Adrian's POV
The amber liquid in my glass caught the dim light of the Community Guild as I sat with my closest friends, Liam Sterling and Damian Knight. Thursday nights at the club had become our tradition, a way to unwind from the chaos of running our respective empires. Tonight, however, my curiosity was getting the better of me.
"Liam, what happened with that woman I recommended?" I leaned forward, genuinely interested in his response.
Liam's jaw tightened slightly, his usual stoic expression growing even more rigid. "That falls under Evelyn's jurisdiction, Adrian. She's conducting a video interview tomorrow morning. From what I understand, Evelyn has already reviewed her credentials thoroughly, spoken with Aiden Dalton, and seems rather taken with her qualifications. The hiring seems inevitable."
His clinical tone told me he was deliberately avoiding details, which only fueled my curiosity further.
