Location: Land of Lightning –
Hm, so while he was tending to Hikaru—since he was like the only one with medical skills good enough to heal injuries this severe and this intricate—mind you, every member of his squad knew, at bare minimum, the basic Healing Jutsu.
Some requirements for his squads were simple: basic Healing Jutsu and basic seal understanding. The Genjutsu stuff was heh, but they should at least be able to recognize when they were inside one.
Other requirements were the usual ANBU stuff—being a jounin in stats, you know, so on and so forth. And since his team usually faced the hardest missions—we're talking about downright suicidal shit, like going to the Land of Cloud and killing someone the Raikage was protecting—you know, that type of devious timing.
That last one was dangerous. We don't talk about it. TL;DR, they were quite the dangerous bunch.
Speaking of which, his other self should be making contact with Nagato about now. Either that, or mastering Sage Mode, getting ready to destroy the Cloud Village or something. Either one. He'd still have to talk to Nagato later, since he knew he existed—and the man was an Uzumaki, after all.
Anyway, healing such destroyed eyes was a pain in the ass. Very complicated. He had to make sure all the nerves were properly attached, since currently, Hikaru was seeing floaters.
So yeah, he had to be quite thorough with his shit.
This ended up taking like two hours. He had to summon a small Katsuyu for some of that healing liquid.
Now, finally, the eyes were good to go.
"I—I'm sorry, Commander... I didn't mean to slow the team. I just—should've seen it coming... I—"
He had imbued the strength of, like, twenty Byakugan in that shit. Whether his eyes evolved or not... that would be for later.
He 100% wasn't planning on using him to destroy the current Hyuga system or something.
Plus, Hikaru would feel grateful to him in a sense, and whatever powers he got from this, he got to keep—so yay.
"You didn't slow us down."
Hikaru blinked, stunned.
Seijuro didn't look up. He just kept healing. His voice was low—steady.
"You were a target. A hostage. That's not your fault. If anyone should apologize..." He sighed quietly. "It should be the ones who let you carry that seal for this long."
Hikaru's head dropped. "I'll get stronger..."
He then placed a seal over his forehead to temporarily protect his Byakugan.
"I will summon them now," he said calmly—though not here.
He walked toward where the Aburame had placed all of his deadliest bugs. Once there, he watched as one of his Hiraishin kunai fell.
There was enough poison in that pit to kill 400 ninja.
Good.
He made a single hand seal. A subtle flick of his fingers.
In the next instant—
BZZZT—BOOM!
Five cloaked ROOT shinobi reappeared in a violent crack of space-time distortion, landing hard in the middle of the pit.
"W-WHAT THE—?!"
One of them spun, kunai drawn. Another reached for a scroll.
Too late.
The poison took effect, and they all passed out, unable to move at all. Luckily for them, the poison didn't prevent them from speaking... just, moving.
While they didn't say shit, he waited for one of the Aburame bugs to hand over the scroll they were carrying.
When he got it, he opened it and began reading the contents inside.
The Content:
An intact and decrypted Byakugan Seal schematic
Chakra flow notes
Suppression pathways
Weaknesses
Surgical extraction methods
A full breakdown on how the Nara and Yamanaka clan jutsu worked
Even some of the Aburame techniques were listed
Inoichi swore. "That's top-secret. If Kumo got this..."
The ROOT leader—still restrained—grinned through bloodied teeth.
"We were just the diversion squad."
A stillness followed.
"Kumo... Kiri... they've probably already received the actual seal."
"Your Hokage's leash? It's too short to reach that far."
Seijuro exhaled slowly. Not a sigh of defeat—just tiredness.
"So be it."
He turned to Shikaru.
"Bag them. Deliver them to the T&I corps under Inoichi. I'll draft the report."
Shikaru nodded silently. The rest of the ANBU moved in with brutal efficiency.
As Seijuro walked off to the edge of the camp, a strange look passed over his face. Not anger. Not even frustration.
Just cold assessment.
"So this was the plan all along, huh, Danzo..."
"...Let the world burn, just so you could leave a legacy."
His whole team was moving with urgency. They could not, and I repeat, could not let this shit slide. All of them were involved in this somehow, except Seijuro. His Kekkei Genkai wasn't something people could copy. Meanwhile, the Nara and Yamanaka had a very valid reason for their reaction.
Hikaru would have to report the info he found back to the clan elders.
This intel would definitely change the way Konoha's clan system worked.
'Danzo... guess even in death you're still such a horrible person,' Seijuro thought to himself.
While yes, he wanted to use Danzo a while back, he realized—while it would've been easy—he'd much rather have had him killed. The guy, for some odd reason, gave him very bad vibes. The type of vibe that reminded him of the corrupt assholes he used to know who had way too much fucking power.
