Cole's POV
My mind was a tangled mess of discoveries and questions these past few days. The weight of everything we'd uncovered pressed heavily on my shoulders, but having Ophelia beside me made the burden bearable. Our lives were transforming rapidly, affecting everyone in our circle, but I clung to the hope that these changes would ultimately lead to something better for all of us.
The divorce between my father and Claire, that manipulative criminal, had finalized exactly as we'd hoped. She kept the house—that place filled with painful memories for Maya and me—along with her flashy car. Though part of me felt the settlement was too generous, I couldn't bring myself to care much. Removing that venomous woman from our family was victory enough, and my father seemed genuinely relieved to end a marriage he'd only maintained for my sister's protection. I shuddered to think what might have happened to Maya if my father hadn't married Claire in the first place.
