Chapter 130 - Chapter 130: Epilogue - When Curtains Close

The stage was empty now.

Costumes had been returned, makeup wiped away. The applause had faded into echoes, the seats now cold and still. But the warmth lingered—in the walls, in the air, in the hearts of everyone who had been there.

Leo sat at the edge of the stage once again, legs dangling off the side, arms resting on his knees.

This time, he wasn't alone.

Yuki sat beside him, leaning her shoulder against his.

"Kind of hard to believe it's over," she whispered.

"Yeah."

"But it's not really, right?"

Leo turned to her. "What do you mean?"

She smiled softly. "This chapter's done. But we're still here. Still breathing. Still writing."

Leo chuckled. "That's one way to look at it."

Yuki nudged him with her elbow. "Theater girl rubbed off on me. Don't blame me."

They shared a quiet laugh.

Across campus, Ami sat by the music room's window, scribbling something in a leather-bound notebook. Lyrics. Ideas. Memories.

She paused, tapping the pen to her chin, then wrote:

> "I didn't win his heart, but I found mine."

She smiled.

A breeze fluttered the curtains, and she felt no sadness. Only peace.

Somewhere deep in her heart, something had unknotted.

---

Rin stood alone at the auditorium's back door, staring at the now-closed entrance. Her clipboard hung loosely at her side.

Kai approached, holding two canned coffees. He tossed one to her.

"You survived," he said.

She caught it effortlessly. "Barely."

"Everyone's saying it's the best school production in five years."

She didn't reply.

Kai took a sip and leaned against the wall. "You proud?"

She looked at him. "I think… I'm grateful."

"Same thing, almost."

He looked at her, not with teasing or flirtation, but something quieter. More respectful.

"You were a hell of a captain."

Rin's lips twitched into something halfway between a smile and a sigh.

---

The next morning was colder.

A final school-wide announcement congratulated the cast and crew. Pictures were posted online. Messages flooded in from students and even alumni.

Leo walked down the hallway where everything had started months ago—the same hallway he'd first seen Rin with her script, where Yuki had ambushed him with soda, where Hana had thrown a basketball and nearly knocked him out.

Everything had changed.

And yet, everything still felt like him.

In his locker, he found another fortune cookie.

He cracked it open.

> "You've chosen your seat. Now, enjoy the story."

Leo smiled.

Yuki's voice rang out from behind. "Hey! You better not be eating that without sharing!"

He turned.

She jogged toward him, bag slung over her shoulder, hair bouncing with each step.

Leo held up the fortune. "Want to read it?"

Yuki took it, read it, then grinned. "Guess that means I'm part of your story now."

"You always were."

She flushed pink. "Cheesy."

"You like cheesy."

"Maybe."

They walked out of the building side by side, the winter sun rising over the rooftops.

Behind them, the doors closed gently.

Ahead of them, another story waited to be told.
