Chapter 25 - Chapter 25: Slaughter, Slay Evil Immediately

The Ren Sheng Group's base had turned into a Purgatory.

To describe it as a mountain of corpses and a sea of blood might be an exaggeration, but severed limbs and mangled torsos littered the ground every few steps.

Feng Yin walked through the carnage, his every step squelching in slippery blood. Yet, the moment his foot left the ground, the Armor completely absorbed the gore.

Looking around the courtyard, he was the only living person left. He had lost count of how many he had killed.

Feng Yin only knew that the "Bloodthirst" Traits of his Wolf Slaughter Form granted a Recovery of one point of Armor Durability for every ten enemies killed. And right now, his Armor's Durability had experienced a Recovery from its initial 8/15 to 12/15.

That meant he had killed at least forty people!

Whether it was those rushing out from within the Ren Sheng Group, or the reinforcements charging in from the outer Ren Sheng District... every single enemy who dared attack him was ruthlessly cut down in a single strike by his Canfeng Sword. The weapons in his enemies' hands—steel pipes, Wooden Blades, real swords, and even makeshift spears—could hardly even touch him.

Feng Yin didn't just recklessly charge in relying on his Armor's protection; he cherished every single point of Durability.

When faced with large crowds, he relied on his formidable Mobility combined with his Stealing Step to break out of encirclements. It was precisely because of this one-against-many combat experience that Feng Yin finally understood why Xie Yanran had praised him for having "good eyes," a rarity even among Martial Artists.

His eyesight was indeed exceptional. So much so that when he focused entirely on the battle, he could perfectly trace the attack trajectories of the Ren Sheng Group's lackeys.

It was a peculiar sensation. Although it wasn't as exaggerated as the "seeing others move in slow motion" trope often found in fantasy fiction, he could clearly see everything and had more than enough time to react. The result of this was that, when the enemy numbers were sparse, he could rely on his superior strength and Speed to intercept their attacks mid-swing. For anything he couldn't intercept in time, he utilized his Body Technique to evade.

In other words, he had single-handedly slaughtered his way through the Ren Sheng Group without taking a single scratch.

Feng Yin thought, "Strange... I've killed so many people, so why hasn't the Leader of this Ren Sheng Group shown up yet?"

He took another lap around the various buildings within the Ren Sheng Group's base. Aside from the women he had freed by casually slicing off the door locks, he didn't see anyone else. The man he met the other day, Yamanamikawa, as well as the Leader "Kondo" that Yamanamikawa had mentioned, and the new expert who had recently joined them, "Saito"... He didn't see a single one of those three.

Among those he had slain tonight, and those who had fled in terror from his fierce might, there was no one who seemed to possess a level of martial prowess beyond that of an ordinary person.

He wondered, "Is it just a coincidence? Did they go out together?"

Feng Yin couldn't tell if he felt disappointed or relieved. He had prepared himself to be besieged by at least three Fierce Level fighters tonight, yet all he ended up doing was slaughtering a bunch of regular thugs.

"Forget it, it's about time I left," he reasoned. "If I drag this out too long and actually attract the official guards, it'll be quite troublesome. Right now, even in my Armor state, it would be difficult for me to match a modern firearm unit."

As a civilized person hailing from Earth, Feng Yin was well aware of the lethality of modern firearms. He certainly didn't think he could fend off highly trained Armed personnel just by relying on his Armor.

In his current armored state, he was roughly equivalent to a humanoid bear or tiger with enhanced defense. Dealing with enemies wielding cold weapons was no big deal, but facing modern firearms head-on would still put him under immense pressure. Even a small, coordinated squad of gunmen would be beyond his ability to overcome.

With this in mind, Feng Yin stopped dwelling on the matter, turned around, and left the Ren Sheng Group's base.

Outside the first-floor podium of the Death Madness Tower.

The Leader of the Ren Sheng Group, Kondo Makoto, alongside his trusted confidant Yamanamikawa and over a dozen subordinates, stood quietly in the pristine plaza.

"Boss... isn't this Ya Lie putting on a bit too much of a show? We've been waiting since nine o'clock, and it's already past Four in the morning. He's not messing with us, is he?" Yamanamikawa quietly leaned close to Kondo Makoto, unable to hold back his muttered complaints.

Kondo Makoto was not particularly tall and sported a mustache on his upper lip. He didn't look like the Leader of the Ren Sheng Group; instead, he resembled an amiable merchant. Shaking his head slowly, he patted Yamanamikawa's shoulder. "Do not speak carelessly of the strong. We are the ones asking him for a favor, so it's only right that we wait."

Beside the two stood a slicked-back-haired young man with a cold face and sharp eyes. He spoke in a flat tone, "Kondo, with me joining, our victory in the duel a few days from now is guaranteed. What need is there for you to resort to these dirty tricks?"

"Enlightenment, you're still too young." Kondo Makoto reached out to pat the young man's shoulder, but the latter slightly turned his body to dodge. Kondo paused for a moment before a gentle smile resurfaced on his face.

He continued, "Besides, ninety-nine out of a hundred people staying here in Sin City are violent felons. Since we're dealing with criminals anyway, isn't it perfectly normal to use some underhanded methods?"

As he spoke, Kondo Makoto smilingly pointed at the young man named Enlightenment. "Even you, Saito Gaku, didn't you slaughter dozens of people in broad daylight before being thrown in here? When it comes to committing crimes, I'm afraid that over ninety percent of the people on this island haven't killed as many as you."

Saito Gaku cast a disdainful glance at him, his voice growing ever colder. "Do not try to use rhetorical tricks to equate me with the likes of you. The eighty-three people I cut down were all scum from a heinous syndicate—people who forced the innocent into prostitution, ran illegal casinos, peddled drugs, and even engaged in organ trafficking...

"I have a clear conscience regarding my actions. Accepting arrest was merely my way of cooperating with the justice of the law."

He calmly spat out Four words: "This is, slay evil on sight!"

Kondo Makoto and Yamanamikawa were thoroughly intimidated by the young man's icy conviction, leaving them speechless for a moment.

A round of applause suddenly rang out from a distance. The group immediately looked over, only to see a burly man with unkempt long hair slowly walking toward them while clapping his hands.

"Excellent, excellent, excellent! Slay evil on sight, indeed." As he drew closer, they got a clear look at his appearance. He looked ferocious and arrogant, his brow thick with an intense, murderous aura, as if he would cut someone down over the slightest disagreement.

Upon seeing this man, Kondo Makoto and Yamanamikawa eagerly stepped forward to greet him. Kondo Makoto slightly bowed his head. "Mr. Ya Lie, are you finished with your business?" This man was none other than Ya Lie.

"Business?" Ya Lie threw his head back in a hearty laugh. "I wasn't busy! It's just that the Dancing Girl today had such incredible skills that I completely lost track of time. I couldn't help but stick around for half the night, HAHAHAHA!"

"So you're saying..." Saito Gaku stepped forward with a frosty expression, his right hand already resting on the hilt of his sword, "...you intentionally left us hanging out here for so long?"

Ya Lie reined in his laughter and lowered his gaze slightly to look at Saito Gaku. "Oh? Are you planning to draw your sword against me? So far, not a single person who took the initiative to draw their blade on me has lived to tell the tale." As he spoke, his hand slowly drifted down to rest on the hilt of the blade at his waist, his eyes gleaming with growing excitement.

An invisible tension permeated the space between the two of them, and a freezing, needle-like killing intent radiated outward. Kondo Makoto and Yamanamikawa involuntarily took two steps back, their expressions changing drastically.

Both of them were capable fighters who had stepped into the Fierce Level, and they were noticeably older than the two confronting Blade Masters. Yet, astonishingly, they actually felt fear amidst this standoff's killing intent.

"Two monsters!" Kondo and Yamanamikawa couldn't help but think to themselves.

Meanwhile, the confronting Ya Lie and Saito Gaku completely ignored the bystanders. Their only targets right now were each other.
