Mr. Brown and the class walk through the vast forest, into the unknown.
The forest that surrounds the big town of Pineville is not often explored by regular town folks, due to the multiple reports of bear sightings.
Thankfully, nobody has reported being attacked... or maybe that's bad because it probably meant they never came back.
Hopefully, the class doesn't run into one.
There are multiple main roads that connect neighbouring towns to Pineville, but Mr. Brown and the class would rather take their chances in the forest with the bear than the horde of thousands of Freaks roaming the main roads to the next towns.
The wind blows causing the branches to sway and creak. They stick together holding their weapons, avoiding every suspicious noise they hear.
*Rustle*
*Rustle*
*Snap*
They hear a noise coming from the bush. Frightened, everyone huddles together, their weapons ready.
"W-What could it be?!" Cindy whispers anxiously.
"Is it them?!" Michael's face turns pale.
"Shh," Jack shushes them.
*Mutter*
*Mutter*
Something is muttering in the bush.
The mysterious rustling gets louder as their anxiousness grows.
*Pounce!*
Suddenly, a rabbit pounces out of the bush.
"I-It's... a rabbit," says Jane, feeling slightly underwhelmed of the anticlimactic-ness.
Brock, Alan, and Jay give each other a glance, confirming if all three are on board on the same thought. It is one of those unexplained phenomena when boys all have a unanimous idea.
"CATCH IT!"
"LUNCH IS SERVED!"
"DON'T LET IT GET AWAY!"
The boys pick up stones from the dirt and throw them at the rabbit, in hopes of catching it for food. The rabbit, now frightened, whines and runs away, swiftly dodging the stones.
The boys knock the girls aside, running to chase after the rabbit.
"Hey, watch it!"
"Oww!"
"Boys, get back here!" Mr. Brown yells and scolds them.
"Guys, we have to stick together!" Stella calls them back.
They call the boys running off to the distance, but they don't listen.
"I'll go after them," Jack sighs as he walks after them.
Mr. Brown sighs and pulls out his phone and walks around, again, trying to find a signal, hoping to make calls.
Meanwhile, Kate glances at Sasha, Stella, Trevor, and James.
She approaches them, her heart heavy.
"I-Is Ethan really... gone?" she asks.
They stare at the dirt in response, holding back their tears.
"W-What happened?" she asks with guilt.
"He was pushed by one into a classroom. He managed to close the door in time, but he was already trapped inside with two of them, unarmed... we tried to break the window, but we couldn't... we couldn't save him..." James says in self-anger.
"He was pinned to the floor and was bit..." says Trevor.
Kate notices Sasha refusing to even face her.
She tears up in guilt.
"Kate... come on, please don't cry..." Stella reaches out to her.
"I'm sorry... It was my fault... If I hadn't tripped..." Kate breaks into tears, her voice trembling.
"It's not your fault," Sasha says.
She faces Kate.
"He chose to go back to save you himself," she adds.
"I don't understand why he's always such an idiot, jumping head first into danger just to save anyone... no matter who they are..."
Sasha tries hard to hold back her tears as she thinks back to how Ethan was always there for her since they were kids.
"I guess, he's just that kind of a person..." she starts to tear up.
They all look down at the ground, grieving.
"Stop beating yourself up... the reason why he's not here... is simply because he didn't want you gone..." Sasha hands Kate a handkerchief.
Kate takes the handkerchief and wipes her tears. She regrets the times she bullied Sasha with Jane and Cindy.
"I'm sorry, Sasha... for those times..." Kate says as she holds the handkerchief close to her heart.
Sasha just looks away.
They sit on the grass to rest.
"When school just started, Ethan, Jack, and I still didn't know each other. I forgot to bring a pen on the first day of school, can you believe it?" Trevor laughs with a hint of sadness.
"I asked Jack, but he also forgot to bring one, so we panicked. Ethan overheard us and pulled out 2 extra pens from his bag," he adds.
"He was always well-prepared and kind, like a scout. I guess... that was the start of our friendship."
They listened to Trevor's story and thought back to how they met Ethan.
"I don't know Ethan that much... I didn't even notice him for the first few days in class... But, I know he's surprisingly smart... him and Jack. They're 3rd in class, after all. He gets high scores on pop quizzes without seeing him study, and I think that's really awesome," says Stella.
"I've known Ethan the longest. We've been friends ever since we were little, given we live in the same neighborhood," says James.
All of them listen to James.
"The very first time we met... was when he saved me from a dog that got my soccer ball, when we were little... Ethan ran to me. He stood tall in front of the dog. He scared and chased it away... then, gave me back my ball," he adds.
A faint smile appears on his face, as they're sitting down.
"Ethan never changed. He's still the friendliest, most socially-awkward person you'll ever meet... He's the kind of person who would never hurt a fly..." says James.
Suddenly, James' smile begins to slowly fade, changing his expression.
"But, there was... one thing that happened..."
They stare at him.
"What is it...?" Trevor asks.
James looks at them with concern, hesitant to say more.
Finally, Jack and the other boys come back running.
"Guys, you have to follow us!" Jay says with enthusiasm.
"Did you catch your rabbit?" Jane asks sarcastically.
"Even better, we found a river!" Brock yells.
Without hesitation, Mr. Brown and the class head to the river.
"Water... finally..." Michael looks at the flowing water. It's clear enough to see his reflection.
"Is it safe to drink, Mr. Brown?" Stella turns to Mr. Brown.
"River water, even if it's crystal clear should never be drunk. There's a difference between clear and safe. We can't see it, but there's tons of bacteria and other harmful microorganisms in natural, unsterilized water sources," says Mr. Brown.
"We should always boil it first. Give me that pan, Jane," He takes Jane's pan.
Mr. Brown scoops up the river water with the pan, until it fills to the rim. Now, all they need to do is boil it.
"How do we make a fire?" asks Hailey.
"It's easy. We just need two sticks," says Alan.
Alan picks up two sticks and rubs them together quickly.
"Rubbing them together creates friction, which then generates heat," he adds.
After a while, Alan is exhausted before he could even make a single spark.
They all stand in awkward silence.
"Nothing's happening," says Hailey.
"I-It'll work..." Alan hides his shattered confidence.
"Honestly... just use this."
Jane pulls out a lighter from her pocket.
Everyone awkwardly stares at her.
"Why are you guys staring at me?" she asks.
"I didn't know you smoked, Jane..." Cindy says.
"What? You have a problem with that?" Jane says, annoyed.
With no further questions, they gather sticks into a pile. They first lit up torn papers from the books, then threw them into the pile of sticks, making a nice, warm fire.
The class sits down to rest and massage their feet after an hour of walking through the forest.
Jack and James are scouting around the area to make sure it's safe.
"East is clear," says James.
"West, too," says Jack.
Michael, Alan, and Cindy are drawing a map on the dirt, trying to navigate where they are.
"If we are currently here... up ahead, there should be a camping spot, right here."
"No, we already walked a mile passed that..."
"We have to get to the nearest town..."
Mr. Brown continues walking around, still trying to find a signal for calls.
"Tsk."
The lack of signal around the area makes him pissed.
"The coast is clear," Jack says as he walks back to the group.
He sits down by the fire, exhausted. Mary, who's also quietly sitting on the dirt, notices his bloody hands.
"D-Does it hurt?" she asks Jack.
"This? No. It's fine," he replies, putting his hands in his pockets.
"A-Are you sure?"
Jack shows her his calloused fists.
"Yeah. Boxing and street fights have trained my fists. Don't worry about it."
Jack picks out the tiny pieces of glass under the skin of his knuckles.
Mary pulls out a handkerchief from her pocket, then scoots next to Jack.
"May I borrow your hand?" she asks.
"What are you-" Jack is confused.
She gently and tightly wraps the handkerchief around his hand.
"It should help with the bleeding."
Jack feels awkward in this situation.
"Thanks..." he says.
But, nevertheless, he appreciates Mary's kindness.
Mary shakes her head.
"You saved me... thank you..." she replies.
*Splash*
*Splash*
The class notices fish in the river. After days of eating nothing but a cookie, it would be nice for them if they could catch some to eat.
The students take off their shoes and stand in the river to catch fish, while Mr. Brown and the others continue boiling water.
A fish swims near Brock.
"Gotcha!"
He jumps at it. He catches it, but the fish slips out of his grasp.
"Dang it!" he kicks the water.
The others are also having trouble catching a fish.
"How are we gonna catch them?" asks Hailey.
"If only we had a net..." Trevor sighs.
He glances at Jay.
"Do you know how to tie one, Jay?" he asks.
"I do. But, what are we gonna bind?" Jay asks.
"Maybe there's something around we could use..." says Stella.
Trevor looks around at the ground, looking for something to bind to catch fish.
He looks at Thomas sitting on a big rock, taking small rocks out of his shoes.
Once again, Trevor gets a clever idea.
"Guys, can I borrow your shoelaces?" Trevor rushes back to the others.
Without asking, everyone gave their shoelaces to Trevor and Jay.
"Hey, Jay... teach me how to tie knots!" Trevor says with enthusiasm.
"Sure. It'll be more convenient if more of us know how to tie and bind," Jay replies.
Jay teaches Trevor how to bind a net and tie different knots, and together to make a small, improvised fishing net out of shoelaces.
"It's a little small, but it'll work," says Jay.
"You two are confident... are you sure it'll work?" asks Alan.
"Of course it will..." Trevor replies.
Trevor and Jay stand in the river, holding the net.
Soon enough, they caught a fish.
"Haha! YES!" Trevor shouts.
"We caught one!" Jay yells.
Sasha takes the fish and kills it with her knife. Stella cleans the fish in the river. She pokes it with a sharp thin stick, then plants it in the dirt next to the fire to grill.
Finally, they found an abundant source of food and water to survive. Celebrating, Trevor and Jay go back to the river, to catch more, and they did.
After a long while, they caught a total of twenty-four fish to fill them up, and boiled enough water to rehydrate. There is now enough food and water for everyone. They all feel way better after a meal.
But sadly, their rest must be cut short... because, they suddenly hear another rustling in the bushes.
*Rustle*
*Rustle*
They quickly stand up from the dirt and take a step back, holding out their weapons.
"I-It's probably just the rabbit," says Michael.
The class grows anxious, once again.
Suddenly, the rabbit jumps out of the bush.
*mutter*
*mutter*
Everyone takes a deep breath of relief and calm down.
"See?"
...
...
...
*GRRRAAAAAAAHHHH!*
A Freak pounces out of the bush and grabs the rabbit. It bites off its head.
"OH, CRAP!"
"NO!"
Mr. Brown and the class step away.
More walk out of the bush, all of them have their murderous eyes on the class.
"RUN!" Mr. Brown yells.
They quickly run to cross the river to get away. The Freaks run to chase them.
"GRRAAAAAAHHHH!"
"FRRRAAAAAAAHHH!"
Mr. Brown and the class run for their lives through the forest with the Freaks just behind them.
Even though they're tired, they continue running until they stumble upon a neighboring town.
A big greeting sign from the town catches their attention. Hanford.
"We're at Hanford," says Mr. Brown, catching his breath.
Hanford, a smaller town next door east to Pineville. It has become a ghost town... abandoned, and no one in sight. There is trash and blood scattered all over the road and sidewalk. The town seems completely empty. No threat could be heard lurking around.
"Come on, Thomas!" says Hailey, pulling his arm.
"Brock, on your feet!" Trevor.
"Those pricks... T-They're still behind us..." Jane bends down to her knees.
Everyone is tired after running so much.
"We can't stay here... we have to keep running!" James says, fearing for their deaths.
Soon enough, the Freaks make it out of the forest. They spot Mr. Brown and the class, exhausted on the open grass and charge.
"Shit!" Mr. Brown hides his tired students behind his back.
Jack and James step forward, ready to fight them head on.
*Bang!*
*Bang!*
*Bang!*
*Bang!*
*Bang!*
*Bang!*
Suddenly, there were gunshots.
The Freaks fall to the ground. They were shot dead.
They look around to see where it came from. Behind them, a police officer is pointing his gun.
They stare at each other.
The class grow anxious, at the sight of the officer. They hide behind each other.
The police officer is aware that they're nervous, so he puts away his gun.
"Now, what are you folks doing all the way at the edge of town?" he asks.
"Oh, thank goodness... we're saved!" says Mr. Brown.
He approach the police officer.
"Officer, please help us. We need to find shelter... a safe place from these monsters!" says Mr. Brown.
The police officer fixes his hat in place and walks away.
"Follow me."
Mr. Brown's face lights up and follows the police officer.
"Come on, kids. We're saved."
At first, the students are a little hesitant to follow them.
While walking, they catch a sight of the town. It really has become a ghost town. Only scattered trash and rats fill the streets.
They come across a huge billboard.
"Cool billboard," Alan points.
"Marcus Maine, the undefeated four-year UFC heavyweight world champion," Jack, with a little enthusiasm, shares his knowledge.
"He's so cool. I see all of his fights! He never lost, not even once!" says Jay.
"Is he really that strong?" Hailey asks curiously.
"He is debatably the strongest of the era... that is... until the day I'll beat him," Jack says with pride.
"Too bad the world ended early, buster," says Trevor, his hands in his pockets.
While Mary is looking at the billboard, a poster with the same picture is blown to her face by the wind. As she panics to get it off, she trips on the sidewalk and falls on her butt.
The class turns to her.
"Woah, you okay there, sailor legs?" asks Trevor.
Sasha, who's behind her, reaches out to lend her a hand.
"I'm fine, thanks."
Mary gets up on her own and pats her shorts clean.
Sasha glances at her while they continue walking.
The officer takes them to the police station at the center of town.
The station is a two story building with three police cars on the drive way. They enter the station and the students immediately barricade the door. The officer casually watches them with arms crossed.
Inside, there are a few jail cells. All of them are empty.
"You can stay here if you want. No one else is here anymore, except me," says the police officer.
"Why? Where did the other policemen go?" asks Michael.
The police officer just blankly stares at him.
"Oh."
They got the message from the look.
"Anyway, y'all can stay here for as long as y'all need. There're snacks in the vending machine."
The police officer rummages through a desk and pulls out a bottle of bourbon. He sits on a chair and lifts his feet on the desk.
"What's your name, officer?" asks Mr. Brown.
"Philip Gerber. Just call me Phil."
Officer Phil pours a glass for Mr. Brown, then drinks from the bottle.
The students stare in confusion.
"Umm... anyway... have you contacted anybody for help? Possibly, other officers... or people who have supplies?" Mr. Brown asks.
Officer Phil lights a cigarette.
"I mean... there must be someone else out there, right? Maybe they could... offer a hand?" he adds.
The police officer quietly smokes.
"Nope," he replies, apathetically.
...
"Umm... but, we could look for people, no?"
"I don't know about you, teach... maybe you forgot to check the radio this morning and missed Robby what's-his-name's tear-jerker drama of a broadcast... or y'all are too stupid to even know what a radio is... but if you had... you'd have known that the world and everything dear has completely fallen into the shitter, but to cut things short, no... no one's coming."
They're all silent as he takes another huff of the cigarettes and starts to chuckle.
"I mean, you should have heard the guy! He was all crybaby-miss-his-momma's-tits and let the bastards in, and then it was just silence from there... really emotional..."
Mr. Brown and the class don't say anything.
They go upstairs to rest. They sit on the floor of the station's office, not knowing what to do anymore.
"What a useless officer!" Jane complains.
"Shh! He might hear you, Jane!" says Michael.
"It's great that we found shelter... but, what do we do now? We'll run out of food and water eventually... and we don't even know if our families are safe..." Alan points out.
"I wanna see my parents..." Cindy says and starts to cry quietly.
Mr. Borwn checks his cellphone. There's finally signal since they're in a town. He gives it to his students.
"Call your families..." he says.
Mr. Brown looks at his students with pity.
"Tell them you're okay and we're currently in a police station in Stanford... say you love them, and you miss them... tell them everything you wanna tell them, because if they are still there... it may be the last time they'll ever get to hear your voice..."
The students look at Mr. Brown.
"Quickly, while there's still battery..." he says.
One by one, they call their parents' cellphones or their house telephone... leaving a message, since none of them picked up. They fill the room with emotions, tears, and goodbyes... hoping they heard it across the line. Soon enough, the battery died. Jack and Mary didn't get to call their families.
They all sit on the floor. Their fire and motivation to keep going is getting dimmer. They're lost... and completely alone.
"Maybe we should wander around the building to find something useful and... get our mind off things?" James suggests.
They explore the police station, hoping to find something interesting and maybe useful.
James and Jack are checking the computers.
"Any luck?" Jack asks.
"The Wi-Fi's out..." James sighs.
Brock, Jay, and Alan are checking drawers.
"It's all just paperwork and office stuff..."
Hailey, Cindy, and Kate are looking for food in the pantry.
"Five cans of tuna and wheat bread..." Kate puts them on the table.
"They really need to bring more life to office pantries," says Hailey.
Mr. Brown and the rest sit in place in the office, while Thomas uses the restroom.
In the empty hallway, Sasha is leaning on the wall, loitering. Mary walks out of the room to stretch her legs. She looks at Sasha with her innocent, anxious eyes, saying nothing. Sasha glances at her as she walks by.
"You need to talk," she says to Mary.
Mary stops and turns around, looking confused.
"Y-Yes?"
...
"You know what I mean..." Sasha stares at her.
...
"I'm sorry, Sasha. I don't know what you're talking about."
Mary gives a forced, awkward laugh.
Sasha stands properly and faces Mary. She pulls something out of her pocket.
"I'm talking about this..."
Mary's face turns pale as she sees Sasha holding a familiar looking pregnancy test. Sasha throws it to the floor.
"That's the reason why you were crying in the stall, wasn't it?"
Mary looks around to make sure no one else is there in the hall, then slowly picks it up.
"It's positive... you're pregnant," Sasha says with arms crossed.
Mary hides the pregnancy test in her pocket, not saying anything.
"What are you gonna do now?"
"I don't think that's any of your business, Sasha..."
"Bullshit."
Sasha instantly shuts her up.
"There's no hospitals anymore... no police... you don't even know if your parents are still alive..."
Mary listens to what Sasha has to say.
"The moment your belly bloats on us while we're fighting or running for our lives, you won't be able to keep up. You'll be more of a dead weight than you have been this whole time."
"Please, don't tell the others."
"Are you serious? They're bound to find out, anyway. You can't keep this from us anymore."
"Please, Sasha... I'm begging you... I... I don't know what to do..."
Mary lowers her head and holds Sasha's hand and starts to cry, hoping Sasha would understand the stress she has been under this whole time. Sasha's sterness softens for a moment, then it returns.
"Well, you better figure it out and say something... or I will."
Sasha coldly storms off the hallway, leaving Mary in tears.
...
Later that afternoon, the class hears gunshots coming from outside. They quickly stand up to peek through the window. It's Officer Phil. He's shooting a Freak in the torso tied to a pole while laughing.
"What is he doing?! Why won't he just kill it?!" asks Hailey.
"Is he... having fun?!" James is confused.
"Is he nuts?!" Brock yells.
"He's making too much noise. It's gonna attract them to us. We have to stop him!" says Mr. Brown.
Mr. Brown and the class rush outside to stop him.
"Phil! What are you doing?!" asks Mr. Brown.
Officer Phil turns around. The Freak he tied to the tree is squirming and groaning, trying to break loose.
"Howdy, folks."
"Don't 'howdy folks~' us. Are you insane?!" Jane yells.
"What are you on about, girly?" asks Phil.
"Excuse me?!"
Kate holds back Jane.
"Phil, stop shooting your gun! It's too loud. These things... they're attracted to sound... It's gonna bring a horde of them to us," Mr. Brown reaches out to Officer Phil.
"Officer, it's dangerous..." says Stella, reaching out to him.
"Put down you gun!" Alan yells.
Phil laughs and massages his forehead.
"Are you... ordering me around?" he asks.
"W-What?"
Mr. Brown and the class are confused.
"A teacher... and a bunch of brats," Officer Phil points at them.
"W-Well..."
"Listen here, teach. All ya' pussycats are welcome to leave if you find it too much for ya'."
"No, you're misinterpreting us, Phil-" Mr. Brown makes hand gestures.
Phil steps closer and suddenly presses his gun against Mr. Brown's face.
Everyone freaks out. They step back.
"W-Wait!"
"Mr. Brown!"
"W-What are you-"
Everyone is now afraid... frightened of what the deranged officer might do.
"Y'all may think y'all are smart, but, no one... tells me what I can or can't do... not anymore, got that?" Officer Phil says with huge chilling eyes.
The students get behind each other.
"O-Okay... I'm sorry, Phil... P-Please..." Mr. Brown is shaking, begging to not get hurt.
Officer Phil looks around and enjoys the sight of the scared, vulnerable students. It's as if he's gotten a kick out of it.
He spots Stella. Phil walks over and grabs Stella's wrist.
"H-Hey! Ahh!" she screams.
They gasp.
"No! Let her go!" Hailey tries to pull Stella back.
"What are you doing?!" asks Mr. Brown.
He pulls Stella away and separates her from the class.
"Hey. Let her go, bastard..." says Jack, walking over to them.
The others pull out their weapons.
"Or what?"
Phil points his gun at them.
"Crap..." Brock lowers wooden stick.
"Tsk..." Jack backs away.
The class stops. They take a step back, huddling together, afraid, while the crazy officer takes Stella away.
"Please, let me go..." Stella begs and starts to cry, her knees trembling.
"I don't want to, missy. See, here's what's gonna happen... Your friends here are gonna drop their weapons and stick it up their ass, we're gonna drive away in my little police car, and you're gonna be my new wife," says Phil while hugging Stella by her neck.
"W-What?! No!"
Stella is shocked. She struggles to free herself.
"No! Give her back to us!" Kate yells.
"You prick!" Brock shouts.
"Officer, we'll go away... we'll do what you want... please, just give her back!" James yells.
"No can do. She's a cutie for a China girl," Phil laughs.
"I-I'm Korean!" Stella shouts.
"We're gonna have so much fun together! I hope you make a nice wife for me," Phil snorts and tries to kiss Stella.
"NO! I don't want to!" Stella screams, pushing away his face.
Everyone is disgusted.
"I hope you die, pedophile!" Jane yells, hiding behind the class.
"Phil, let her go..." Mr. Brown slowly tries to reach out for Stella while looking into Phil's eyes.
Phil grows a creepy smile. He looks at the fearful face of everyone around him. He laughs.
"Now, I realize something..."
"R-Realize... w-what?" asks Mr. Brown.
He lifts his arm to the sky.
"This is the new world, teach... in the new world, there ARE no laws..."
Mr. Brown and the class huddle up together in fear.
"And anyone with a gun... is a god!" he says with a crazy smile.
"You're insane..." says Trevor.
Stella and everyone else is terrified.
"P-Phil... y-you don't have to do this... you wouldn't wanna shoot kids, would you?" Mr. Brown asks.
Phil laughs hysterically.
"You think I can't?! YOU THINK I WON'T DO IT?!" he points his gun at Mr. Brown and the class.
They scream in fear, raising their hands.
"DO YOU KNOW WHAT I WENT THROUGH?! DO YOU KNOW WHAT I DID?!"
"The day this madness started, I drove home as fast as I could to get my wife and daughters and drive out of town. I yelled at them to get out of the house. When they were running to my car... those bastards from the block came charging... I knew they weren't gonna make it... and those bastards would kill me, too... so I drove off without them..."
They gasp when they found out what happened.
"I made a choice... I left my family to be eaten so I could live..."
Mr. Brown stands straight and looks at Phil, disappointed.
"That doesn't make you strong, Phil..." he says.
Phil smiles.
"You're just a coward..." Mr. Brown says.
The class is scared, scared of what he will do next.
"But, it doesn't matter anymore... I killed my own kids... and I'll kill all of you, too..."
"PHIL, DON'T!"
"NO! WAIT!"
"OFFICER, IT DOESN'T HAVE TO BE LIKE THIS!"
"DON'T KILL US... PLEASE!"
Everyone is panicking. He's gonna shoot at them at any moment, and nobody can stop him.
Jack is thinking of rushing Phil himself to tackle him... or at least, use up his remaining ammo to save his classmates, even if it means him dying.
Phil laughs as loud and hysterically as he can.
"So, tell me... WHAT ARE YOU GONNA DO NOW?!" he laughs, pointing his revolver at Mr. Brown and the students.
Mr. Brown hides his students behind him.
Stella is hitting Phil's arm, trying to break loose.
Jack charges at Phil, prepared to die.
"WHAT ARE YOU GONNA DO N-?"
*BANG!*
Everyone flinches. Suddenly, blood spurts all over them. Terrified, they check their bodies.
They look at Phil.
"-now...?"
...
...
...
Phil was shot in the head, causing his brain to explode.
Mr. Brown and the class stand horrified.
He lets go of Stella and falls to the ground, dead.
Everyone is covered in blood and mortified, especially Stella.
They look to see who shot him.
In the far distance, they see a guy with black hair, wearing a familiar green jacket, holding a gun on one hand and a hatchet on the other. His whole body is completely drenched in blood.
They're all stunned to see who it is...
...
...
...
"E-Ethan?" Jack's eyes grow wide.
"Is that... Ethan?!" Trevor is in shock.
"What the-" Sasha rubs her eyes.
"How...?" James is confused.
"Ethan..." Stella tears up.
He slowly and weakly walks toward them.
"I found you, guys..." he smiles weakly.
His left eye is different. It's pale and leaking out black fluid. His left shoulder has a bite mark, exactly how they remembered.
Ethan's body becomes so weak and exhausted, he collapses to the ground.
*Thud!*
...
