Weeks passed before the early spring dawn broke gray and thin over New Rosa. Even before sunlight truly crested the hills, city walls shuddered under the echo of distant horns—cold, metallic, and unyielding. Out on the frosted plain, banners of brown, blue, and yellow snapped in tandem with the gusts as the Hylian army, four thousand strong, advanced in serried ranks beneath the shadow of their most formidable.
From behind the cambered city rampart, Colonel Yuter watched through his battered spyglass as the Hylian vanguard approached: an armored tide edged with silvery swords, burnished shields, and the glint of drawn bomb arrows. The Hylian King Atari rode at their head, flanked by the Gerudo, Goron, Zora, and Rito elite. Behind, four thousand boots crushed the snow to slush and mud.
Lower on the wall, the Rosian defenders—barely five hundred, most in battered leathers, old chain, or mismatched armor—rattled in the frost as the Hylians advanced. Yet none dared flee as Rosa herself stood at their head, her gaze set and sharp as winter ice.
On the inner parapet, the Blue Army mustered: four thousand strong, a thousand of them Lavovy Drakons of the Kylian Airforce. These Lavovy Kylian soldiers carried bolt-action rifles and satchels of grenades at their waists. Fifty Lavovy Rosians joined them, forming a spearhead for the hardest fighting.
Atop the northern bastion stood a peculiar silhouette: the 100-tonne KAS Korona, its armored gas envelopes braced against the wind, drifted high above the city at 1,000 meters—well out of reach of most of Rito's highest flight. From its gondolas, machine guns and light cannons glinted in the dawn. Crewmembers checked bomb racks and ammunition as the order light flashed green.
A sudden trumpet blast cracked open the morning calm—the Hylians were charging. Their lines spread as shields rose and bomb arrow nocks glimmered like cold stars. The Rito, four hundred strong, ascended behind the front, wings spreading wide as they soared in disciplined squadrons.
"Artillery—Battery One—fire!"
Blue Army gunners lit fuses.
"Boom! Boom! Boom!"
Eighty guns thundered, their barrels erupting with flame and smoke. Shells hurtled downrange, exploding amidst the Hylian lines—earth and armor spraying skyward. Some Hylians attempted to dodge, but such an endeavor was futile as there were just too many shells.
The airship's gaslight floodlights swung toward them. With a roar, doors opened and the first cluster of high-explosive bombs fell, scattering Hylian units below as Rito squads tried desperately to climb and intercept. But at 1,000 meters' altitude, the KAS Korona was untouchable; bursts of gunfire chewed through dozens of wings as the Rito dropped from the sky, leaving feathers drifting in the wake.
Down below, the Kylian Lavovy led countercharges wherever the flying warriors tried to land. Rifles cracked; grenades exploded in midair. No Rito could land for more than seconds without being cut down or forced back to the sky's chaos.
On the ground, smoothbore batteries churned the field to mud and ruin, though the Hylian Elite surged onward: King Atari with the Gerudo and Goron at his sides glimmered—shields raised, bomb arrows bursting against the Blue Army's barricades. King Dorephan led squads darting through shell craters, while those Rito who still could offer covering barrages aloft, only to be met by fire from the airship and the waiting Kylian Airforce.
From a birdseye view, despite the Hylians being the aggressors, the Hylians were being surrounded. From a northern ridge overlooking the battlefield were the five artillery companies led by Lieutenant Colonel Artyleriya, firing southeast at the Hylians. The city itself was held by a garrison of five Kylian infantry companies and three Rosian companies led by Colonel Yuter, holding back the eastern Hylian attack. Behind both the Kylian Infantry and Kylian Artillery positions were Kylian Logistics personnel led by Lieutenant Colonel Vahon, supplying shells and bullets for a constant rate of fire.
Up above General Komanda led the Kylian Airforce to ensure air superiority. However, even with the superiority of the Kylian Airforce, several Rito were able to fire their bomb arrows at the Kylians, blowing up several squads.
This made General Yuter feel embarrassed as the Blue Army had never faced such casualties in the history of the Blue Army.
As for the Kylian Cavalry, they are positioned down south, taking hot shots at fleeing Hylians and making sure that the Hylian Army does not surround the city.
Back to the battlefield, suddenly, a new cry split the noise—"Your Majesty! Valord Rosa is on the field!"
The battered outer gate burst open; Rosa herself led a wedge of Rosian and Kylian elites in a rallying charge, while at her side walked Kylia—right arm bound in a crude sling, left hand flexing with intent. The two warriors advanced, even as shells and arrows thundered overhead, toward the vortex where the five Hylian leaders gathered.
With a roar, Kylia's voice pierced the din. "Break their center! 21st Infantry Platoon—forward!"
The Infantry surged forth, their fire answering the Gerudo and Rito. Bombs from the KAS Korona sent new shockwaves across the plain—exploding behind Hylian positions, scattering the rear ranks. Every attempt by Rito to fire bomb arrows was shredded by airship gunfire and the explosion of thrown grenades from the Kylian Airforce.
As the battered remnants of the Hylian lines drew up near the ruined earthworks, a sudden hush fell. King Atari rose from behind his battered shield, his eyes catching Rosa's across the churned mud. With the battle still ringing in their ears, his voice cut through the smoke—mocking, bright with cold confidence.
"So, this is the Valord of the State of Rosa? I heard you were called many names after the time you conquered Rosa City. Names such as Blood lord Rosa or Rosa of the Red. Yet now you hide under the protection of a younger sister? Pathetic! As expected of a western race, they should all die just like how I almost killed your father!"
"You're asking for death!" Fury flashed in Rosa's eyes—cold-wrought, sharper than steel—and in a sonic boom she broke ranks, launching herself toward the Hylian King with all the violence of a drawn blade. Wind and snow burst at her heels.
But Atari merely grinned—and in an instant, reached down, scooped a handful of snow, and hurled it. The snowball struck Rosa square in the face, bursting in a splash of cold and powder that blinded her for a heartbeat. It was all the opening the Goron leader needed: a mountainous fist swung out, catching Rosa broadside. She soared through the air, crashing into the churned mud and battered ice.
"…" For a single, suspended moment, the entire line—Kylia, the 21st Infantry Platoon, even the bomb-scorched fields—fell utterly silent, stunned by how swiftly the Valor had fallen.
"(#-_-)" Kylia was more than a bit annoyed with her sister. Fainting before the start of the real battle in such a disgraceful way was a slap in the face for not only Kylia, but also for the western forces.
Ignoring the passed out body of her older sister she claims she never knew, Kylia gave the order "Open fire!"
Rifles cracked, muskets thundered, and grenades arced over the broken parapet. The Kylian volley hammered into the Hylian ranks, slaughtering most of their remaining elite in seconds. Yet at the vanguard, the Hylian Five—Atari, the Gerudo, Goron, Zora, and Rito leaders—stood firm, sheltered by the Goron's shimmering protection barrier. Bullets and fire swept around them harmlessly, ringing off the glimmering shield.
Seeing that bullets were ineffective against the Hylian five, Kylia motioned the 21st Infantry Platoon to retreat. For the next battle, people below Kylia's level would only be cannon fodder for what would come.
"You western scum! Dare kill my elite Hylians! Champions…Attack!"
The Gerudo leader swung down her scimitar, sending a slash of lighting hurling towards Kylia. Meanwhile the Rito leader drew his bow, firing 3 bomb arrows towards Kylia.
Kylia easily dodges both the bomb arrows and the lighting slash at mach speed. Preparing a 10 cm, 100,000 degree celsius plasma ball in her hand she shot towards the Zora leader, King Dorephan.
Within milliseconds she approached the Zora leader, with the intent to kill. Kylia had a fleeting thought that Link may not have a fish as a girlfriend in the future.
Just when the plasma ball in her hand was just centimeters away from King Dorephan's head, she instead shot right past him. In the area where Kylia had once been, thick purple slashes flew by and covered the ground with large scratches. King Atari had positioned himself for a sneak attack while Kylia was busy with the others.
In the air, Kylia crashes head, the plasma ball in her hand exploding on the ground, creating a meter large smoldering crater. Without stopping, she used the momentum of her fall to perform a ninja roll, uprighting herself within a second.
"Troublesome…" Kylia exhaled as she faced back towards the Hylian Five. Separately, each of them were weaker than her. However, from their previous engagement, their team work can be said to be top notch. Each team member did their role. The Rito leader used ranged attacks, Gerudo used quick attacks, King Atari and King Dorephan were all rounders and the Goron leader was the shield. A tough combination to break.
Having decided that she did enough playing around, Kylia held her palm out and started to form another plasma ball. 10cm, then 50cm, after a second the plasma ball had grown to a terrifying five meters in diameter. At a temperature of five million degrees celsius the light given off could be seen from several kilometers away, glowing a mix of blue, orange and red colors.
"Eat my ball!" Kylia threw the plasma ball. As it hurled towards the Hylian five at mach speeds it engorged an orange trail of molten rock. The only reason why the plasma ball had not exploded the moment it left Kylia's hand was because she was actually still using a strong precise electromagnetic field, stabilizing the plasma ball mid-flight.
"Do-!" King Atari started to yell as the ball had easily crossed the distance in milliseconds before being interrupted by the Goron leader's responsive action.
"Hrah!" The Goron leader roared as he clapped his hands together, creating an equally large glowing dome. The plasma ball destabilized as it squashed against the dome, exploding with a force of 488 tonnes of TNT or 1/30th the size of the Hiroshima bomb, breaking the Goron's defense. To protect themselves from the residual explosion, the Goron clapped his hands, creating another shield. Even then, the shield still broke, but by this time most of the explosion had dispersed.
What was left was a 35 meter large crater with a depth of 15 meters, trapping the Hylian five. The fireball of the explosion had measured 80 meters in diameter, producing a shockwave that obliterated everything within 150 meters and fires broke out within half a kilometer of the central explosion.
Choking on ash, the five peered warily around them, still recovering from their near death encounter. Kylia would not let them.
"Boom!" Kylia went straight for King Atari; 10 cm large, 100,000 degree celsius plasma ball in hand. King Atari, not to be out done, was lucky enough to raise his sword in the knick of time.
"Clat-shing!" With a fancy move, the plasma ball was redirected towards Kylia's feet.
"Boom!" Caught off guard, Kylia only had enough time to lift her legs before the shockwave lifted her body uncontrollably into the strong arms of the Goron leader to the side.
"Blayt!" Despite struggling as hard as she could, she was firmly in the grip of the large goron's hands. Even Vladislav, who was more than ten times stronger than Kylia failed to get out of the goron's grasp, let alone Kylia who could only use her left arm to strain against the thick rocky arms around her.
"Hahahaha! Who's in trouble now! Now, become the stepping stone for this King's rule over the Hylian continent!" King Atari laughed in delight as he brandished his sword, and took a confident step forward toward the captured Kylia. His blade, the dark mastersword, glinted in the flickering orange light of the burning battlefield behind him.
"Die!" Charging forward he stabbed at Kylia's, sharp wisps of purple, black and white energy radiating from his sword.
As King Atari's blade was a hair's breadth from Kylia's abdomen, a sudden hum of energy surged through the air.
In an instant, thin plasma filaments burst from Kylia's hair—threads of blue molten light twisting and growing like living tendrils. They coiled forward with uncanny speed, wrapping around the Dark Master Sword in a sizzling embrace just before it could touch her skin.
Simultaneously, half the plasma strands snapped backward, forming a plasma spike toward the Goron's head behind her. The Goron grunted, instincts kicking in as he raised his shimmering shield just in time. It held—barely—deflecting the deadly energy in a flash of molten sparks, forcing him to stagger back.
Using the distraction, Kylia yanked the sword forward with her plasma-bound hair. With a hiss and a crackle, the Dark Master Sword flew from King Atari's grip, spinning midair—until Kylia caught it, one-handed, the blade hissing with energy in her grasp.
"Arg!" Kylia knelt down and roared in pain as black sword energy gushed through her.
"You really think you can handle that sword? This sword is comparable to the original Master Sword only the hero could wield nearly ten thousands years ago! Even I could only barely wield it thanks to my superior lineage, let alone some monster like you. Now die from this King's hands!" King Atari cackled with glee, clenching his fists as he approached the struggling valor.
"Damn you!" Was all Kylia could respond with before a blow to the head combined with her current alignment knocked her out.
