Chapter 134 - Beacon Part 4

ANIMA DUNGEON DIVE Location the RWBYverse, Remnant-Neo Anima, Oasis

After a while Laharl and the girls. Albedo, Kyoko, Ruby, Cerberus, Kneesocks, Mizore, Daki, Raven, Nero, Ranko, Morrigan, Caulifla, and Setsuna, were right behind their man. The Hunter's Exp system, arrow-marker led them deep into the land of Neo Anima. To a oasis of all things. The arrow-marker, was pointing to a normal ranking, dungeon that seems the pool of clear water, that is the oasis. Whatever the reason that is the entrance to the dungeon. He hopes it isn't a fully underwater dungeon, those are the second most annoying levels in video games. Laharl, he still places the desert levels at the top, regardless of the game...unless the game itself it's fully a desert environment base. Despite this the girls were eager to enter the dungeon, calling fort his Vritra Zanbato, as the girls did their own preparations. And they started walking over to the shoreline of the crystal clear pool of water. The moment that they'd stepped onto the water...

Location the Oasis Dungeon Area 1 They were uddenly in the Anima Dungeon. Laharl he'd almost gasp in awe. For he immediately recognized where they were, Mortavia Aquaducts, from Castlevania: Curse of Darkness. One of his all time favorite PS2 games, and the second of his top five Castlevania games, with Symphony of the Night, right at first place. They looked at water-filled series of aqueducts. Cloaked statues appear everywhere, with some vines and algy growth everywhere. These aqueducts are connected by various towers, and obviously overflowing with water. Just as Laharl and the girls finished admiring the scenery, they'd heard splashing. As two familiar and iconic monsters of a blue merman and a red fishman. Aside from the different colored pallets, the merman spits water attacks, and the fishman fire. Just as the group, was getting ready to take on, anthropomorphic fish monsters, another enemy appeared as well. A couple of floating spirits able to pass through walls. Robed monsters, with glowing menacing eyes, carrying a knife and lantern. So they're also facing Ghosts in this the first aqueduct of this dungeon. Regardless Laharl, Nero, and Cerberus rushed in. As the merman spew a fireball at Nero, who evaded the attack, and in a leaping, spining slash. She'd beheaded the fishman. One enemy down.

Cerberus, the triplets, rush the merman. Who attack the dog-devil, with a roll attack. Only for Vii to kick the rolling merman into the air, causing a lot of damage. Along with stopping the merman's rolling, while Mii and Kii were in the air. Both heel striked the merman, on top of its skull. Smashing it back onto the water-filled aquaduct, and Vii finishes the monster, with a straight right punch, onto the skull of the merman. Taking it out. Meanwhile, Laharl was dealing with the four Ghosts, taking out the first ghost with a horizontal slash, the cursed flames dealing a lot of damage. With a overhead slash, he'd cleaved another ghost. Dealing the final two Ghosts, using his Blade Rush. Rushing forward, in two Blade Rush succession, burning and cutting down the two hooded specters with a nearly impossible to trace technique. All four ghost, let out one last death-groan, fading away, leaving behind four knives, and lanterns in the water. The merman leaving cyan, blue, yellowish-green exp, the fishman left red, and blue exp, and lastly the ghost orange and red exp-drops. A new exp-drop, and wide spread of other exp. Laharl, stored away the ghost items, along with the bodies of the fishman and merman. As the group, congratulated Nero and Cerberus for a awesome display. Making Cerberus happy, and Nero "umu", as they all absorbed the exp-drops together. And immediately a thin, layer of soul and magic fuel energy, gleam on each them. Reacting to their recently unlocked aura... Aura for devils, and exp can be equal to soul energy, not like Bleach, but the actual soul growing stronger, to protect the body.

Another defensive stat. And yellowish-green exp, is soul or aura exp. And another thing. The Exp-drops of a Normal ranked, dungeon it didn't compare to a above easy, or easy dungeon. It was very powerful, and enhanced their stats, greatly. Their Aura level-up immediately, after a few yellowish-green exp-drops. Meaning this dungeon, is going to be quite bountiful for them. As they continued on the Mortavia Aquaducts area. Traversing the water-filled, dungeon area. Facing more fishmen, mermen, ghosts, and a few more enemies. From Bone Soldiers, which are skeletons, downing the armor of a knight. And equipped with a sword and shield. Wolf Skeletons, which are corpses of hounds revived as a undead. Able to hide in thekr own shadows to get close to prey. The Bone Soldiers were easy for Caulifla, Albedo, and Ruby to crush with their greater strength, and force. While Kyoko, Nero, and Daki handled the speedy menaces that are the Wolf Skeletons. At the end. These monsters while tougher than other they'd faced, and the water current, acting against them, it was still easy to handle together. The bone soldiers leaving their skeletal remains and gear, along with purple and red exp-drops. As the wolf skeletons, now scattered pieces of bones, gave solely blue exp, at a large amount. After collecting the remains, they carried on. Taking on more of all those monsters, as they'd progress deeper in the Aquaducts.

Eventually, they'd had to go into the various rooms, and paths of the Aquaducts. Eventually coming face to face with two, annoying, long-ranged stationary enemies. White Dragons, which are basically a serpent like, dragon made of bone, that spews fire. And also the ice varient of Frost Dragons. Which are the same only made and spewers of ice and frost. Daki's obi-strands, Kyoko's shuriken, and Raven's magic dealt with those annoyances when their encountered. As they both gave yellow exp, but the white dragons gave also purple, while the frost dragons gave orange exp. Regardless after fighting dozens, upon dozens of mermen, fishmen, ghost, bone soldiers, wolf skeletons, white and frost dragons. They'd reach the final area. A ornamental door, with the visage of skeleton with arms crossed, and a crown on it's head. Highlighted by magenta and red stainglass, behind said skeleton visage, on the door. The only monster that can be behind that door, is the fourth boss of Curse of Darkness, the Skeleton Diver. Laharl looked at the girls, and told them that he'll take on the Boss alone, cause the platform would be uncomfortable for their numbers. They nodded and walked over to the door, opening it...

DIVER SKELETON BOSS Location the Oasis Dungeon Area 1, Boss Area: Submerged Floodway

After passing through the iconic PS2 Boss Door, in the Castlevania gamesm The young devils, saw a long bridge, the girls wished their man luck, as he'd rested his massive over his shoulder, and walked down the bridge. The girls spouted their wings...with exception of Raven and Caulifla that prefer flying, without the use of wings. Once high enough to see everything, the girls saw Laharl reached the middle of the bridge, and it collapsed over the platform below, just like in the game with Hector. As the waters, surrounding the round platform steered. And out came the Skeleton Diver and the Skull Fish. The Skeleton Diver, being is the skeletal remains of what appears to have been a hunchbacked fisherman. Wearing torn, soaked blue cloak. Armed with a long, skeletal triton. Riding upon a gigantic Skull Fish, which honestly looks more like a bone shark. Immediately the Boss zeroed in on Laharl, swimming beside the platform, as the Skeleton Diver, tossed it triton at him. Only for Laharl to not just grabbed the polearm from the air, but use it to skewer the Boss, and smashed it onto the platform, separating it from it's mount. Not letting the Skeleton Diver, any chance of recovering, Laharl rushed in.

Unleashing a onslaught of heavy slashes. The cursed flames, dealing great amount of damage, as the Vritra Zanbato also drained the undead Boss, strength away. When the Skull Fish, tried to interfere, the girls would attack it, forcing it back into the water. After a while of dealing slashes, and burns on the Skeleton Diver. It managed to block an attack from Laharl, and jump into the water. Reuniting with it's mount. Emerging from the depth together, as the Skull Fish, started blasting a huge laser of electric blues at Laharl. Dodging, Laharl quickly counterattack, with a Dark Bolt, hitting the Skeleton Diver with the dark projectile, knocking it off of the Skull Fish. Making the Skull Fish, stop it's beam attack and go back underwater to retrieve its rider. Laharl, was surprised. Even after all the onslaught he has done, the Boss was still not dead. Another clear difference between normal ranked dungeon, compared to lower leveled one. As the water surface, was being disturbed again. And instead of the duo Boss, only the Skeleton Diver, emerged from the water. Performing it leap attack.

Which Laharl easily dodged said triton attack. And stabbing his Vritra Zanbato onto the back of the Boss. Making the gesture of pain, and struggling against the massive blade, and cursed flames, igniting on the Boss' form. Constantly causing damage on the Boss. As Vritra, Orochi, and Shenron feasting, happily on the Skeleton Diver's energy. When suddenly, his sword blasted a burst of curse flame, engulfing the Boss. Doubling the damage, seems that during the fight a new sacred gear, technique was created. He'll name it later, as Laharl pulled out the Vritra Zanbato, from the Skeleton Diver. As the Skull Fish, emerged suddenly from the water, letting out a death-knell, going under the water. While the Skeleton Diver, fell lifess onto the stone platform. Seem that, that last attack along with the constant draining, really did a number of the Boss. And now the first Boss of the Oasis Boss was taken down. As the girls, started landing around him. Just like Curse of Darkness, the side of the end of the bridge, raised up to a makeshift stairway. As the Skeleton Diver, was spewing green, yellowish-green, cyan, red, and white exp-drops. Quite a spread of exp, and extreme amount. Laharl and the girls, walked over and absorbed all the exp-drops. Leveling up some of their stats. This was a good, initial dive, they'll continue to the next area, for a while, before calling a day. Laharl, he stored away the Skeleton Diver, seems that it was a good idea, to separate the duo, so they don't lose the payout from the selling the Boss. The girls rushed over to him, and kissed him, one by one. A little congratulation, for his win. They started to walk up the makeshift stairs, and seeing the light blue, and white floating ring, the waypoint. As they went over and...

LAND OF SEAS Location the Oasis Dungeon Area 2

They appeared in a flash of white. The devils appeared in a beach area. Raven turned around, and saw a rundown cottage behind them. Laharl, he'd recognized the cottage, that's Zero Cottage from Drakengard 3...meaning this is the first area of said game. The Land of Seas. Ruled by the intoner, named Five, the most gluttonous and lustful of the six intoner...Laharl, he started to think, that he can summon one of those mentioned intoner, free from the Flower, and edit some of their...extreme quirks. As Albedo, she called out to him, getting his attention. He apologized for spacing out. He told them where they are, and a brief review of Drakengard 3. Remembering the game quite well, the Boss should be in the Shrine of Seas, Coliseum. Now with their target set, they started to leave the cottage spot. Entering huge coast, with some ruins at the edge of the area.

As soon as they started making their way, through the beach. They were attacked by arrows. The enemy has appeared, the Imperial Knights. From swordsmen, spearmen, and archers. A few dozen of them. Setsuna, she stepped forward, and raising her left index finger, she'd channeled her demonic energy. Modeling it into a whip of pure energy, her Whip of Light technique, rushing in. Swiping her Whip of Light, lashing and cutting down the Imperial Knights, with ease. Not surprising, because of Setsuna's power, and the imperial knights, are the most common enemy in Drakengard 3. As the knights, fell to pieces, fading into particles. Seems that their not real humans, as green, purple, and red exp-drops was behind by a large amount. Laharl, he kissed and hugged Setsuna, for the good work. If things continue this smoothly, they'd might pass the second area of the Oasis Dungeon, in a couple of hours...
