However, the Inner Sect Disciples of the Sect's lineage are different.
Gu Yuan occupying this last spot means it blocks their path to promotion.
Unless by some miraculous chance, they can drastically increase their Cultivation strength and possess the strength of a True Disciple, allowing them to compete with other True Disciples, thus also having a chance to become a True Disciple.
So, this makes many people quite unwilling, even resentful.
