Stella's POV
Ever since Damon warned me about Nathaniel being free, I'd been living on high alert. My routine became strictly limited: home to work, work to home. No detours, no lunch outings. Maya had become my faithful shadow, joining me for meals along with Owen, who spent most of his time sighing dramatically since Thea's departure.
Wednesday brought a welcome distraction when Adrian's mother invited me to lunch. I met her and Aaron at a cozy restaurant near my office. They were absolutely radiant together—the way Aaron doted on Sophie made my heart melt.
"You two are honestly the perfect couple," I announced as I approached their table.
Sophie looked up with unexpected vulnerability in her eyes. "You really think so, Stella?"
"It's not just my opinion—it's obvious to anyone with eyes," I replied, leaning down to give her a gentle kiss on the cheek.
Aaron's eyes crinkled with happiness as he greeted me. "I couldn't agree more with Stella!"
