It was still hidden within its cocoon of light, but now there seemed to be a faint breath of life inside, as if something was brewing.
-------------------------------------------
Light cocoon, breath of life, brewing... Could it be that the High-Dimensional Overseer also wants to imitate the Mother Tree of Desire and start having children?
Hastur was startled, and the more he thought about it, the more likely it seemed.
It seemed the High-Dimensional Overseer intended to use its authority to gestate a new life.
And then let this new life be born on Earth!
Among the known Outer Gods and Old Ones, the High-Dimensional Overseer should be one of the beings most able to descend to Earth.
That it hadn't done so before did not mean it lacked the ability.
Just like the Supernova Dominator, once it changed its perspective, it immediately showed terrifying initiative.
'Was he now pushing the stars to descend upon Earth?'
Hastur's heart suddenly trembled.
The Supernova Dominator had awakened from slumber because of his appearance, and had chosen an active and proactive way to bring its power down to Earth.
The High-Dimensional Overseer, also because of him, shifted from being a silent voyeur of the Outer Gods' lives in the dark, to choosing to actively descend to Earth.
Alignment of the stars?
Could this be the true meaning of the alignment of the stars?
For a moment, Hastur found it hard to accept this guess.
But upon deeper thought, it did indeed match the meaning of the alignment of the stars.
The one who aligns the stars is the being who guides the stars to the correct position.
If Earth was that correct position, then everything seemed to make sense.
"All of this comes from my own choices. Even though I had no such intentions, some of my actions, directly or indirectly, have brought about the alignment of the stars."
Hastur fell silent, recalling his earlier conversation with Bernadette.
Because of fate, the stars will guide you…
The words he once spoke to others were now being fulfilled upon himself.
Fate, he deceived and guided others in the name of fate, yet unknowingly fell into fate himself.
What an irony.
Hastur closed his eyes, remained silent for a long time, then opened them to gaze at the star where the High-Dimensional Overseer resided.
"Looks like I'll have to come to the Hall of Stars every day to observe, so as not to miss any important information."
Hastur observed the High-Dimensional Overseer a little longer, and after confirming it had made no unusual move, withdrew his gaze and left the Hall of Stars.
…
Late at night.
A sensation unlike any before spread from the starry sky, and Hastur immediately awoke from sleep.
He first looked vigilantly at the window. Both panes were shut. It was not Mr. A knocking on his window for a midnight visit.
"This feeling… has something big happened?"
Hastur placed his right hand over his heart. The strange sensation made it impossible for him to sleep.
He rose, took his cane, and carefully opened the window.
Outside, the crimson moon's radiance was shining more brilliantly than ever before.
Scarlet moonlight spread unrestrained across the sky, weaving into a blood-red net, as though intercepting something.
Amid the crimson moonlight, the stars grew dim, but one star burst forth with a dazzling white light bright enough to blind!
Its white brilliance was unstoppable, tearing through the blood-red net as though all obstacles were a joke.
Seeing this, Hastur instantly understood why he couldn't sleep tonight.
Because, the Supernova Dominator had chosen to act now!
From the moment it voiced this plan in the Hall of Stars, only three days had passed.
For an Outer God, an Old One with endless time, this move was nothing short of thunderous decisiveness!
At this rate, not even a True God could stop the Supernova Dominator!
Even if its power was weakened when passing through the barrier, a single True God was far from enough to resist.
Soon, within the crimson radiance, the stars brightened as well, that must have been the Evernight Goddess and the Earth Mother joining hands!
Yet the star that represented the Supernova Dominator still blazed with unmatched brilliance, growing even stronger.
In the night sky, that star expanded in view, until it resembled a platinum sun beside the crimson moon.
A fiercer battle broke out, and the crimson moon and stars gradually dimmed.
As Hastur watched intently, he found the view from his window too narrow to see the other side of the scene.
He quickly left his bedroom for the balcony, where the open view allowed him to take in the entire sky.
There, he discovered the starry sky's battle had split into two fronts.
One battlefield: the crimson moon and stars together resisting the star formed from the Supernova Dominator.
The other: the White Tower, the Tyrant, and the Sun joining forces against a black curtain capable of corrupting everything.
That black curtain must represent the Mother Goddess of Depravity!
As for the God of Combat, the God of Steam and Machinery, they hadn't joined the fight, perhaps holding back to guard against sudden changes.
Both battlefields shook the entire starry sky, waking countless Beyonders.
The higher the Sequence of the Beyonder, the greater their fear of tonight's anomaly.
The more one understood, the greater the terror.
The ignorant low-sequence Beyonders and ordinary people could only see lights colliding and devouring one another in the sky.
They couldn't comprehend what the phenomenon meant, only watched from afar as though it were a spectacle, a novelty.
"Strange… wasn't the Supernova Dominator's target the Eternal Blazing Sun?"
Hastur frowned. Shouldn't the two battlefields have been swapped to make more sense?
Could it be that the Evernight Goddess and the Earth Mother had sensed the Dominator's true target was the Eternal Blazing Sun, and deliberately switched battlefields?
"No!" Hastur's face darkened, there was definitely a trick here!
The Seven Gods couldn't possibly know the Supernova Dominator's true target, nor could they have prearranged things so precisely.
This setup must have been intentionally orchestrated by the Supernova Dominator!
Moreover, the Mother Tree of Desire surely knew of this as well, it couldn't have stayed out of it.
Yet in the starry battlefield, there was no sign of its presence.
"The star battling the Evernight Goddess and the Earth Mother is not the real Supernova Dominator!"
"The real Dominator must be hidden within the battlefield of the Eternal Blazing Sun!"
Based on the current situation, Hastur discerned the Dominator's true scheme!
No wonder even the Lamp God was wary of it, such a sinister schemer was terrifying indeed!
"The Eternal Blazing Sun is in danger."
Hastur sighed. He had already foreseen the battle's outcome.
But he was powerless to change anything. He couldn't possibly run to the Churches of the Seven and confess everything.
Unless he wanted to die!
As he had once said himself: he was only a witness.
"Lord Baron, is there anything you need help with?"
Butler Neil had also been awakened. He had been sleeping soundly, until the commotion outside stirred him.
After inquiring about what had happened, he came to Hastur's side, awaiting instructions.
"Butler Neil, what is your faith?"
"I have always worshipped the Mother Goddess."
"The Mother Goddess…" Hastur sighed softly and said no more, keeping his gaze fixed upon the shifting sky.
Butler Neil raised his head as well. Though he could not understand, he felt deeply shaken, and couldn't help but ask:
"Lord Baron, do you know what tonight's phenomenon means?"
"Perhaps the gods are revealing miracles."
Butler Neil pondered a moment, then agreed, only gods revealing miracles could weave such magnificent and grand celestial wonders.
He closed his eyes and prayed devoutly to the Earth Mother.
Hastur merely watched silently. Seeing that the celestial melee was unlikely to be resolved quickly, his gaze swept over Backlund below.
Surely the Beyonders hidden within Backlund had also been awakened by now…
…
In the luxurious villa of Earl Hall.
Audrey awoke from slumber. Before she could understand what was happening, she heard Susie call out with anxious fear:
"Audrey, wake up! Look outside! The sky is lit up!"
"?" Audrey rubbed her eyes in confusion, about to tell Susie that it was natural for the sky to brighten as night turned to day.
But when her gaze fell upon the clock, she instantly sobered.
It was still the middle of the night!
She hurried out of bed, following Susie's lead to the window.
The moment she opened it, her little mouth opened slightly, her eyes filled with colorful brilliance.
She exclaimed with delight: "Susie, tonight's starry sky is so beautiful!"
"Woof woof woof?" Susie made a confused sound.
"Susie, you still don't understand the concept of aesthetics, do you?"
Just as Audrey began explaining, Susie shook her head and said:
"Audrey, don't you feel a fear rising from the depths of your heart?"
"To see such a wondrous and magnificent sight, how could I feel fear? Joy and happiness, perhaps."
"Woof woof woof?!" Susie felt that couldn't be right, but didn't know how to explain, she was, after all, only a dog.

T/N: Confirmed that Susie is stronger than Audrey 🤣🤣
