Chapter 266 - Chapter 266

As dawn broke, Law was jolted awake by screams echoing through the streets.

Silently, he rose from his bed, donned his hat, picked up his sword Kikoku, and stepped outside.

He didn't need to look, nor did he need to activate his Observation Haki to know—it was Kid again, unable to suppress his bloodlust, tormenting the townsfolk.

Ever since Kid lost all his crewmates, he'd grown increasingly violent and bloodthirsty.

Hailing from the lawless North Blue, Kid was a ruthless man forged in the crucible of death.

Back when the Worst Generation gathered on Sabaody Archipelago, Kid's bounty had firmly topped the list—even surpassing Straw Hat Luffy's.

Yet unlike Luffy, who had defeated two of the Seven Warlords of the Sea and—

Law extended his hand, activating his ability field to sense Kid's location, then instantly vanished from the doorway.

...

In a tavern in Boro Town, Kid was cruelly driving a rusted broken blade through the crossed hands of the tavern owner, pinning the poor middle-aged man to the table in front of him.

"Worthless trash, can't even cook a decent dish. I already told you to bring your little daughter here to drink with me. Did you think I was joking?"

Kid sat sprawled arrogantly, lifting a bowl of liquor to his mouth and gulping it down, spilling as much as he drank.

Some of the alcohol splashed onto the tavern owner's wounded hands, sending waves of excruciating pain through him, making his body convulse uncontrollably.

"Sir, please, I beg you, spare my daughter. She's only twelve. If you want someone to drink with, I'll do it!"

The tavern owner wept in agony, his heart filled with terror.

He hadn't even planned to open for business today.

Though he hadn't witnessed the massacre on the streets yesterday, the screams had echoed throughout Boro Town, terrifying every surviving resident.

But early this morning, the door of his tavern had been kicked in by this very brute, who then demanded food and drink.

Then, under the pretense that the food was bad, the man had driven the blade through his hands, nailing him to the table.

His daughter had been hiding in the back room as instructed—he couldn't understand how this savage man had even known about her.

"You? A disgusting old man? Just looking at you makes me sick. If I had to drink with you, I'd lose my appetite!"

Kid snorted coldly, gripping the hilt of the blade with his right hand and twisting it with a sinister grin.

"AAAAH! Please, sir, spare me! I didn't provoke you—" The tavern owner screamed in agony.

Whoosh.

A figure appeared out of thin air in front of the table—Law.

Kid glanced at him but didn't bother with greetings, continuing to twist the blade.

The unbearable pain soon made the tavern owner pass out.

"Dragon has arrived," Law said abruptly, picking up a bottle of liquor from the table.

Kid paused, then grinned excitedly.

"So they've found a lead on the Pluton. It won't be long before that Ancient Weapon resurfaces. Hehehe... I can't wait. A weapon powerful enough to destroy the world—maybe it can wipe out the entire Beast God Pirates in one shot! That bastard Caesar... I'd love to see the look of terror on his face. HAHAHA!"

"If we don't want to join the Revolutionary Army, we'll need money—to recruit new crew and build a ship," Law said calmly, taking small sips of his drink.

"Money? That's easy—we'll just take it! This is Wano Country—there's plenty to steal. Weren't you staying in the palace? Don't tell me there's nothing valuable there?"

Law shook his head.

Without waiting for Kid's agreement, he raised his hand, and an invisible dome descended, whisking both of them away from the tavern.

Whoosh!

Their figures flickered through the air as if teleporting, heading straight for the coast of Boro Town.

"I found out that Wano has a batch of weapons ready for sale. If we sell them, we could make at least ten billion berries."

With that, Law led Kid straight to the weapons factory.

His words made Kid burst into laughter.

"Aren't Wano Country's weapons meant for Caesar's Beast God Pirates anyway? Hahaha! Taking them is only right—let that bastard Caesar feel the sting of loss! Hahaha..."

Before his laughter could fade, a golden streak of light, swift as a shooting star, suddenly cut across the distant horizon.

In the blink of an eye, it was upon the two of them.

"What the hell is that?" Kid froze.

But then he noticed Law beside him—his pupils dilated, his body trembling.

The golden light streaked through the sky like a blade, splitting Wano Country's gloomy heavens.

In an instant, it sliced through the barrier Law had erected.

The terrifying impact unleashed a gale-force wind, hurling both of them from the sky!

BOOM!!
