Chapter 15 - Chapter 15: Warning

With one successful strike, Chu Qing did not stop.

Because something was off!

Chu Qing was an assassin; he had no intention of interrogating the person before him.

Having been involved with the Mirror of Sin, he knew these people well.

Trying to get information from their mouths was harder than reaching heaven.

Unless one had Martial Arts like the Life and Death Talisman to extract a confession, it was best not to attempt.

Moreover, Chu Qing knew who was standing behind him.

So he didn't need any information at all.

Thus, with that sword just now, he had no intention of showing mercy... he just wanted the other person dead!

Chu Qing was using Ah Fei's Swift Sword, mastering the three key principles: speed, precision, and ruthlessness.

By reason, with that strike... the target should be dead!

However, he was still alive.

Though missing an arm, he remained alive.

If he had been prepared, could he have dodged my sword?

Who was he?

These questions didn't linger long in Chu Qing's mind; the moment he realized the adversary was no simple character, the decision was simple...

Strike!

The assassin with a severed arm didn't fall as his feet touched the ground.

His form didn't sway in pain even a little.

His feet rubbed against the ground as he landed, using the momentum to slide back, while simultaneously, his left hand holding the sword made a slight backward flick, the long sword left his hand, and at the instant when palm and hilt were level, he reached out intending to grasp the hilt.

"Since you've severed one of my arms, it will be repaid with life!"

Calmness is the basic quality of an assassin.

Thus, even as the situation changed too quickly, he instantly analyzed the current situation.

Someone was secretly ambushing, and that person's sword was extremely fast.

However, severing his arm, the attacker must be complacent... a perfect opportunity for counterattack!

Compared to pondering who ambushed him and why here,

those questions were irrelevant and could be considered after killing him.

In the blink of an eye, just as this Mirror of Sin assassin was about to grasp the hilt, thinking he could secure victory, what greeted him was a sharp edge.

Before the sound arrived, the sword did!

Swoosh!

The long sword pierced his throat, followed by a horizontal slice... half of the neck was cleanly severed, and blood sprayed like rain.

With the head in a mask drooping towards the other end, his eyes remained in shock.

Was his prediction wrong?

Why didn't the attacker show a bit of negligence?

Besides, it was from a high place, how could he muster the energy to strike again in mid-air?

These questions, however, could only accompany him to the Underworld.

With a clatter, the assassin's sword finally dropped to the ground, making a crisp sound.

Everything was over.

In the heat of battle, being a moment slow meant the difference between life and death.

Chu Qing saw him completely dead and let out a gentle sigh.

The Golden Swan Skill was not your typical wall-climbing martial art; its role in combat was surprisingly large.

If he hadn't used the Golden Swan Skill to gain momentum, that sword wouldn't have been so fast.

"After all, assassinating someone like Chu Yunfei, it's as expected that the one arranged here wouldn't be ordinary."

Chu Qing sheathed his sword and glanced at the body on the ground.

Feeling somewhat displeased...

The meticulously cleaned room was now stained.

The Mirror of Sin, truly despicable.

He came to the corpse and checked, finding nothing on it.

Though this was to be expected.

Assassinating Chu Yunfei wasn't so easy, how could the assassins bring anything on them?

If they failed and were killed, it would benefit the opponent, wouldn't it?

As for why Chu Qing initially could find that letter and silver on the other assassins... they simply didn't regard Chu Qing, thinking it was a sure deal, that Chu Qing was bound to die.

Thinking of this, veins throbbed on Chu Qing's forehead, and he felt even more agitated.

After completing the task, Chu Qing did not deal with the body.

One of his purposes for coming was to warn Chu Yunfei that the Mirror of Sin intended to kill him.

Though that person's arrival made him reconsider, the intention to warn Chu Yunfei wouldn't change.

Now providing him a Mirror of Sin assassin's body, could there be a better warning?

Of course, meantime, there needed to be some commotion, or else by the time Chu Yunfei discovered the body here today, it might already be too late.

Stepping out of the room, Chu Qing soared onto the rooftop.

He uncovered a few tiles and threw them into the courtyard.

Only after did he suddenly realize:

"Does this count as unroofing a house?"

The breaking of tiles made a considerable noise, soon attracting the attention of the Chu Family, as a servant opened the courtyard door and first saw the broken tiles on the ground, next noticing the assassin's body partially blocked by the door.

His face changed dramatically at once:

"Not good, something happened!"

Without checking further, he hurried out to call for others.

Before long, many notified servants gathered at the scene.

There were also martial artists searching around, but by the time they climbed onto the roof, Chu Qing had already changed places.

At this moment, a young man as elegant as jade stepped through the crowd into the courtyard.

The surrounding servants and martial artists saluted upon seeing him:

"Young Master."

Seeing the body in the room and the surrounding environment, Chu Tian's face turned extremely grim.

But he didn't erupt; instead, he meticulously examined.

Moments later, he slightly frowned:

"What a fast sword..."

He stood where the Mirror of Sin assassin should have stood, looking up at Chu Qing's desk.

The blood scattered beside the desk caught his eye.

Which made him suddenly look up at the beam:

"Struck from above... slicing off the assassin's arm.

"Then, descending swiftly, without hesitation striking again, pierced his throat, and severed half his head.

"How ruthless, how decisive!

"How fierce!"

Thinking of this, he suddenly looked back at the assassin's sword:

"The position is wrong... he tried to counterattack, but failed.

"What amazing people, one as decisive with a swift and ruthless sword technique, the other, despite losing an arm, remaining calm contemplating a counterattack.

"Such quick adaptability during battle is admirable... but why cause trouble in my third brother's room?

"Moreover, the styles of these two seem somewhat..."

Turning around, he leaped onto the roof.

The vista was empty, his thoughts turned, and he glanced at the people in the courtyard, next his eyes showed a moment of confusion and he muttered:

"Who could it be?"

"Elder brother!"

Chu Fan's voice suddenly resonated.

Chu Tian came back to his senses, sighed, leaping down from the roof, seeing Chu Fan and Sister Wen approaching.

What surprised Chu Tian, however, was why Sister Wen had a carrying pole on her shoulder?

"Where did Miss Wen get that?"

Chu Tian asked instinctively.

Sister Wen, always with the same expression to everyone, emotionlessly uttered two words:

"Picked it up."
