"Jade Capital Purple Star Daoist Core Secrets" is a traditional Daoist cultivation technique, with a clear cultivation path:
Refining Essence into Qi, Refining Qi into Divinity, Refining Divinity into Void, Refining Void into Dao. Cultivating to the Mahayana realm, naturally achieving the Three Flowers Gathering at the Top and the Five Qi Towards the Source, ultimately only needing to overcome heavenly tribulation to ascend to the celestial realm in broad daylight.
During the practice, Primordial Monarch Taixu also explained some basic cultivation systems to Chu Xuan.
Like the "Jade Capital Secrets", it carries on the line of ancient Qi cultivators' Inner Core method, belonging to the most common sect.
Some sects specialize in Outer Core, others in flying swords, let alone Buddhists, demons, monsters, and gods, each having their own path to the Dao.
There is also a line specializing in the cultivation of the mind. When one's mind reaches enlightenment, naturally one will have great magical power and divine techniques, thereby being able to ascend in broad daylight.
But this path demands extremely high innate talent, perception, and temperament. Few purely walk this path, and cultivators often supplement their practice with mental cultivation, commonly known as "tempering the Dao heart".
Because each path to the Dao is different, even though the current society divides cultivation realms into nine, aside from among those with the same cultivation, terms like Qi Cultivation, Foundation Establishment, Golden Core, and Nascent Soul are hardly used, being replaced with first to ninth realm as an alias.
Upon hearing this, Chu Xuan curiously asked, "Monarch, which realm is your cultivation?"
"It is rumored externally that I am at the ninth realm." Taixu only offered a vague answer; rumored to be ninth realm, was it the eighth or ninth?
Naturally, Chu Xuan did not ask outright, as at this moment, he was not qualified to inquire about such secrets.
Nonetheless, the power of Primordial Monarch Taixu still left Chu Xuan astounded, no wonder the Hehuan Sect dared not directly confront her; she was indeed among the top tier of the mortal world's cultivators, not to be easily offended.
Furthermore, Taixu was quite evidently not her name, but merely a Daoist title.
"Taixu" is one of the "Five Inherent States," indicating an original state before the world's creation; "Monarch" is a term in Daoism as a title for women who become immortals.
Since she has such a title and is recognized by various factions in the immortal cultivation realm, undoubtedly, this beautiful master of his must have the grace of an immortal!
This made Chu Xuan extremely happy; my luck is incredible, picking herbs and casually finding a spiritual beast, a snow ferret, realizing through cultivation that I have a supreme Immortal cultivation physique, and ultimately clasping onto such an immense support.
This beginning is unprecedentedly marvelous, please cheer for me, celebrate for me.
Yet, it is not entirely stable yet, as before accepting disciples, everything remains unknown. Chu Xuan secretly vowed that these nine lifetimes of accumulated blessings must be tightly held onto without letting go.
The cultivation process went very smoothly; during his first meditation, Chu Xuan found the enigmatic "Qi sensation".
Within merely three days, he absorbed Heaven and Earth Spiritual Qi, forming a dantian and Qi sea, officially becoming a Qi Cultivation practitioner.
This should be the merit of his Celestial Marrow physique, supposedly "naturally aligned with the Dao," providing immense aid in cultivation.
After circulating his energy through a full cycle, Chu Xuan slowly exhaled, opening his eyes filled with vigor.
Taixu sat across from him, her expression tranquil like the calm sea, yet her eyes carried a hint of gentleness.
She knew well that with Chu Xuan's aptitude, this step was effortless, but still did not hesitate to praise, "Well done, in the following three months, you need to cultivate to the completion of Qi Cultivation."
"If you succeed, I will consider taking you as my disciple."
This was Chu Xuan's greatest desire, and Taixu didn't mention distinctions such as "recorded name" or "inner and outer", which was very good news indeed. If he performs well, he could very well become her inheritor.
He nodded forcefully, watched as the icy beauty left, comforted his aggrieved snow ferret, then promptly resumed his cultivation.
This was precisely the life Chu Xuan yearned for.
...
Over the next three months, everything went smoothly, and even intentionally took some time to take his pet out, relaxing his mind.
Typically, long-standing Daoist cultivation techniques often have the saying "Foundation Establishment in a hundred days," which apparently was common in ancient times.
However, with the evolution of the world, laws changed, Spiritual Qi became scarce, and now only a few young cultivators with exceptional talent can easily accomplish this step.
Before a hundred days, Chu Xuan let out a long cry, his voice echoing through the valley, a stream of white clear Qi rose and spun atop his head, indicating the perfection of Qi Cultivation.
Moreover, Chu Xuan felt within himself, knowing he could enter Foundation Establishment at any time, a success rate astonishingly high, if not for the special nature of the cultivation technique, he would need no external assistance whatsoever.
The so-called "Foundation Establishment Pill" in this world is for those with truly lacking aptitude, unable to break through no matter what.
Chu Xuan stood up tall, feeling some emotional contemplation; to know the elder Yuan spent his life without accomplishing Foundation Establishment, while he managed this within three months, was the difference in innate talent and the greatest inequity bestowed by heaven.
Of course, even if you are a cultivation wastrel, in truth, there is still another path, as previously mentioned, the "mind cultivation stream", realizing the Dao in one moment, ascending in daylight.
But that is too ethereal, better to hope for being born well in the next life.
Speaking of his transmigrator cheat, up until now, it hasn't reaped any benefits; perhaps it should best not wait until he becomes a ninth realm cultivator, standing over the world before it arrives.
...
Primordial Monarch Taixu gently stepped through the quiet chamber, gracefully holding the snow ferret.
Chu Xuan tidied his attire and made grand kneeling courtesy towards her, earnestly kowtowing, "I beg you, Monarch, take me as your disciple."
This time, Taixu did not refuse; with a gentle support, Chu Xuan naturally stood up.
Moreover, her demeanor visibly more solemn, even placing the snow ferret aside, "Do you know, for those on the path of cultivation, accepting a disciple is a lifetime event?"
Chu Xuan seriously responded, "I know."
"Do you know that since I began cultivating, it has been nine hundred and seventy-one years, and yet I still have no disciple?"
"I know."
"Do you know that once the disciple relationship is confirmed, there can be no regret?"
"I know."
Actually, Chu Xuan was somewhat surprised; was she already over nine hundred years old? Then again, it makes sense, reaching the pinnacle of cultivation before a thousand years old makes her a super genius indeed.
Taixu nodded slightly and then said, "You and I met because of the lost ferret, thus, we are fated."
"Bringing you back to the mountain these past six months, I've seen your daily conduct, and in terms of disposition, understanding, and talent, I am satisfied."
"In accordance, I can give you an opportunity."
"My only requirement for disciples is this: in the future, you must heed my words. Can you do it?"
Chu Xuan nodded firmly, saluted once again with deep respect, "As a disciple, I will follow master's commands, without remorse even unto death!"
Primordial Monarch Taixu's eyes showing solace, she softly said, "Rise, from now on, you are my student."
Chu Xuan didn't expect that the apprenticeship ceremony was this simple, but he felt ecstatic nonetheless.
As for the term "obedience," its scope was indeed broad, but after these six months together, Chu Xuan felt quite comfortable with Primordial Monarch Taixu's character.
Moreover, as a disciple, listening to the master is naturally the right thing to do, isn't it?
