A red light crossed the skies and right in the middle of all that power was a vampire said to be the second strongest, Solin Valessia of that dimension, only behind the most important counselor.
"Father, I hate them too, but if we want to make a big move we should wait for the boy I told you about."
Seeing his daughter holding on to the castle door so she wouldn't be blown away, he calmed down, though still with murderous thoughts. All those who are part of the council would be killed by them no matter what.
"Frederico, send a message to those rebellion vampires that I will join them in this war."
"Yes, master."
The man who had suddenly appeared quickly vanished upon hearing the orders, leaving no trace. Furious, Solin clenched his fist. He could have gone and eliminated all the vampires of Sanos in just a second, but if he did that, that other trash from the council would do the same with his territory. That was the reason he listened to his daughter. He had just reunited with her, and after everything she went through, he didn't want to lose her again.
"My daughter, you've been through so much, so leave the rest to me."
"Alright, father."
Solin gave his daughter a hug after a long time apart, and Ysabella hugged him back, having missed him.
'I didn't tell him everything I went through.'
She kept some things hidden for two reasons: one was because her father wouldn't listen and would immediately go after all those bastards, and the other was smaller—she wanted to take revenge on Malakar herself.
"Father, I need to tell you about the blood that vampire Sylas brought. Maybe it could make you evolve to circle ten."
"The boy who rescued you, right? Alright, I'll speak with him."
He urgently needed power, and if he could evolve his circle now, it would be better. He didn't fully trust Sylas, but since he saved his daughter's life, he would give him a chance to see if he was right.
"And the humans outside, why did he release them?"
"He said it was part of his plan and also asked me to take care of them for a while until he came."
It was strange—there weren't many vampires besides those in the rebellion who saved humans, and even then, they usually did it in exchange for blood. The rebellion existed because the number of vampires kept decreasing, and being the third most hated race in the world for what they did, one day, if things continued, they would be extinct. So, for the future of their race and to survive, they would try everything to ally with other races, even if it was difficult.
"Well then, let them pass, and I'll warn that none of the vampires in our territory attack them."
"Alright, father."
Ysabella turned to deliver the news to the humans and elves of their temporary protection. Solin held expectations, since if that blood could really make him evolve, defeating Draven would be possible.
'He's three steps ahead of me to reach circle ten… He's the only one who can kill me, but if I grow stronger…'
He waited anxiously for Sylas's arrival, so he could fully avenge what had been done to his daughter. Outside, Ysabella had already told all those who had been rescued, managing to relieve them even if they were still suspicious.
"Was that your father's power?"
Samuel, with his sister and another girl behind him, arrived. He asked with some nervousness, not wanting to disrespect any vampire.
"Yes, he is very strong, so don't even think about causing trouble."
"We would never do that to the one who rescued us, miss."
Seeing the girl who stepped forward to answer, it was clear she was very shy and scared, trembling a lot as she got close, unlike the 14-year-old girl behind her brother, who instead of fear had a curious expression.
"It wasn't me who rescued you, it was Sylas who made this whole plan."
"Even so, you helped him save us."
"Because he offered me something very good."
Ysabella was about to leave, but the 14-year-old girl quickly approached. From what she knew, her name was Lin.
"Miss, you seem strong, could you tell me how? I also want to be strong to protect my brother and repay Mister Sylas's help."
"I don't have time for that, girl. If you want to get stronger, ask Sylas, since he's going to use you all for some plan anyway."
Nobody there knew what plan they would be used for. Some thought they would be used as bait, others as cannon fodder in some battle that seemed to be coming.
"Oh right, I forgot to introduce myself."
"No need, aside from the scared girl, I already know your names."
"I… I'm not scared…"
Yes, she was—right now she was replying to Ysabella but in a low voice so she wouldn't hear. Samuel introduced her as Irina, his fiancée since birth because of their parents' promise to unite their families.
"Alright, I don't want to know about your lives. Sorry if I'm being rude, but I need to check my current level."
As they watched her leave, the three sighed. They didn't just want to thank her—Samuel planned to get closer to an important-looking vampire so they would be more protected, especially his sister and his fiancée.
"Looks like our plan failed."
"Brother, maybe it'll work with Mister Sylas, he seems like a good person."
"You think so?"
To Samuel, Sylas simply seemed different from other vampires, someone you could actually have a conversation with instead of being attacked as soon as he saw a human.
"We'll have to wait for him to arrive and see what his plan for us is."
It could be something dangerous that would make them all die, and if it was, he would have to come up with an escape plan.
