Chapter 2 - Chapter 2: Dragon's Gate

Let's get straight to the point. In fact, Luo Zhen is a reincarnator from another world. But unlike others, his original memories after being born were very vague. He knew the concepts of "world" and "society" that were not of this world, but he couldn't remember anything about his personal experiences. He only knew that his original name was Luo Zhen. According to his knowledge, this condition should be called amnesia. Because he couldn't remember who he used to be, Luo Zhen quickly accepted this new world.

In this life, he was born as a Sankta, also known as the Angel or Celestial tribe. The moment Luo Zhen opened his eyes, he saw a group of big sisters with halos above their heads surrounding him. So he blurted out without realizing it, "Ah... am I in heaven?"

It is said that the halo and wings of the Sankta tribe appear along with the first language after a child gains consciousness. Normally, the first word a child speaks after gaining consciousness is calling for their mother or father, or an older brother or sister. But this was the first time a child had spoken up after being born, asking where he was. And that baby was Luo Zhen.

Perhaps because of this, the angels who delivered him seemed very alarmed by what happened, leading to a long period of chaos that Luo Zhen himself didn't quite understand.

After getting through the difficult period, Luo Zhen roughly learned about his situation and accepted his new identity without much difficulty. His country of birth was called Laterano, and his race was Sankta, or Angel. This country was also one of the few that still adhered to ancient beliefs and was seen by outsiders as backward, arrogant, and unwilling to adapt and embrace new things. This made Luo Zhen, who learned this for himself, very alarmed.

Therefore, after going through a difficult time and finding an opportunity to escape from these things, Luo Zhen fled from here with his beloved childhood friend to seize the freedom he had always wanted. And now, he is just an employee of Penguin Logistics. His race is Sankta. That's all there is to his story.

So, no matter who you are and how many times you ask him, Luo Zhen will always give the same answer... "I do not wish to change my name or surname. My name is Luo Zhen. I am a law-abiding employee of a regular logistics company. I have the right to remain silent until my lawyer arrives. Oh... I'm feeling a bit hungry right now. Could you please serve me some Pad Krapow Moo Saap here? With a side of steamed rice, of course. Thank you."

The woman in front of Luo Zhen slammed the table. "You, surnamed Luo! Answer my question straight right now!!" Ch'en, a young and promising senior police superintendent of Lungmen, was burning with rage at the man in front of her who had been annoying her for hours.

She held up a photo, along with a video clip from a security camera, and yelled at him. "This is the evidence! Not only were you driving without a license, but you also drove recklessly and risked causing a major, unnecessary accident!! Plus, you dared to violate the law on carrying weapons in public! And this is the third time this month I've had to do this crazy stuff because of you!!"

"I object to that, madam!" Luo Zhen shook his chair as if he didn't accept the accusation. His halo trembled slightly as he replied to her. "I'm just a good citizen who was being chased by terrorists, and what I did was within the bounds of self-defense. Didn't you see? It was just self-defense. And you've misunderstood another thing. Where did I violate the law on carrying weapons? Even though I'm a Sankta who can legally carry a Guardian gun, the gun I used was just a toy gun I made myself. And the bombs were just black pepper bombs. Do you still need me to prove that?"

After Luo Zhen spoke, a petite female police officer next to Ch'en raised her hand meekly. "M-Madam Ch'en, he's right. This is the report from the identification department. Those weapons were really toy guns."

"What kind of toy gun in the world can take down terrorists, huh!!" Ch'en, whose blood pressure was rising, furiously tore the report in the young policewoman's hand.

Ever since Luo Zhen joined Penguin Logistics a few years ago, Ch'en had read this type of report countless times. This man, Luo Zhen, had the ability to create various types of firearms, something that even the most famous Raytheon Industries of Terra couldn't do. But what was infuriating was that only he could use the guns he created himself. And even the bullets he fired were harmless, made from simple things like paper or plastic toys. Combined with the regulation that Sankta could legally carry guns on the street, they were able to completely evade legal sanctions without being charged with anything. And this law was not very friendly to the blood pressure of our beautiful police officer, Madam Ch'en.

Sir Ch'en, the young beauty, tried to control her breathing and took a deep breath. She sat down in her seat and spoke to Luo Zhen calmly. "Thanks to Penguin Logistics, these arms dealers were caught as soon as they arrived at the port. I am truly grateful for your brave actions. Although... originally, this duty should have been for the Lungmen Police Department, not some private logistics company around here. You understand what I mean, right, Mr. Luo?"

"Ah, please wait a moment, Miss Ch'en," Luo Zhen raised his hand with a serious face. "Let me say it again, my surname is not Luo. My real name is [Rosen], which means 'rose' in the Lateran language. But since my common name in Ursus is [Ling Shan], doesn't that sound too much like your surname, Ling? So you probably don't want others to call you Miss Ling, right? That would make us sound like a newlywed couple."

"Hngh!..." Sir Ch'en lowered her head and bit her lip tightly as if someone had just punched her in the stomach. Her eyebrow twitched violently before she looked up to meet the eyes of the person in front of her. "Luo Zhen, you really are a genius at getting on my nerves... Do you hate me that much? Do you know how much of my sleep time your antics have cost me? My overtime work is already enough. Do you still want me to be writing down notes on the crazy things you do all night?"

Luo Zhen replied with a proud face. "If I'm the one who can monopolize Officer Ch'en's nights, that means I stand above all other men in Lungmen." The men from the guard office who knew Luo Zhen well all nodded and looked at him with genuine envy.

"Y-you," just as Ch'en's beautiful face was about to turn into a steamed bun, the office door was pushed open, and an elegant voice followed. "Luo Zhen, where is Luo Zhen from Penguin Logistics! Your princess has come to save you!!"

"I'm here! I'm here, Your Highness!" Luo Zhen ran out quickly, as if the office he was in was just his backyard. He ran to the door and saw a female police officer walking straight towards him. "Miss Shi, I'm really sorry to have troubled you—" Luo Zhen, who was greeting her, was cupped on the cheeks by the woman's hands.

She, who was shorter, stood on her tiptoes and caressed his face while sighing. "I'll tell you, Luo Zhen, just as you said to Ling Ch'en just now, your surname isn't Luo, and my surname isn't Shi either. So please call me Shihuaya, or Her Ladyship Shihuaya."

"I think it might be a bit of a problem for a commoner like me to call you 'Her Ladyship'..." Luo Zhen took Shihuaya's hand and whispered softly in her ear. "If you think calling by surname is inappropriate, I also think calling you 'Her Ladyship Shihuaya' is inappropriate too. So, are you interested in changing what we call each other?"

"Really?" Shihuaya didn't mind being shamelessly flirted with by the man in front of her at all. The fluffy tiger ears on her head twitched cutely. "Then from now on, you shall call me Beatrix. That is my real name. It's fine for you to call me that when you've decided to be with me forever. Of course, don't even think about joking... because if you see it as a joke, I will kill you."

Luo Zhen quickly let go of her hand with a serious face. "Understood, Your Ladyship Shihuaya."

Seeing Luo Zhen's cowardice, the many police officers watching the scene booed in displeasure, showing their contempt for Luo Zhen in unison, regardless of gender.

The conversation between Luo Zhen and Shihuaya was nothing new in the office. As a senior police superintendent, Shihuaya dared to talk to him in front of everyone and treated him like a close acquaintance without caring what anyone thought. Even a blind person could tell they had a deep relationship, and no one was surprised by it. Because the rumor that Superintendent Shihuaya was chasing after Luo Zhen had been known by everyone in the office for a long time.

The two delicate flowers of the Lungmen Police Department, the little dragon Ling Ch'en and the tigress Shihuaya [within the Dragon's Gate], were both untouchable flowers here. Even though they were first-class beauties and many male police officers looked forward to seeing them before work every day, no one dared to ask them out directly. The reason for that was the gap in many things, be it class, status, or even looks... In this regard, Luo Zhen from Penguin Logistics was far superior to them, due to his combination of looks, character, and a delicate personality that could easily get close to both of them. The interaction between the three of them was a very famous scene in the Lungmen office each week.

And when looking at the overall picture of who had the most interesting reaction, that person would have to be Senior Shihuaya, whom you could tell from Mars had a thing for Luo Zhen. She used one hand to stroke Luo Zhen's face and handed him his bail papers with a whisper in his ear. "Just like last time, a little girl is waiting to see you... Don't be late, okay?"

Luo Zhen saluted seriously. "Understood! Thank you for always helping me, Your Ladyship. But anyway... you really like to play with my face, don't you?"

Shihuaya nodded with satisfaction. "Of course, I like it very much. The white and soft texture, it feels as good as holding soft sticky rice. Do all Sankta have such good skin? I'm so jealous."

Luo Zhen made an emotionless pout. "There's no use in you telling me that. Next time, I'll steal some skincare products from Exusiai for you. I guarantee your skin will—Ow ow ow!! That hurts! Why are you pinching me, Your Ladyship!"

Shihuaya: "What did you say just now?" Shihuaya, who had exploded with anger, was no longer a cute tigress but had evolved into a ruthless witch with a cold heart.
