What started as a routine arrest warrant service on Scout Ryker had spiraled into absolute chaos. Three drug dealers dead, two officers wounded—all because these idiots refused to comply. That punk Shane was to blame for setting up shop here in the first place. I'd chosen to handle these warrants personally since one of the targets was Shane's operation manager, and I needed intel on this Nathaniel character everyone kept whispering about.
The silver lining? No civilian casualties. People always talk about "stray bullets" like they're some mystical force, but I know better—there are only bullets that find targets, and sometimes those targets are innocent people. That's what keeps me up at night. Today, though, we got lucky. One of Shane's soldiers named in our warrants ended up in a body bag, but we nabbed the other two alive.
