Chapter 54 - Two Hundred Billion Credits

"What the hell!"

Silver Wolf stared at the data schematic on her mini-computer screen and cried out in shock.

At this moment, her virus program was acting like it was on drugs—it had broken through three layers of super firewalls in one go!

Herta?

Screwllum?

All trash!

In less than three seconds, it had already infected the IPC's main account, and right now, it was constantly stealing credits—one billion credits every second!

"How the hell did you do that?!"

Silver Wolf asked excitedly, her eyes full of admiration for Lucian.

The little scrap virus program she had casually written had turned into something this powerful after Lucian tweaked it!

"Secret. I'll tell you if there's a chance later."

Lucian smiled and said nothing more.

Upon hearing his answer, Silver Wolf understood these were a hacker's trade secrets, so she did not press further.

Either way, she was more than satisfied to make the IPC suffer today.

Silver Wolf sat on the steps, swinging her legs, clearly in a good mood.

Half an hour later, just as the two of them succeeded in stealing two hundred billion credits, the alarms in the headquarters building suddenly blared.

*WOOO!* *WOOO!* *WOOO!*

"WARNING! WARNING! MAIN ACCOUNT IS UNDER HACKING ATTACK!"

In an instant, all of Pier Point came alive as countless nanobots formed a defensive net that covered the entire planet.

"Tch, now things got a little more troublesome..." Silver Wolf quickly shut down her virus program to avoid being traced. "Come with me, I'm gonna get you out of here."

As she spoke, Silver Wolf glanced at Lucian, who, surprisingly, stayed calm and cool, not worried at all, acting like he wasn't even involved.

Silver Wolf frowned, feeling like something was off with him, but with her sharp mind, she quickly figured out why he was acting this way.

"You... Don't tell me... You're wearing a disguise?!"

Silver Wolf blurted out, pointing at Lucian's face.

"Duh, I'm not stupid." Lucian shrugged, looking completely unfazed. "If I know I'm about to do something shady, why would I use my real face for a wanted poster? Alright, where's the real you? I'll send you home safely."

He was planning to use Absolute Hit to send Silver Wolf straight back to the Stellaron Hunters' hideout.

Silver Wolf hesitated, but since this man's skills were the real deal and they were already partners in crime, there was no reason for him to betray her.

A second later, Silver Wolf's hologram nodded and disappeared.

Right after that, some graffiti on the ground suddenly sprang to life, opening up a space portal.

Soon, Silver Wolf stepped out from inside.

Apparently, she had been hiding her real body in some kind of pocket dimension.

"What now? How are you planning to handle this?" Silver Wolf asked with a helpless expression.

"You take the credits for now." Lucian took out a stolen phone and added Silver Wolf as a contact. "Help me launder them, and I'll give you half a percent extra, alright? I'll contact you later."

"Aren't you worried I'll just run off with all the money?" Silver Wolf asked with a speechless expression.

"No, you can't run." Lucian shrugged casually. "If you don't believe me, just ask Elio when you get back. Now, give me your hideout coordinates—I'll send you there."

Upon hearing this, Silver Wolf fell silent.

Hideout?

Didn't that mean the Stellaron Hunters' hideout?

Silver Wolf started to ponder, sensing something fishy about the man before her.

Asking such a sensitive question and recalling the easily breached firewall, she couldn't help but suspect that this man was actually an undercover agent trying to trick her into giving away the location of the Stellaron Hunters' hideout.

'Ah, I get it now...' Silver Wolf thought to herself, feeling like she had uncovered the truth. 'So you're an undercover agent for the IPC, huh? Why else would you ask a wanted criminal about their hideout? No wonder the firewall got breached so easily—it was on purpose all along... Seriously...'

She secretly mocked Lucian in her heart, then gave him the coordinates of an IPC branch office instead.

'Hah, does he really think he can fool me? No way. I can't wait to see his face when he finds out those coordinates are fake.'

She was delighted inside, eager to see how this 'undercover agent' would react.

He would definitely throw a fit and bawl his eyes out when he realized he had been tricked, and maybe his superior would fire him on the spot because of it.

As she was thinking this, Silver Wolf suddenly felt someone grab her arm.

Who else but Lucian?

In the next moment, using Absolute Hit, Lucian tossed Silver Wolf lightly.

'Land her on a chair at the marked coordinates within one second.'

*Whoosh!*

Before Silver Wolf could even react, she had already vanished.

Done with the heist, Lucian removed his disguise and returned to his original appearance.

Now he was nothing more than an unrelated passerby.

Lucian swaggered back to his spaceship and then used Absolute Hit to teleport back to Belobog.

Meanwhile, inside the IPC's headquarters, everyone was busy tracking the flow of stolen credits, determined to catch the hacker.

At this moment, the heads of all departments had already gathered in the conference room.

They were the decision-makers of the IPC, holding authority just below the Aeon of Preservation, Qlipoth, and the IPC's founder.

Madam Scarred Eye: "Even the firewall set by the Genius Society members couldn't stop it? Ridiculous."

Taravan Keane: "Who could break through Herta and Screwllum's defenses so easily?"

Oswaldo Schneider: "Check! Chase! Catch! We must catch the hacker who stole the Corporation's money—dead or alive!"

Arita: "Everyone, calm down. Luckily, we didn't lose much—only two hundred billion credits."

Diamond: "Two hundred billion... that's not just money, that's our reputation. It's the face of the Interastral Peace Corporation, and of Herta and Screwllum."

Of course, since there was still a mysterious helper who had not been exposed, it did not count as a complete embarrassment.

Just then, Diamond received a call from his subordinate, Opal.

[Boss, I'm sure it was Silver Wolf. She was at the headquarters just now, bragging that she could blow up our servers with just a finger!]

[Oh, right, I got thrown off Pier Point by the man she brought. Can you send someone to pick me up?]

Upon hearing this, veins bulged on Diamond's forehead.

'Stellaron Hunters again...'

In the end, upon learning it was the Stellaron Hunters, the IPC made its choice and issued an announcement:

—We announce that Stellaron Hunter Silver Wolf's bounty is raised to 205.1 billion credits, and she must be captured alive.

Meanwhile, at one of the IPC's branch offices, Silver Wolf was surrounded by a group of armed soldiers.

'I was wrong. I shouldn't have tricked you... How was I supposed to know you were really going to send me home...'

Silver Wolf regretted it so much she wanted to cry.

If only she had given Lucian the actual coordinates, she would have gone straight home in a flash. Instead, she ended up teleported onto a leather chair in the IPC's branch reception room.

Not only had her face been caught on camera, triggering the wanted alert, but now she was also surrounded.

Fortunately, it was just a branch office, so the soldiers stationed here weren't that strong. As long as support from the IPC's headquarters hadn't arrived yet, she might still have a chance to escape.

Silver Wolf had learned her lesson.

Next time she met a good guy like Lucian, she would definitely trust him!

She would even bow down to him in thanks!
