Ye Tianfan, within the crimson flower bud, saw Senior Brother Yun Tian surrender, so he canceled the flower bud. Although this bud seemed quite delicate, it had incredibly strong defense capabilities, though it also consumed a vast amount of Spiritual Qi.
After all, the Fire Lotus itself is an offensive technique. Forcing it to be used as a shield is feasible because this Fire Lotus, if intended to be a defensive shield, requires constant attacks. In other words, although it appears to be defensive, the Fire Lotus is actually attacking the techniques directed at it.
Hence, it requires a vast amount of Spiritual Power, and substantial Control Power too, because even after defending, one cannot use this power excessively. It must be used just right, precisely enough to neutralize the opponent's attack!
Therefore, both Spiritual Power and mental energy are consumed significantly!
