At the end of the Cretaceous Period, the meteorite that struck the Gulf of Mexico carried the Divine Wood Seed, and in that era, the Divine Wood once grew on Blue Star, only to be expelled by the enraged World Consciousness with the upheaval of a giant volcano.
The initial version of the Divine Wood bore fruit and left Blue Star, but it also parasitized numerous seeds deep within the Earth's crust.
The age of dinosaurs thus met its end, but the departing Divine Wood carried with it many of the dinosaurs' descendants and genes, which caught the eye of someone in the Black Mist Council.
