Beneath the sands of the Ravaged Reaches lies a temple lost to all but myth—The Tomb of Stillness. It is said to be a place where time stands utterly frozen, and not even magic flows.
Guided by Kairon's compass, Twilight Zone set off through the Silent Deserts. The air shimmered as if repelled by sound, and not a single creature stirred.
After three days, they found the entrance—an obsidian monolith inscribed with an ancient rune: "Only the forgotten may pass."
Solas pressed his hand to it. "This temple belongs to the Chrono Reapers… an ancient order that erased themselves from time."
Julius closed his eyes. "We'll remember them, even if the world cannot."
The gate opened.
Inside, the world was quiet. Too quiet.
Their footsteps made no sound. Magic fizzled into sparks before it could form. Time magic refused to answer Julius's call.
"This is worse than null magic," Lyra whispered. "It's anti-time."
The deeper they went, the more their thoughts slowed.
Rael collapsed first. Then Rin. Then Bloom staggered to one knee.
"It's stealing our temporal momentum," Solas warned.
Julius took a deep breath and focused. "Then I'll reset it."
He reached into his chest, drawing on the Fifth Key's essence, and released a burst of Chrono Flame that ignited the ancient gears hidden beneath the floor.
The temple groaned—and began ticking.
Time resumed.
At the temple's heart lay a sealed vault.
As Julius reached out, a voice echoed.
"Turn back, bearer of the future. The past was not meant to awaken."
A figure emerged: a woman in robes of shifting dust—Lady Stillvale, the last Chrono Reaper.
"I was entrusted with the Sixth Key… and the burden to protect the world from what it unlocks."
She raised a sword forged of stillness itself.
"If you want it, Julius Chronas… then show me how time is meant to move."
The battle that followed was soundless but fierce.
Julius couldn't use his magic fully. He relied on instinct, on movement, on memories.
Every strike exchanged with Lady Stillvale felt like decades.
Finally, he struck her blade aside—not to kill, but to embrace.
"I don't want to control time. I want to give it meaning."
Stillvale smiled… and vanished into dust.
The Sixth Demon Key floated where she stood.
