Chapter 7 - Chapter 7:The Daring Proposal

It was a lazy afternoon in the school field. We were all gathered in a big circle, ready for a game of Truth or Dare. The groups were finally mixing properly, with the boys—Mustafa, Sajjad, Tirth, Fahad, Asad, and Hassan—and us girls—Daina, Adeline, Fari, Zoha, Jasmine, Hani, Shazia, Aziza, and Alina—all together.

The bottle spun, and its mouth pointed right at Zoha. Daina, with a big grin, was the one to ask. "Truth or Dare?" she said.

Zoha, who was never shy, yelled, "Dare!"

Daina's grin got even bigger. "I dare you to..." she started, but then her voice dropped to a mischievous whisper. Zoha's eyes went wide. "No way!" she shouted, shaking her head. "I'm not doing that! That's too much!"

We all started arguing. Zoha insisted the dare was crazy. Daina insisted a dare was a dare. "You have to do it!" Daina said. "I'm not doing it!" Zoha shot back. "It's not fair! You can't just come up with a dare like that!" The two of them went back and forth, their voices getting louder and louder. It was like watching a cartoon, all big hand gestures and fake anger.

Suddenly, Mustafa walked into the middle of the circle. He put a hand on Zoha's shoulder. "Hey, calm down, Zoha," he said, looking at us girls. "Don't fight. She's not doing the dare." He smiled a little, then added softly, "She's like my little sister, and I won't let her do something she doesn't want to. I'll do it instead."

We all froze. The entire group of girls stared at him. A slow, knowing smirk spread across Daina, Adeline, and Zoha's faces, then across Hani, Jasmine, Shazia, and Alina's. Mustafa, seeing all of us smirking at the same time, suddenly got a very, very bad feeling. His confident smile faded.

Then, we all pointed at him and shouted at the top of our lungs: "PROPOSE FARI!"

Mustafa's face went from pale to bright red in a second. His mouth hung open. He looked completely shocked and confused. "W-what?" he stammered, his eyes darting from us to Fari, who was blushing and staring at the ground. "What... what should I do?"

Zoha, Adeline, and Daina immediately came over, talking all at once. "Okay, so you need a plan," Zoha said. "You should propose in the parking lot," Adeline added. "Near the guard room, so no one can bother you," Daina finished. They were very serious, like they were planning a secret spy mission.

Mustafa just stood there, speechless. He was blushing from his neck to his ears. "No, no way," he finally mumbled, looking very shy. He shook his head, ended the game right there, and walked away from us, still bright red.

The next day at lunch, we were with Fari in the corridor. Mustafa passed by, and we couldn't help it. We all yelled, "Mustafa! Parking lot!"

Fari looked at us, totally confused. "What are you talking about?" she asked. Mustafa just smiled at her innocence and blushed, then quickly went on his way. We all thought he had gone to propose. We spent the rest of the day in a happy haze, thinking our plan worked.

But the next morning, we found out he hadn't.

We all crowded around him. "Did Fari say yes?!" Daina asked.

Mustafa just looked at us, confused. "What are you talking about? I didn't propose to her."

A wave of anger hit us. He didn't do the dare! We started to ignore him. In the lunch break, everyone was ignoring him. He looked a little sad when Fari saw him. She felt bad.

She slowly walked over to him. "Mustafa," she said softly, "What's the matter?"

He looked up at her, and his sad face changed. His eyes lit up, and he just stared at her. He didn't say a word, but his cheeks went bright red. Fari, seeing him get shy like that, felt her own face get warm. She didn't say anything else, just smiled a little and walked away. Mustafa also left soon after, and we all laughed at their shy, sweet moment.

Here's the main plot twist, the part we didn't know: Mustafa's plan was different. He had a big Dairy Milk chocolate bar to propose to Fari with, a big, romantic gesture. No one knew about it. He had it in his bag, planning to give it to her that afternoon.

He walked into the classroom after lunch, ready to get his chocolate. But when he looked at his bag, his eyes went wide. Sajjad was sitting there, happily eating the Dairy Milk he had brought for Fari!

Mustafa's face went from sad to furious in a second. "WHAT ARE YOU DOING?!" he screamed. Sajjad, with a mouthful of chocolate, just looked at him, confused. Mustafa was so angry he couldn't think straight. "I brought that to propose to... to Fareeha!" he yelled.

We were standing in the back of the classroom and we all froze. He said her full name! We were completely shocked.

"Calm down, Mustafa!" Daina said quickly, trying to save the moment. "I have money in my bag! Go buy another one from the shop right now!"

Just at that exact moment, the door opened and Fari and Hani walked in.

"What's going on?" Fari asked, looking at Mustafa's angry face and Sajjad's guilty one.

Mustafa looked at us, then at Fari, then at Sajjad. He gave us a quick, stressed-out look, shaking his head slightly, begging us not to say anything. "Nothing, Fari!" we all said at the same time. "Nothing is going on!"

Later that afternoon, Mustafa ran to the shop and bought another Dairy Milk. He came back to school, looking determined. We were all watching from a distance, our hearts beating fast, waiting for him to finally go to Fari. The time was perfect.

But this story is a total chaos.

Mustafa's smile slowly faded as he saw Fari. She was standing with a boy we had never seen before. He was older than her, and he was smiling and gently patting Fari's head. Fari was smiling back at him, a happy, relaxed smile.

Mustafa stopped dead in his tracks. His eyes went wide, and his whole body went stiff. His face, which had been so full of hope, turned dark with a storm of anger and jealousy. The chocolate he was holding suddenly looked useless. He looked at it, then at them.

With a sound of pure frustration, he threw the Dairy Milk on the ground. It landed with a sad, final SPLASH sound. Then he stomped on it, his foot crushing the chocolate, his face a mask of pure rage. He then grabbed his water bottle and threw it at a nearby wall with a loud bang!

The noise was so loud and angry, it grabbed Fari's attention. She looked up and saw Mustafa. She had never seen him so full of anger before. Her smile disappeared, and her face filled with confusion. He didn't say a word. He didn't even look at her. He just turned, ignored her completely, and walked away.

The rest of us stared after him, completely shocked. What was that? Who was that boy? And what would happen now?
