Chapter 252 - Arrival on Planet Namek

"Can this thing be mass-produced?"

Naruto pointed at the scouter in his hand.

Although relying on tools wasn't ideal, this one was just too convenient—basically a portable Dragon Radar that could also read power levels.

If every Dragon Warrior had one, it would drastically cut down on communication time.

Sure, they could use ki sensing to communicate over short distances, but once the range grew too large, they could only feel each other's presence, not actually exchange words.

"The manufacturing isn't hard," Bulma explained, "what's hard is the computational load. Every time the reading range increases by ten thousand, the amount of calculation doubles."

"I've already pushed this one to its limit—it can measure power levels up to 300,000. Anything beyond that, it won't display."

To modify what was once a scouter limited to under ten thousand into one that could read up to three hundred thousand… there was only one thing to say: Bulma really was a genius.

It also highlighted just how weak the research division under the great galactic emperor Frieza actually was—the so-called mightiest force in the universe, yet their scientists couldn't hold a candle to Earth's own Bulma Brief.

"If I want to build a new model that can read higher numbers," Bulma continued, "I'll need some special components. Unfortunately, most of those don't exist on Earth."

In other words—it wasn't that Bulma couldn't build a stronger one; she just didn't have the parts.

Once again, praise where it's due: All hail Bulma.

Still, a 300,000 limit was more than enough.

Even across the entire universe, there weren't many whose power exceeded that—at least not before the defeat of the galactic emperor, Frieza.

Before that era, there were barely a handful with power levels above 100,000. Even those above 10,000 were already rare exceptions.

Now, all Naruto needed was the coordinates for Planet Namek.

His next destination was the legendary world of the Namekians.

Don't be fooled by how weak the Namekians looked in the Frieza Saga—being slaughtered like helpless chicks by Vegeta and Dodoria.

In truth, the Namekians were one of the stronger warrior races in the galaxy.

An average warrior-type Namekian had a power level in the thousands, and their elite, Nail, reached an incredible 42,000.

It was the perfect place for Naruto's next stage of training.

Normally, it would've been easiest to ask Shenron for the Namekian coordinates.

But three months earlier, the Z Fighters had already summoned the Eternal Dragon to revive everyone killed by King Piccolo.

That wish had turned the Dragon Balls back into stone—they wouldn't recover for another nine months.

That left only one option: ask Kami to send him to the Other World, travel along Snake Way, and meet King Kai personally.

Once again, it seemed he would have to go through the underworld's process.

"Oh, by the way," Bulma said suddenly, "this machine actually stores the coordinates of a lot of planets."

Naruto: "!!!"

Now that was convenient—talk about a pillow arriving right when you're falling asleep.

After some searching, Bulma discovered that the coordinates had been left by Bardock and Gine when they sent Goku to Earth. All of them belonged to peaceful, non-hostile worlds—like Planet Namek, Planet Yardrat, and Planet Metamor.

"So… you're going on an interstellar journey?"

The moment Bulma heard Naruto's plan to travel to Planet Namek, her eyes practically sparkled.

As the heiress of Capsule Corporation, she had lived a life of luxury since birth—never lacking food, clothes, or comfort. She had been born at the finish line.

Gifted with intelligence far beyond ordinary people (though, admittedly, IQ isn't the same as wisdom), she could master any subject with just a glance.

But precisely because everything came too easily, she eventually grew bored.

Seeking something exciting—or maybe someone exciting—she'd stumbled upon the legend of the Dragon Balls in her family's archives. That discovery had led her to meet Goku and embark on her first great adventure.

Those adventures with Goku and the others had been the happiest days of her life.

And now, here was a new chance—an adventure across the stars. How could she not be tempted?

Naturally, she asked to come along.

However… Naruto flatly refused.

His reason was simple:

Naruto didn't want to bring her.

What a joke—he wasn't going to Namek for a vacation. He was going there to train.

Women only slow down my training.

Unless they can spar with me.

"You have no idea how dangerous space travel can be!" Bulma protested, refusing to give up. "You've never even been to another planet, have you? Do you know—"

She launched into a long lecture about the risks of interstellar travel, clearly trying to convey one message:

'It's dangerous out there. It's even more dangerous if you go without me.'

Naruto nodded seriously. "You're absolutely right."

"Then—"

"But I'm still going alone."

"Ugh, you're so boring! Stingy!"

Seeing how determined he was, Bulma puffed up her cheeks in frustration and stormed off.

"Hmph! You think I can't do it without you? Someday, I'll go on a space adventure of my own!"

Three days later, Naruto boarded his spaceship bound for Planet Namek.

Before departing, he made a quick stop at Korin Tower to pick up a bag of Senzu Beans.

The journey from Earth to Namek would take six days.

Don't let that short time fool you—Planet Namek was incredibly far from Earth.

A normal Earth ship would take 4,339 years to reach it.

The logic of interstellar travel in the Dragon Ball universe had always been a mystery.

Vegeta and Nappa took about a year to reach Earth.

Krillin, Gohan, and Bulma reached Namek in a month.

But with Dr. Brief's upgrades, Naruto's ship would arrive in just six days.

Interestingly, Vegeta's return trip from Earth to Frieza's base took less than a month—perhaps because the base was located somewhere on the galaxy's edge.

Officially, Earth was positioned on the outer rim of the Milky Way.

Whether Vegeta had simply been far away, or his ship had been slower, or Frieza's headquarters was also near the edge of the galaxy… no one really knew.

"Let's try out the gravity chamber."

Since the ship was on autopilot, Naruto didn't need to do anything else. All he had to do now was focus on training.

He entered the middle deck's training chamber and activated the gravity control system.

"Let's start with eleven times gravity."

As soon as he pressed the switch, a familiar pressure filled the room, pressing down on every cell in his body.

"Not bad… feels good."

Six days passed in a flash.

Everything went smoothly—no run-ins with Frieza's soldiers, no mechanical issues.

By the time the ship approached Planet Namek, Naruto had already adapted to thirteen times gravity.

He wasn't like Goku, that total monster who could jump from ten times to a hundred in less than a week—but for Naruto, thirteen times in six days was still impressive progress.

As the massive green planet came into view,

a flicker of excitement stirred in his chest.

The Dragon Balls of Namek should be stronger than Earth's, right?

Maybe I could even wish to become the strongest in the universe…?
