Chapter 14 - Chapter 12: Sword Instruction (Part 2)

You Su touched his neck that had already returned to normal, smoothed his sleepwear, and calmly walked out of the room.

He was no longer as shocked as when he first saw the monster junior sister. Setting aside its nauseating appearance, it wasn't all that different from his junior sister, and compared to his familiar junior sister, it even showed more care for him.

Perhaps it was the possession by an evil spirit that made the junior sister more candid, You Su thought.

Tonight, the starlight and moonlight were bright. The grotesque monster held a wooden sword, repeating the gesture of lifting the sword over and over, but the movements were stiff, much less fluent than the human form of the junior sister.

Seeing You Su approaching, the junior sister stopped practicing swordsmanship, her tone filled with regret: "Senior brother, did I wake you?"

"No, I took too long a nap." You Su chuckled lightly.

"Hehe, why don't you become a night owl like me then."

"That won't do. I can't sleep while you're awake." You Su took a wooden sword from the rack, somewhat meaningfully, but he quickly changed the topic and asked, "Where are you having trouble?"

Upon hearing this, the six fish eyes of the junior sister all lowered slightly, with an expression of disappointment: "Senior brother, I can't get the third move right."

You Su looked at the extremely disproportionate and bulky body of the junior sister, naturally knowing the reason why it couldn't master it, but he didn't say it directly and started demonstrating the wooden sword himself.

"I'll show you once."

You Su held the sword like a flute, one thrust, one lift, like an immortal brushing off clothes, so graceful.

"Senior brother, you're amazing!"

The junior sister's eyes shone brightly. You Su might not practice Yuan Sword, but there were indeed many commonalities between Yuan Sword and Yuan Sword, and he truly showcased the essence of the third move of Yuan Sword.

"Your turn."

The junior sister imitated inadequately, limited by her physique, the actual effect was unsatisfactory.

It seemed she understood that the failure was not due to not comprehending the sword technique but because her body was simply not suited for sword practice.

"I can't learn…"

Saying that, she lowered her enormous head, and the pustules began secreting a sticky liquid, like tears of frustration.

You Su pretended not to see, and gently said: "Junior sister, don't rush. The key to this move is not to be perfectly precise as in the Sword Scripture, but to focus on avoiding the opponent's weapon."

Saying so, You Su again danced with the sword, quickly customizing a set of movements close to the third move for the junior sister. Unlike the immortal grace from before, this time, his similar sword gestures gave an impression of wide and open moves.

"The third move is meant for after the second move is broken by the opponent, following the trajectory of brushing the sword from bottom to top, bending arms and embracing the sword to achieve closing the middle path, avoiding the opponent's weapon. In swordsmanship, this is the method of closure. As long as the closing effect is achieved, the details aren't important."

You Su explained while waving the sword, and after finishing a set of sword skills, he retracted the wooden sword to his back, "Do it again following my movements just now. If there's anything you don't remember, you can ask me."

"Okay!" The junior sister nodded heavily; even as a non-human monster, one could still feel the recovery of vitality from her.

Unexpectedly, the junior sister's memory was truly extraordinary; just after watching once, she handled the customized sword technique with ease. No longer troubled by her bulky physique, she executed the achievable movements almost instinctively.

You Su wasn't too surprised, given that Ji Lingruo's comprehension was already not bad. He continued to point out the flaws in her moves and had her correct them, which she accepted humbly. Until finally, You Su even seemed to nitpick, but the junior sister listened to it all, as if, in her eyes, the senior brother was always right.

But the guidance didn't end quickly. The junior sister seemed afraid of correcting herself too fast, sometimes deliberately making repeating mistakes. You Su felt that instead of truly understanding the sword technique, the junior sister valued more the fact of being taught swordsmanship by him.

Realizing this, You Su's feelings became inexplicable. Recalling the dream where the Master's sword was at his throat, was it really meant to take his life? How was he still alive till now then? Perhaps, as the junior sister said, there was a misunderstanding between them.

So far, he had already had three encounters with the monster junior sister, and all he received from her was kindness. Based on this, he could even confirm that the piece of decayed flesh with unknown function would indeed benefit him greatly.

Ironically, the greatest grievance in his blind heart actually came from the junior sister's ugly appearance.

To be honest, if he closed his eyes and couldn't see anything, would he still doubt that the entity before him wasn't his junior sister?

No, because it's my junior sister. She's just sick, and I will cure her.

Confirming this, You Su gently halted the junior sister's next starting move: "Alright, junior sister, that's enough practice for today."

Disappointment flashed through the junior sister's fish eyes because You Su did not leave but rather looked up at the bright moon.

"Junior sister, what does the moon look like?"

The junior sister also looked up at the moon and described in detail: "It's round, with some dark spots, emitting a pale yellow light."

The corners of You Su's mouth curved slightly, "Junior sister, your description is so realistic, it feels like I saw it with my own eyes."

The junior sister noticed You Su was teasing her, wishing she could hide her greasy bulk into the darkness, unwilling to be exposed under the clear moonlight again.

She tentatively asked: "Senior brother, do you really want to see it?"

"Of course." You Su answered confidently.

"You surely will. After taking the Solid Spirit Elixir, everything will get better."

You Su remembered the time the Master let him eat this decayed flesh, also hinting it could restore his sight. The junior sister's description was more exaggerated. Thinking about the origin of this flesh, You Su grew more curious about the evil spirit within the junior sister.

"Thank you, junior sister, for giving me such a precious elixir. Its potency is remarkable, are there no side effects?"

"None." The monster's tone was very confident; then suddenly, as if remembering something, added, "What if one day, when you can see, you find the world isn't what you thought?"

"There will be disappointment, but more excitement; if the world were exactly as you imagined, wouldn't that be too boring?"

"That's true. And… what if I look different from what you imagined?"

"Wouldn't that mean you're not my junior sister?" You Su logically countered.

The junior sister was shocked by this response, frozen in place, saliva flowing from her mouthparts, and both the open and close of pores and movement of whiskers accelerated. She stared at You Su, as if entranced.

You Su's words were intentionally one part and sincerely nine parts. The junior sister, Master, and their master were the three most important people in his world, and no matter what they became, it wouldn't change this fact.

Seeing the junior sister not responding for a while, You Su turned to look, ready to explain further, only to find the junior sister no longer in place. Moreover, everything around began to distort, and after a dizzying spin, darkness and mist once again shrouded You Su's vision.

At this moment, familiar knocking sounded, and Ji Lingruo's light voice came again:

"Hey You Su, hurry up and wake up! This girl has practiced swordsmanship all night and is starving. Go buy breakfast quickly."
