Maya's POV
I waltzed into the office with a spring in my step, humming a melody that reflected my joyous mood. After grabbing coffee from the break room, I settled at my desk ready to tackle the day's challenges. I couldn't remember a time when I'd felt this content with life.
"Well, well, someone's in a suspiciously good mood. Is Inspector Carlos responsible for putting that smile on sweet little Maya's face?" Damian approached my desk with an inquisitive grin. "Is he really that impressive, Maya?"
"Desperate for office gossip as usual, Irene?" Owen laughed, clearly amused by his boss's curiosity.
Damian attempted to look professional. "It's not gossip, Owen. We simply need intelligence on Damon since the man's like a vault. That's all."
"Just admit it, Damian. You're a hopeless gossip," Owen teased, not letting his boss off the hook.
