Adrian's POV
Chl and I grabbed coffee at the small bakery near my office building. While there, she administered what she called a "gentle warning" by yanking my ear hard enough to make me wince.
She then outlined her master plan: shopping expedition, complete makeover, return to my corporate duties tomorrow, and finally, the part that mattered most - helping me win back Stella. I wasn't entirely clear on what all this entailed, but I was already drowning in misery, so I figured I might as well accept the lifeline she was throwing me.
After finishing our coffee, we hailed a taxi and headed directly to the hotel where I'd been living like a hermit for months.
"Adrian West," Chl announced once we entered my suite, "you're taking a proper shower, packing your belongings, and checking out of this hotel immediately."
I ran my hand through my disheveled hair. "Chl, I can't go back to our house without Stella there. And if I return to the apartment, she'll never forgive me."
