Maya's POV
I entered our bedroom where Damon lounged in the armchair, absorbed in a book, dressed casually in light pants and a knit shirt. He glanced up as I walked straight past him without a word, closing the bathroom door behind me. I had something special planned for tonight.
After my shower, I slipped into pink lingerie made of delicate transparent lace, selected a silk scarf from the closet, and returned to the bedroom. I placed the scarf on the nightstand, feeling his eyes follow my every move, then turned to face him. His book now set aside, he watched me intently, offering a half-smile when our eyes met. I approached him and bent down until our faces were level.
"Inspector, explain yourself. You entered that woman's room, and she was only in her underwear?" His smile vanished as he nodded in confirmation. "What happened next?"
"Maya..." He clearly didn't want to revisit the subject.
"What happened next, detective?" I pressed, determined not to let him derail my plan.
