Stella's POV
After my night out, I felt lighter. Hazel and I talked things through this morning, and Logan confirmed our movie plans for tonight.
The desk phone rang, cutting through my afternoon routine. Reception informed me that Miranda, Adrian's niece, was downstairs asking to see me. My stomach twisted with curiosity and dread. I approved her visit anyway.
Hazel stood by my workstation when the elevator doors slid open, revealing that stunning little girl. She moved like a dancer in her ballet attire, golden hair swept into a perfect bun, those enormous emerald eyes so achingly familiar.
"Auntie Stella! I've missed you terribly!" Miranda practically floated toward me with dancer's grace.
"Sweet girl, I've missed you too." I wrapped her in my arms, breathing in her innocence. "Let me admire you properly. That ballet outfit is absolutely gorgeous on you."
"Thank you, Auntie! I escaped from class just to visit you before heading home," she confessed with that disarming smile.
