Chapter 283 - 283: Juggernaut's Entrance

"F***, Ajax! Get out here already! I'm going to smash your face in!"

Wade ducked behind a half-broken wall as bullets whizzed past him, his usual mix of irritation and amusement smeared across his bloodied face. The mercenary waved toward the base, shouting like a lunatic, hoping to draw Ajax out.

Not far away, Kurogai stood silently, arms crossed, watching the firefight with detached indifference. Bullets zipped past him, but they passed harmlessly through his body, phasing as though he weren't really there, clattering against the ground.

The gunfire finally stuttered to a halt. Inside, Ajax's men were peeking nervously from the windows, magazines empty, scrambling to reload.

Wade laughed, voice raw and mocking. "Out of ammo already? Ha! Ajax, I'm gonna come in there and tear you a new one!"

Despite his body riddled with bullet holes, blood streaming from dozens of wounds, Wade barely seemed to notice. Excitement sparked in his eyes as he bolted toward the base. But another wave of automatic fire erupted, forcing him to retreat, cursing all the way.

"Come on, coward! Don't just hide behind guns. Let's fight hand-to-hand! I promise to carve you up real careful—make it nice and slow!" Wade shouted, his nonsense filling the air as he looked for an opening.

Both sides knew the truth: Wade's regenerative powers made him practically unkillable. Gunfire only delayed the inevitable. He would break into the base eventually, no matter how many bullets they threw.

Kurogai, however, was growing impatient. He muttered under his breath, "Enough of this. Time to test my ability."

His eyes shifted, the dark irises flashing into a luminous violet as circular patterns rippled across them. An almost regal coldness washed over his expression. Slowly, he raised both arms to his sides, feeling power coil within him.

An invisible force lifted his body upward. The ground trembled as a tremendous energy erupted outward.

"Shinra Tensei," Kurogai whispered.

A devastating wave of repulsive force blasted out from him, radiating in all directions. The base—once a fortified stronghold—crumbled like paper under the impact. Walls shattered, roofs collapsed, steel beams twisted like clay. Within seconds, nothing remained but rubble, the earth itself carved into a perfect circular clearing.

Wade groaned as he crawled from beneath a broken concrete slab, bruised and bloodied but alive, as always. "Ow! That hurts my feelings, Kurogai! You seriously tried to kill me? Right through the heart!" He clutched his chest theatrically, whining in mock despair.

Kurogai pinched the bridge of his nose. "Wade… with your healing factor, you'll be fine. Stop being dramatic."

Wade popped up, dusting himself off. "Not the point! My heart is fragile! And you—you broke it."

"Wade," Kurogai sighed, "if you keep running your mouth, Ajax will already be dead by the time you get there."

That snapped Wade back into focus. He gasped. "Oh hell no! Ajax! Don't you dare die before I get my revenge!"

He sprinted toward the ruins. Just as he arrived, the ground trembled violently. Rocks exploded outward as three figures emerged from beneath the rubble.

Two looked ordinary enough—Ajax's lackeys. But the third towered over them like a living mountain. Nearly three meters tall, a walking mass of muscle wrapped in crimson armor, his presence radiated raw destruction.

Wade froze, jaw dropping. "Oh, f*** me sideways… Juggernaut?! No way! How the hell are you working with Ajax? What are you, his long-lost love child?!"

The giant's helmeted head turned toward Wade. He didn't answer—he just charged. The earth shook with every thunderous step.

"Deadpool! I'm going to rip you apart!" Juggernaut's voice roared like rolling thunder.

Wade's panicked scream echoed. "Aaah—nope, nope, nope!" He tried dodging, but Juggernaut slammed into him like a freight train. The ground cracked from the impact.

Kurogai's eyes narrowed as he observed from above, floating effortlessly in the air. Juggernaut's size and raw strength were impressive, his fists powerful enough to crush steel. To most, he was unstoppable. But to Kurogai, he was just another variable.

"This is unexpected," Kurogai thought, frowning slightly. "Juggernaut wasn't supposed to be here. Ajax must have hired him… or struck a deal."

Meanwhile, Wade was being torn apart—literally. Juggernaut ripped off one of his legs, swinging it aside like trash, then smashed Wade into the dirt.

"Come on, big guy!" Wade wheezed, still mouthing off through the pain. "Don't you have, like, an ethics code or something? This is just workplace harassment!"

Juggernaut ignored him, slamming him again. Wade's healing kept him alive, but the punishment was brutal.

Kurogai watched silently, lips curling faintly. Truthfully, Wade's endless chatter deserved this beating. For now, he would let Juggernaut have his fun. But he knew the real fight—the one that mattered—was about to begin.
