fect Revenge
Stella's POV
Adrian's Bentley pulled up to the office building Monday morning, the engine purring like a contented cat. Our weekend had been intoxicating, filled with stolen kisses and whispered promises, though the shadow of his father's disapproval still lingered between us. I could see the tension in Adrian's jaw, the way his fingers drummed against the steering wheel when he thought I wasn't looking.
The mysterious letter I'd received felt like a lead weight in my purse, but I refused to burden Adrian with another worry. His father's venom had already poisoned enough of our happiness.
"I'll pick you up tonight," Adrian murmured against my ear as I gathered my things, his breath sending shivers down my spine.
