Game 42: School madness
The bell's metallic screech cut through his moment.
Students bolted out of their seats like arrows fired from bows. Chairs clattered. Laughter and chatter filled the hallways. Ha-neul didn't even look back at him. She just scooped up her bag with casual grace, slung it over her shoulder, and walked out with her two friends, Min-ji and Mia, their voices rising in mocking giggles.
Masatoshi sat there, cheeks hot, eyes narrowed. The boys around him exchanged awkward glances before fleeing too. Nobody wanted to get caught in his storm.
He whispered under his breath, the words sour like acid.
"I won't let it go."
Out in the corridor, Ha-neul linked arms with Min-ji and Mia. The three girls flowed through the crowd of uniforms and backpacks, weaving past clusters of gossipers.
Min-ji, with her sharp bob haircut and quick tongue, exploded first.
