Stella's POV
The warm shower had worked wonders on my mood. By the time I joined everyone at the breakfast table, my stomach was rumbling with hunger, eager to make up for the previous night's ordeal. We sat around the table, laughing and chatting about everyday things while Atlas not-so-discreetly slipped bits of food to Saffron under the table, pretending we couldn't see his little operation.
After the horrific experience I'd endured just hours before, being surrounded by these three amazing people who were doing everything possible to make me smile felt like the perfect medicine. Their affection and attention were exactly what I needed to heal from my near-tragedy.
"Stella, what would you say to having lunch at the club today? Just the four of us?" Adrian suggested, his eyes bright with enthusiasm.
"The Community Guild?" I asked, considering the idea.
