*Hazel's POV*
Kael's teeth remained in my neck for what felt like an eternity. The connection between us grew white-hot, almost blinding. The bite had unleashed something primal in both of us—something neither of us could control.
"Hazel," he growled against my skin, the vibration sending shivers down my spine. "The energy—it's too much."
I could feel it too—our power spiraling wildly between us. Golden threads had become a raging inferno, threatening to consume us both.
Kael suddenly pushed himself off me, his movements jerky and desperate. His eyes burned gold, tattooed skin writhing with dark power.
"Get out," he ordered, voice raw and strained. "Now."
I stared at him, frozen in place. Blood—my blood—stained his lips. His chest heaved with labored breaths.
"But—"
"Go!" he roared, the sound shaking the walls. "I can't control this much longer."
