Adrian's POV
The living room was filled with comfortable chatter as we discussed plans for an upcoming outing when Iris decided to check in on her kids via video call.
"Hi, Mom! Where are you now?" Miranda's voice rang through the tablet, her eyes bright with what appeared to be innocence—though I'd long since learned not to be fooled by those angelic looks.
"Hi, sweetie! We're in Madrid, waiting for our connection flight. Are you two behaving yourselves?" Iris looked relaxed and carefree, clearly enjoying her vacation with Eric.
Miranda didn't miss a beat. "I always behave, Mom. As for Atlas..." she threw a sideways glance at her brother, "well, he's a teenage boy. Can't expect much from him." Her tone dripped with sisterly disdain, which made me smile despite myself.
"That's ridiculous, Miranda," Atlas protested immediately. "Mom, I'm a well-mannered young man. Always behaving like a proper gentleman."
