Chapter 119 - Chapter 120: The Perfect Study Companion

After writing that line, Draco clearly felt the handwriting go silent for a while before slowly forming a new line.

Oh, studying, of course, no problem. I can help you complete your homework, as long as you assist me with some small tasks.

Looking at that line, Draco frowned and wrote, somewhat dissatisfied:

"No, I don't need you to help me write homework. That's my path to improvement."

"I just need you to give me hints when I encounter problems I don't understand."

After writing this, Draco flipped through the books beside him, suddenly his eyes lit up, and he wrote again:

"Professor Slughorn wrote that there are five special methods for brewing Pain Relief Potions. Do you know them?"

Draco's handwriting slowly disappeared. After a long time, a line of ink finally appeared in the diary.

I know. Wait a moment.

Then, the handwriting began continuously listing various potion brewing techniques below, even including some diagrams.

It was clear that this notebook really had extensive knowledge of these subjects.

Very pleased, Draco copied this knowledge into another notebook of his, then wrote again:

"The book also mentioned three different forms of Cold Relief Potions..."

This is actually quite simple.

Time slowly passed. With the diary's help, Draco felt that this afternoon's studying had become incredibly easy.

This diary was truly a magical artefact!

It was like an all-knowing teacher that not only answered his questions but sometimes even expanded to explain other dark magic topics.

Unfortunately, he wasn't very interested in those dark magic topics since they weren't on exams and couldn't increase his chances of beating Potter.

Such useless things. The old him might have been interested, but now he just found them boring!

Before he knew it, the sky had darkened. Looking up at the clock, Draco contentedly closed his books, then wrote a heartfelt line in the diary.

"You really are an amazing diary!"

Thank you for the praise.

After accepting the compliment, the handwriting in the diary slowly faded.

Having answered questions all afternoon, it was indeed a bit tired now.

And for some reason, while answering questions, it always had a strange sense of familiarity... a feeling that came from deep within its soul, as if it were some deeply hidden fear.

As if it had once been tormented by certain questions for a long time.

But it didn't seem to have experienced such things before?

How strange!

Late at night, in a manor unknown to Muggles on the German border.

The whirlpool in his eyes slowly dissipated. Evans pursed his lips, casually threw the unconscious dark wizard in his hands to the ground, and dusted off his hands.

Behind him, unconscious dark wizards were suspended in mid-air, wrapped in water streams. A beautiful girl with long, pale golden hair was mischievously manipulating the water currents, arranging those dark wizards into the shape of a flower in mid-air.

Hearing the commotion from Evans's side, the girl turned around. "Finished?"

"Mm, this was the last batch." Evans counted the number of dark wizards floating in mid-air. "Sending them to the German Ministry of Magic should get us a few thousand Galleons."

"Only a few thousand? Doesn't feel as profitable as that hideout we raided a few days ago." The girl crossed her arms in dissatisfaction. The water streams turned into thick rope, tying all the unconscious wizards together like sheaves of wheat and dumping them on the ground nearby.

Hearing Sothea's words, Evans shrugged helplessly.

"We've almost caught this branch of the Saints to extinction. Dark wizards aren't like leeks... they don't grow back that easily."

"Besides, if we keep catching them, we'll probably provoke those Saints who've been hiding for years. Just the two of us might not be able to handle that."

Although they had caught people throughout Germany, Evans was very clear that these people weren't involved in the Saints organisation's real core. Given their strength, those Saints wouldn't retaliate with full force.

But if they really provoked that most extreme wizard group from fifty years ago, it wouldn't be so easy to escape.

He hadn't brought many combat-capable companions on this trip, so it was better to be cautious.

"After fighting for so long, you should be satisfied, right?"

"Mm, I had a blast!" The girl's eyes showed some excitement. "Besides that fight with the big guy, this was the most satisfying battle!"

After saying this, the excitement in the girl's eyes gradually faded, revealing some fatigue.

After "playing" in foreign lands for nearly two months, her body seemed to have reached its limit.

Feeling the somewhat depleted power within her body, the girl showed a smile and spoke softly.

"Evans, I think... I'm a bit sleepy."

"Hmm?" Hearing this, Evans's gaze instantly sharpened, and then he walked straight to the nearby fireplace.

"Then we'll go back now."

Dark green light flowed from his wand tip, staining the fireplace and gradually merging into it.

"What about these people?" The girl looked pitifully at the bundle of dark wizards on the ground, still caring about those bounties.

"I'll contact the German Ministry later and have them come collect them."

"As for the bounty, I think they shouldn't default on payment."

The orange-red firelight gradually took on a dark green tinge. Looking at the flames in the fireplace, Evans turned and extended his hand to the girl.

"Let's go, we're going back."

"Mm!" The girl showed a brilliant smile, took Evans's hand and stepped into the flames. As the dark green flames rose, both of them completely disappeared.

A few minutes later.

A silver light flashed by the great lake in the Orléans Forest, and Evans and the girl appeared lakeside.

The continuous high-intensity teleportation had left Evans somewhat tired, but in just this short time, the girl beside him had visibly grown haggard, and even her body had become somewhat transparent.

But just as Evans was about to help the girl lie down in the lake, she suddenly raised her hand to stop him.

"Wait a moment."

"Hmm?"

Stopping his actions, Evans looked at the girl beside him with some confusion.

She struggled to raise her hand, and streams of water condensed on the back of Evans's hand, slowly forming a light green chibi smiley face.

Having done all this, the already weak girl could no longer stand steady and leaned into Evans's embrace.

"What's this?" Evans looked at the mark on the back of his hand with some confusion.

This mark seemed very similar to his own mark, just with simplified functions.

"This is my improved version based on your mark. With it, when I wake up, I can tell you immediately!"

Having said this, the girl lay back, slowly floating on the lake surface with Evans's support.

Her body gradually dispersed into water streams. Before completely dispersing, she suddenly winked playfully.

"We're best friends, right?"

"...Yes." Evans replied softly.

"Then, good night?"

"Mm, good night."

As her words fell, the girl completely dispersed into the lake, leaving only Evans standing alone by the lakeside, letting the darkness completely envelop him.

After a long while, he chuckled softly and disappeared in a flash of silver light.

School was starting, and he hadn't written a single lesson plan yet.

He could finally relive the feeling of not having touched his summer vacation homework before school started.

And his Magical Creatures Club... it was time to prepare for that too.
