Chapter 15 - Chapter 15 {Real Daughter}

"Good," Grace said with a nod.

"I expect nothing less than perfection from you, Guinevere. Josephine's wellbeing and reputation are paramount."

With that, she dismissed Guinevere, turning back to her work. Guinevere exited the office silently, her expression unreadable.

Meanwhile, Josephine was waiting impatiently in her room, surrounded by piles of expensive dresses and accessories.

"There you are," she exclaimed as Guinevere entered.

"I've picked out a few outfits for you. I think the blue one would suit you best it'll match your eyes."

She held up a elegant blue dress, smirking.

"You know, I've always wanted to play dressup with my longlost sister," she said mockingly.

"And now, thanks to that silly DNA test, I finally get my chance!"

Guinevere smiled after all in this world of magic, power, wealth; and high society it's not easy.

"No need," Guinevere said as she stepped forward and walked inside her room and took out a pink summer dress. Guinevere was outstanding at keeping her emotions hidden so well that it felt like sometimes she was just an emotionless robot.

Grace took Josephine shopping and Guinevere stayed back she did not want to be around them.

Three days later

"Young Miss, how is possible your skin is so smooth and soft!?" A maid girl asked as she clapped her hands together. This girl servant name is Hannah Green.

"How did you manage to do it? Ahh you also don't wear perfume! Yet you smell so wonderful," Hannah gasped out. After Josephine came all the servants that used to be responsible for her disappeared well left and went to work for the real daughter.

"Miss the Patriarch wants to talk to you."

Hannah helped Guinevere get dressed and she turned on off the tv.

Guinevere stepped out of the room she wore a yellow summer dress.

As Guinevere entered David's study, she found him seated behind his large mahogany desk, a stern expression on his face. He looked up as she approached, his eyes narrowing slightly.

"Guinevere," he greeted curtly.

"I've been thinking about your situation."

He leaned back in his chair, steepling his fingers together.

"You're not a Blackwater by blood, but you've been a part of this family for years. I can't just cast you out onto the streets."

Guinevere listened impassively, her expression giving nothing away. She had faced far worse than a stern talkingto from David Blackwater.

"But," he continued.

"I expect you to earn your keep. You'll continue your duties as before managing the estate's finances and assisting with business affairs."

He paused, studying her carefully.

"And you'll help Josephine acclimate to her new life. She needs guidance from someone who understands the intricacies of high society."

Guinevere nodded slowly, taking in his words. It was clear that David saw her as little more than a servant one who would now be tasked with helping the real heiress settle into her role.

"I understand," she said calmly.

"After a month than you go back to your poor parents," David said. Guinevere sneered in her heart but she smiled gently.

"Host host why…forget host you are something else!" Tun Tun said.

To the outsider world Josephine is her long lost sister of course Josephine is careful she still won't give Guinevere the information about her parents address but Guinevere was not in the rush. The teachers who taught her when she was child reappointed to help and teach Josephine education and etiquette.

Guinevere today was at Penelope place drinking tea her mind was not at the tea. Penelope her best friend has beautiful silver purple hair and gray eyes. Penelope is the youngest daughter of the Acadian Family Clan.

"It's just a sister that's all," Guinevere said as she sat down her tea. Penelope looked at her best friend and her eyes became cold she already dislike this Josephine.

"What is this sister like?" Penelope asked its best to know your best friend enemy to help her cut down the snake.

"She…" Guinevere sighed.

"Kind."

Fake.

"Adorable."

Two face bitch.

"Gentle."

Manipulative.

Guinevere smiled as she covered her mouth.

"Lovely so lovely!" Guinevere said.

"Oh?" Lily said as she walked over wearing pants suit and she sat and hugged Guinevere.

"She is still a country bumpkin," Penelope said with a distain smile.

"Yes penny isn't wrong though she is somewhat beautiful can she reach your level," Lily said her green hair flowed down like a summer forest. Penelope smiled.

"My eighteenth birthday is coming up my mother is making agreements for my party," Penelope said as she stared at her tea.

"Oh?" Guinevere said.

Does Grace want Josephine to be friends with Lily and Penelope these two are well respected in high society but not easy to get along with. If one gets in their wrong side it would be a battlefield.

"I can't wait for your party," Guinevere said. Lily picked up a pastry and put it in Guinevere mouth.

"What do you say we invite Josephine to my birthday banquet. Shouldn't we teach that in this line of work is not easy? I am sure that people would compare the two of you like a dragon and Phoenix. Like people would say Guin is good as this, but look Josephine is not a genius."

"Penny," Guinevere said this why she likes these two people.

"Guinevere is the most promising person ever. We shouldn't let the wrong person be in the spotlight. Just look at the business that Guin has succeeded by far. The Air Shipping business no one cared about is now countless of people are waiting for the first model to come out. Ahh Guin what is your next plan?" Penelope asked as she smiled gently.

"Yes not only that the spells you designed wonderful," Lily said.

"Ahh this time I decided on Spaceship."

"WOW Air Spaceship is that possible?"

"Ladies since when have I never made something come true?" Guinevere asked them as she smiled.

Penelope's eyes widened in amazement, a rare smile gracing her lips.

"A spaceship? Guin, that's incredible!" she exclaimed.

"I knew you could do it, but this... this is beyond anything I could have imagined."

Lily nodded enthusiastically, her green hair bouncing with the motion.

"Yes, it's absolutely brilliant! The potential applications are staggering. Imagine the possibilities for interplanetary travel and exploration."

Guinevere leaned back in her chair, a smug smile playing on her lips. She loved seeing the admiration and awe in her friends' eyes. It was a feeling she had grown accustomed to over the years.

"But of course," she said casually.

"It's just a small project I've been working on in my spare time."

Penelope rolled her eyes playfully.

"Spare time? Guin, when do you have spare time? You're always working on something new and innovative."

Lily giggled, reaching for another pastry.

"Penny dear I have an idea for your party," Guinevere said with a mischievous smile. Penelope understood.

"Bring her along trust me it would be worth it," Penelope said Josephine want to take everything that her best friend worked so hard for hehe. Lily finished her tea.

"I think a horse party would be wonderful," Lily said.
