Chapter 32 - Chapter 31: Poison Ivy vs Florionic Man

The Plant Master shook his head.

Whether the man in front of him was a representative of that force or not—it didn't matter.

Anyone who stood in his way of saving the Earth was his enemy.

To preserve the world he loved, to bring peace, to destroy the darkness of decay—Jason Woodrue was willing to give everything and pay any price possible .

"Fool."

The Green surged violently within him, raw, primal, like the Amazon River flooding into the Atlantic. A tide of wild vitality.

"You have no idea what's coming. The rot is rising. Ultimate death. Ultimate decay. And I—I have to strengthen the Green. All of it."

"I apologize for trespassing on the domain of the Red... but I won't stop. I am sorry."

Jason raised his voice, resolute:

"This is the only way to save Earth. Only the Green of All Things can—"

"The Red has no intentionof pursuingyour actions."

A deep voice interrupted him. The figure before him—the Bat—spoke calmly:

"This is between you and me."

"And right now, I just want to beat you to death… or get beaten to death by you."

Bruce's presence darkened. An electric tension filled the air as they faced off:

Red and Green.

Animal and Plant.

Survival and Decay.

A war of beliefs was about to begin.

Deadshot frowned.

Why did this all feel... strangely familiar?

He glanced sideways at a stone-faced Count Vertigo, who looked like he was being crushed just in the presence of Batman and the Plant Master. Then to the Cheshire Cat, panting beside him, and Dogwelder, twitching on the ground like a broken puppet.

Yeah. This definitely felt familiar. The sense of déjà vu became stronger and stronger.

"Ahhh—!"

Lady Vic flew over his head, still entangled in vines.

Poison Ivy had set the trees to an automatic attack mode—triggered by intruders and operating independently of Plant Master's control. Lady Vic just kept tripping it.

Every. Single. Time.

Deadshot looked back toward Batman.

He saw Bruce and the Plant master getting closer and closer.

The Plant Master mobilized as much of the Green he was permitted to control more and more plants.

Bruce got at close to them as possible then in one smooth motion, Batman grabbed Count Vertigo like a ragdoll with his left hand, scooped up Dogwelder and Cheshire Cat with his right, and tucked Deadshot beneath his arm like luggage.

"?"

"Wait—no! Not again—! Mmfmmf—!"

Deadshot's shout was cut off as his face got shoved into the Bat's armpit. He nearly blacked out.

With a powerful leap, the Bat took flight, soaring above the canopy with wings outstretched. Behind him, the Plant Master gave chase—riding a giant, eagle-shaped thing made up of trees.

---

Elsewhere...

Amid the rustling woods, Poison Ivy and Harley Quinn held each other tightly.

Tears glistened in their eyes as they shared a rare, peaceful moment.

They reached up at the same time, wiping the tears from one another's cheeks.

Their faces drew closer... and their lips got closer and closer, and closer and closer.....closer and closer....

BOOM!

A huge, monstrous bat crashed through a tree in front of them, shattering it in half with a single kick, trying to slow its descent. Behind the swirling dust, the Plant Master closed in, soaring on his twisted wooden mount.

Every tree they passed twisted and bent under the Plant Master's command, pulled into his service, becoming a member of the power in his hands.

As the bat creature landed, he caught sight of the two women and grinned.

"Worth it," Bruce thought. "All the planning... totally worth it."

"Oh my God," gasped Harley.

From the shadows, the Plant Master emerged.

He froze.

The two women were still locked in each other's embrace, staring at him in surprise. Ivy's arms around Harley. Harley's arms around her.

Jason's face darkened. The leaf-like markings on his skin deepened to a cold, mossy green.

"So… this is where your loyalty lies? With a crazy clown?"

The dark Bat ran behind them, shifting back into human form.

"Good work, Harley. You convinced her."

"Pamela, it's decided—i choose you. Go and teach your ex a lesson."

Robin and Deadshot stumbled to their feet behind him, still dizzy from the crash landing.

Poison Ivy glared at Batman, then turned to face Jason.

"I won't help you anymore, Jason!" she said fiercely. "One mistake, and the whole Earth will be destroyed. Even if the swamp waters in Louisiana work, this ritual will devastate

the Red—leave it hollow."

"Do you really believe the Green can be strengthened far enough to stand against—?"

Jason roared. "I would rather try that."

"So that's it?" she shouted. "You'd throw everything away—for your obsession?"

Jason stepped forward, furious.

"You're really betraying me... for a crazy clown?"

Behind Ivy, Harley peeked at him and muttered,

"Wow. That's Rude."

But Ivy didn't turn.

Her voice dropped—quiet, but sharp as a thorn.

"I was never loyal to you, Jason. Not after what you did to me in the past...after what you made me."

Jason's jaw tightened. The tree veins in his arms pulsed with the power of the green.

"I made you better, Ivy. A superiorbeing—a savior for this planet."

"You didnt make me better. You twisted me

You betrayed me. You turned me into a tool for your ideology— your obsession. You never wanted a partner—you wanted a puppet. You don't.."

"Enough!" Jason snapped.

He stared at her, disappointment written across his face.

"Believe me.I thought you were the future. But now I see… you're just a failed experiment. A weed that needs to be removed for a cleaner more beautiful future."

The next moment, he raised his palm.

BOOM.

BOOM.

BOOM.

The ground shook.

A monstrous hand made of vines and bark exploded out of the earth. It rose just like the bean vine, connecting to the clouds, in a fairy tale.

Everyone stared in horror as the skyline disappeared behind writhing flora:

carnivorous plants, toxin-spitting pain trees, poisonous wolfbanes—all tangled together in a towering, inverted mountain of green.

And then—it fell.

The plants rolled down, rushing towards everyone like a waterfall.

"NO!" Deadshot shrieked.

He was on the verge of a mental breakdown.

But then—everything stopped.

Mid-air, mid-collapse—the wall of foliage froze.

Poison Ivy stood at the center of it all, shaking, her face dripping with sweat. Her fingers trembled as she raised her arms.

"IMPOSSIBLE!" Jason screamed. "I consumed the Swamp Thing's tuber—!"

"Hahaha…"

Ivy laughed weakly through clenched teeth. Her entire body trembled. But her eyes glowed green. Her hair floated, caught in an invisible current.

"Go Red," she whispered. "Show him who's the boss."

Harley encouraged her while ivy held the mountain of Green:

"You got this, babe!"

That was enough.

Poison Ivy's voice rang out like a thunderclap:

"Who do you think I am?!"

Jason poured his power into the Green, eyes bulging, teeth gritted—

But Ivy pushed back.

Step by step, she advanced. With each step, the vines faltered, buckled, then shattered. Her steps were heavy and difficult, but she oppressed the Plant Master leaving him with no way to fight back

She stretched her hands out—and grabbed the invisible roots of power in the air.

"I am IVY, THE POISON IVY — and the plant world—belongs to me."

"HEAAAAAH—!"

The entire sky erupted. The Green exploded and dissolved. In a flash of energy, Jason's creation collapsed, turned to ash.

When the dust settled, Poison Ivy stood panting, glaring at a stunned Jason Woodrue. The apocalyptic scene from moments ago was gone—like a dream wiped away by sunlight.

And then—WHAM!

Jason punched her square in the face, knocking her to the ground with a punch.

(Note: This is the post crisis version of Poison Ivy with a twist.

She was seduced by Jason Woodrue(Plant Master) and experimented upon. After which she hates him and every man on Earth (even Batman.) The only reason she co-operates with him is because of the Green and her love for nature.

But somewhere deep down she is grateful to him, a hint of reluctant gratitude for making her one with nature.")
