The Land of Fire.
"Rasa, are you sure there's a gold mine around here?" Obito frowned, scanning the desolate terrain. His voice held a trace of doubt.
It was hard to believe that beneath this barren land, a gold mine could be hidden.
Rasa answered confidently, "Of course. I can clearly sense a large amount of gold buried deep underground."
Obito nodded. Though still skeptical, he decided to trust Rasa's judgment.
"In that case, let's start digging."
As soon as he spoke, a surge of powerful chakra burst from his body. Susanoo was activated in an instant.
A towering blue giant appeared, immediately plunging its massive hands into the earth, sending dirt and rock flying everywhere.
In no time, a massive pit had formed and continued deepening at a terrifying speed.
Rasa, standing off to the side, smacked his lips in amazement. This excavation speed was unreal—probably no mountain on earth could stand against Susanoo's might.
He sighed inwardly. If only I had that kind of power… Mining gold would be child's play.
After an unknown amount of time, Obito's excited voice echoed from deep within the pit.
"Get down here! There really is a gold mine!"
Without hesitation, the group jumped into the pit.
But the moment they did, they were stunned.
They had expected it to be deep—but not this deep. They were in free fall for what felt like ages before finally landing at the bottom.
At the bottom of the pit, Obito had already released Susanoo. He was standing there, practically drooling over the glittering golden ore embedded in the walls.
Rasa's jaw dropped.
He was speechless.
"This really is the Land of Fire… Even a random vein can produce so much gold!" he muttered, his tone filled with envy.
He couldn't help but sigh.
If only the Wind Country had such fertile land…
If it did, he would never have had to leave his home, working outside like this just to support the village.
How tragic it was that the Fourth Kazekage had been reduced to doing manual labor abroad.
---
"Dig! Dig!" Obito shouted excitedly.
As he spoke, he summoned Susanoo again. The giant blue arms resumed smashing and tearing through the stone walls.
"Got it, senior!" Shisui replied, pulling out a shovel and rushing to help.
There was no other choice. He would've loved to summon a giant to dig too, but unfortunately, the conditions didn't allow for it.
Unlike Obito, Shisui didn't have Hashirama cells to help him recover Mangekyō chakra.
No Eternal Mangekyō, no regenerative cells. If he overused his Mangekyō, he'd go blind in no time.
Especially after that Susanoo fiasco against Black Zetsu—his vision had already worsened.
So now, unless absolutely necessary, he avoided using it.
---
"Rasa, you're in charge of refining the ore we dig up," Kakashi said calmly.
He then took out his own tools and began digging into the wall.
Rasa nodded and walked over to the growing pile of ore. He began refining the gold using his Magnet Style.
Their division of labor was crystal clear:
Obito, Shisui, and Kakashi focused on excavation.
Rasa handled refining, sorting, and estimating the value.
Time slipped by as they worked tirelessly in the mine.
---
Eventually, they had dug until there were no traces of gold left in the area. Only then did they stop.
Obito rubbed his sore eyes. Even with Hashirama cells, using Susanoo at such high intensity had drained him.
Kakashi and Shisui dropped their shovels and collapsed onto the ground, completely exhausted.
Without Susanoo, they had to dig the old-fashioned way, and their pace barely kept up with Obito's.
Their arms were sore, their tools were hot, and their willpower was worn thin.
Meanwhile, Rasa's face was pale, and his hands were trembling from overuse of Magnet Style.
Refining gold was insanely draining.
He had passed out once already from chakra exhaustion. Barely recovered, he'd had to get right back to work at full intensity.
It was brutal.
But looking at the mountains of gold around him, he felt deeply satisfied.
Yes, it was exhausting. But the profits? Worth it.
Rasa mentally estimated the value of this haul. While not as massive as the last one, this vein alone could easily fetch around three billion.
Between the two gold mines, he had already earned 1.6 billion.
Just for comparison:
The annual budget of the entire Sand Village was under 600 million.
In just a few days, he'd earned enough to fund his village for three years.
At this rate, he alone could support the entire Hidden Sand Village.
His villagers could finally live good lives.
The thought made him so excited that his refining pace actually increased.
---
Once all the gold was refined, Obito stored it in the Kamui dimension and immediately led the team to search for the next mine.
None of them noticed the sign just a short distance from the pit:
"Private Property of the Fire Daimyo. Unauthorized mining is strictly prohibited. Violators will bear the consequences at their own risk."
---
Daimyo Residence, Land of Fire.
"Lord Daimyo! Urgent news!" a guard burst into the hall, face full of panic.
The newly appointed Daimyo, seated high on his throne, frowned.
"Why so flustered? Speak slowly."
His voice was calm, but carried authority.
The guard lowered his head and whispered, "My Lord… One of the gold mines under your name has been privately mined."
"WHAT?!" The Daimyo shot up from his seat, his face darkening instantly.
"How much was taken?" he asked, voice trembling.
"…All of it…" the guard replied, drenched in cold sweat.
"Useless fools! You let an entire vein disappear before you even noticed? What have you people been doing?!"
The Daimyo gritted his teeth.
"Send someone to Amegakure. Ask the Akatsuki for help. Tell them I'll pay 2 billion ryo if they retrieve that gold mine for me!"
"Yes, my Lord!" the guards bowed and rushed out to carry out the order.
The Daimyo narrowed his eyes, a cold glint flashing through them.
"No matter who you are… If you dare steal from me—"
"You'll die for it."
He swore in his heart: The ones who stole my gold will pay… in blood.
