Stella's POV
The day had started so beautifully! Liam gave me the afternoon off, knowing I had lunch plans with Adrian. We spent those precious hours shopping for our home, laughing and debating over kitchen gadgets and throw pillows. But the moment Adrian dropped me at my apartment building, my perfect day shattered like fragile glass.
The doorman greeted me with a smile and handed over my mail. Among the usual bills and flyers lay an envelope that made my blood freeze in my veins. That handwriting. I recognized it instantly.
He had found me. But how was that even possible?
I stumbled into my apartment, the envelope clutched in my trembling fingers. I couldn't bring myself to open it. Instead, I collapsed onto my couch, staring at it as if it might burst into flames. Tears streamed down my face without my awareness, the terror building inside me like a gathering storm.
