Chapter 68 - The Throne of Frost and Fire

Guy Crimson stood before the towering presence of Veldora in the heart of the Storm Kingdom. The winds howled like wild beasts around them, and the sky above rolled with dark, heavy clouds, crackling with barely restrained lightning. But none of that mattered now.

He had made his request, and Veldora—ever the curious and proud force of chaos—had agreed.

What followed was not just a battle.

It was revelation.

Guy was humbled and finally evolved to became the 5th Transcendent Demon. After thanking veldora and the rest, he vanished direction the Ice Continent....

The Ice Continent was as it had always been—cold, majestic, silent. Blizzards swept over the sharp mountain peaks, howling like spirits trapped in the wind. Frozen lakes mirrored the grey sky, and crystal palaces stood unmoved by time, their spires piercing the heavens.

In the heart of this eternal frost, deep within a grand citadel carved from eternal ice, Rain and Misery stood quietly in the main hall. Both were powerful Primordial demons, beings of ancient origin and immense strength. Yet, they waited not as rulers, but as loyal attendants—devoted maids—ready to serve the only one they could ever kneel to.

Their master.

And then—

In a sudden blink of silence, the space around the throne shimmered.

A flash—not of lightning, but of presence.

It wasn't loud. It wasn't violent. But it was undeniable.

He had returned.

Guy Crimson, the Lord of Ice, the Demon of Crimson Flame, the Monarch of the North—stood before them.

But this wasn't the same Guy.

Rain's eyes, normally calm and calculative, widened slightly. Misery felt her knees tremble—not from fear, but awe. Both immediately dropped to a deep, respectful bow.

"Welcome home, Lord Guy," Rain said first, her voice even, but there was something hesitant… confused.

Misery followed, bowing even lower. "It is an honor to see you return, my Lord."

Guy didn't speak right away.

Instead, he walked toward the throne slowly, each step echoing through the great hall. His coat, longer than before, flowed behind him with an elegant flair. The crimson embroidery glowed faintly, reacting to the intense energy pulsing from his body. But it wasn't just the clothes.

It was him.

His presence.

It wasn't just powerful—it was different. Majestic. Refined. Awakened.

Rain stood back up slowly, eyes narrowing as she tried to analyze the strange sensation surrounding her master.

"…Lord Guy," she said gently, tilting her head with a rare softness. "If I may speak freely… it seems that you have… changed. Even your energy signature—it feels... elevated. Far more than before. Almost as if…"

She couldn't finish.

Guy let out a small, amused hum as he turned and sat down slowly on his icy throne. The cold beneath him cracked slightly, unable to bear the density of his now enhanced power. He crossed one leg over the other, resting his arm on the throne's side with a calm, yet royal poise.

He smirked.

"You're not wrong, Rain," he said, his voice smooth but now deeper—richer. "I have changed. I have finally reached the pinnacle of what a demon can become."

Rain's eyes widened.

Misery blinked, not sure she heard him correctly.

"I am now," he continued, eyes glowing faintly with a deeper red hue, "a Transcendent Demon."

The words echoed like a thunderclap in their minds.

Rain and Misery both stepped back unconsciously, stunned. A Transcendent? Their Lord, already unmatched in power, had surpassed even the limits of Primordial strength?

"That's… impossible," Misery whispered. "You were already... you were the first… How can this be?"

Guy chuckled, resting his chin on one hand.

"I thought the same," he admitted. "For thousands of years, I believed I had seen the height of what a demon could achieve. I became a Demon Lord. I trained beyond imagination. I mastered the arts of war, of magic, of existence itself."

Guy crossed one leg over the other, his crimson eyes burning with distant memory.

"When I visited the Storm Kingdom, it wasn't just out of boredom. I had a purpose. I wanted to see with my own eyes how large the gap was between me and the Transcendent demons. And Veldora, allowed it."

Rain's brows knit together. "He… allowed it?"

Guy nodded. "He didn't fight me. No. Instead… he let Diablo be my opponent."

The name alone carried weight. Rain and Misery exchanged sharp glances. Of course they knew him—primordial Noir now Diablo, the black-winged monster, the walking catastrophe. The demon whose calm grin sent fear down even a Primordial's spine.

"He's… one of them?" Misery asked carefully.

"Indeed. A Transcendent," Guy replied. "he told me during the angels attack, but I thought… maybe I could at least give him a decent fight."

There was a moment of silence, heavy with unspoken questions.

...."I've fought Veldanava," Guy continued, his voice low. "He's the only one who ever completely overwhelmed me. After him, I thought no one else could ever make me feel that way again. I trained for thousands of years, became a Demon Lord, honed my power, built my dominion… and yet…"

Rain and Misery leaned in, breathless.

"When I faced Diablo, everything I believed about strength shattered. I couldn't land a hit. He was faster, sharper, stronger—like he was made for combat. I gave it everything, unleashed my full might, my deadliest techniques… but I couldn't even scratch him."

He exhaled slowly, remembering.

"I got frustrated. Told him to stop holding back. I wanted to see his real power. Do you know what he said to me?"

They shook their heads.

"He said… 'If I used my real power, this wouldn't be a fight anymore.'"

Misery covered her mouth with one hand. Rain looked like her world had just flipped upside down.

"He… said that to you?" Rain whispered.

Guy nodded, his smile now bitter.

"I didn't want to believe it. I refused to. But then…"

He paused, his voice dropping to a reverent hush.

"He showed me. Just a glimpse… just a fraction of his true self. And in that moment, I understood. He defeated me without even trying. I didn't know what happened. One second I was fighting, the next, I was on the ground, wondering if time had stopped."

The memory burned, but not with shame.

"With Diablo, I realized something important. I had become arrogant. I thought I was the top. But there are still heights I haven't seen. Still paths to climb."

Rain's eyes were glassy. "You… weren't angry?"

"No," Guy said firmly. "I was humbled. Not humiliated—humbled. For the first time in ages, I had something to chase again. A goal beyond my pride."

"So…" Misery finally asked. "How did you… evolve?"

Guy's lips curved again, and this time the smirk was genuine.

"Veldora."

"Veldora?" Rain echoed. "You mean he evolved you?"

Guy nodded. "Yes. The same way he did Noir, Blanc, Violet, and Jaune. He offered me the chance to evolve. Not as a reward… but as a challenge."

"What do you mean?" Misery asked.

"He told me, 'If you want to stand at the summit, then let go of what you think power is. Let me show you what it can be.'"

"And you agreed?" Rain asked softly.

"I did."

The entire room shimmered with cold, unearthly light as Guy slowly raised one hand. His aura—once demonic and chaotic—now glowed like a star forged from pure willpower. It was demonic, yes, but also divine in form. Refined. Perfect.

"He gave me a new name. He renamed me Guy Crimson under his blessing," he said.

Rain and Misery straightened, attentive.

"I am still Guy Crimson, but now I carry Veldora blessing and I am the Demon Beyond Realms."

The title echoed, chilling and awe-inspiring.

Rain lowered her head, trembling. "You've… become something none of us can reach."

"No," Guy said, standing. "I've become something you can chase."

He turned to them, his eyes glowing with renewed purpose.

"This is not the end of the path—it's just a new one. If you wish, I can help you reach higher level of power. To walk beside me. We are Primordials. We are the first. It's time we stop thinking like we're already complete."

Rain and Misery stared in wonder… and for the first time in millennia, felt the hunger of ambition return.
