Superboy didn't hold back. He charged like a freight train, fist cocked. Kael sidestepped, twisted, and drove his elbow into Conner's ribs. It echoed through the training room.
"Again," Conner snarled.
They clashed—punch for punch, blow for blow. The others stopped to watch. The floor cracked beneath their feet. Lights shattered above. Kael ducked under a punch and headbutted Conner hard enough to send him flying.
Superboy wiped blood from his lip. "You're not normal."
Kael's eyes flared golden for a split second. "Neither are you."
Then Kael blacked out.
When he came to, the room was scorched. Conner was dazed but okay. The others stared at Kael like he'd just leveled a city.
Nightwing crouched next to him. "What the hell was that?"
Kael didn't know. But something inside him felt… awakened.
