Chapter 3: Work, Work, And Work!
It's been a day since Kaito was tasked with doing his exam, and normally that would be easy for him, but now he has to think of something that isn't his eyes. For three hours he pondered about it before a knock came to his door. Kaito opens it thinking it's Akia, but he is surprised to see a ginger headed male, with a serious look, and contrasting to Akia's smile. "Hey, is your Kaito correct?" the kid says with a questioning look. "Y-yeah, who exactly are you?" Kaito asks, raising an eyebrow. "I am with the Senior Community, or in other words your superior." the kid said in a commanding voice. "O-kay, well what does the Senior Community need?" Kaito asks. "Well I-I mean we will be walking you to class for now on, because of recent actions on campus." the senior said. "What actions on campus exactly?" Kaito said, scratching his head. "Well, a kid in your class said that you were suspicious, but can't give any proof why. So for now on, I, Ryume Tsume, will be walking you to class." Ryume said. "Okay then, but the time you took to do all this is making us…three minutes late so far." Kaito says as he checks the time, looking at the clock on the wall.
Kaito got to class as Ms. Sato signaled for him to be seated, her expression looking carefree but serious at the same time. "Okay class, I'll just cut to the chase, I will be extending the time for the exam because why not." Ms. Sato says as the class cheers. "Now, we will be training our powers and combat, so everyone meets at the field." Ms. Sato said, standing out of her chair. The class all went outside, separating into groups based on their powers. "Kaito, what group are you in?" Akia asked as Kaito sat on the bench. "Yeah, go ahead, show us, and with details." Ryume said as he walked past. Kaito scratched his head before his eyes glowed orange, clones appearing from behind him like mitosis. "Orange eyes, you're with me Kaito. Can you believe that?!" Akia said while jumping up and down. Honestly though, Kaito couldn't believe it himself. He knew that his eyes were red so he couldn't explain how they glowed orange.
Ms. Sato said that tomorrow morning, she will be hosting a tournament, and anyone of all classes can join. Most people with powers joined the tournament, but you still have to make the cut seeing how only eighteen kids can actually participate. Aika and Kaito walked to sign the paper. "I think this I can do pretty good at, what about you Aika." Kaito said as he grabbed a pen to write his name. "I don't know, I haven't gotten totally good at making clones so this might be difficult." Akia said as Kaito handed her the pen. "You'll do great, just have to believe." Kaito said. Akia had to go catch her next class, so she high fived Kaito before running down the hallway. Kaito stared at the paper for the tournament, thinking how he could win this thing. "Hm, it seems Kaito thinks he's going to win." Ryume said as he signed his name on the paper. "Okay bro, what is your deal?" Kaito says annoyed. "I just think a student of your caliber definitely doesn't deserve to be here." Ryume says with a chuckle. "Are we going to have a problem?" Kaito said as his eyes glowed a bright orange and a dark red, making the color vermillion. "I don't know, are we?" Ryume said as his eyes glowed green. They both pressed each other, not backing down, Kaito's anger and Ryume's height both showing. "That's enough, I guess the two delinquents are going to need detention." The principal walked to Kaito and Ryume. Kaito and Ryume looked at each other, their eyes going back to normal, and their emotions the same. Kaito ends the day after detention in his dorm room, slumped in his bed and extremely tired. He swiped on his phone as Akia texted him if he was okay, his text back? "I'm fine.".
