The court buzzer still echoed in my ears when I left the hearing chamber. The stone corridors outside felt colder, as if the chamber's final verdict hadn't yet released us, the archive chest felt heavy against my ribs.. history waiting to be allowed free.
I walked beside the golden-eyed envoy, barefooted but steady. Each corridor wall bore contract seals that now hummed faintly under my touch, I'd just learned I wasn't the only surviving Silverline heir. My sister Lunara's name echoed through lineage records...someone erased her, but the blood remained in root ink.
Biat lagged behind but then caught up. "We must tread carefully," he murmured. "Court won't let either claim stand without proof, if the second heir appears, they'll split the contract or null it."
I closed my eyes and forced focus. "Then we find her, or prove why they erased her."
