Chapter 14 - 014| Day Three

"Bye-bye, teach you not to underestimate the top 50." They mocked.

This is just as I planned; I used my quirk to jump from and to the walls towards 42. I was so quick that they couldn't block my foot. I knocked him down!

I won.

I panted, looking down at this arrogant prick. For a Beta, he did give me a run for my money.

I jumped to the other side of the hall and tracked my steps back to the center of layer 2. I saw somebody run past in a flash. I looked, and the 3rd layer was open. I ran quickly. There were many here searching around for the button. I decided to just have a break; my arms were killing me.

"It's Midoriya." I hear some whispered.

I groan internally, here we go again.

. . .

I wanted to make it out first, but I was in 23rd place. It's still good now, it's the fights tomorrow. There are around 136 contenders left.

I snuck into my omega's room. I saw him snuggled up in his bed. He was sleeping without a care in the world. I noticed the bruises and his swollen cheek.

I sighed, "You're strong, I'll give you that, but you shouldn't be coming home with bruises. As your alpha, I should be protecting you from getting hurt, but I will continue to respect you and your wishes."

It's so frustrating having an omega so ambitious and morally good. He is so radiant. I hate to taint him. I want to tell him. I want to tell him everything. He should know it's only fair since his secret was broadcast.

"You better beat those brats," I said, rubbing his head.

I'll just recap and say the fight build-up was lukewarm. I don't care to even recall most of them. The fights were entertaining the audience and the potential sponsors, but I wanted a challenge. Just like my fight with rank 42, I want to have a thrilling match. Defeating rank 42 has caused the top 50 to be cautious. It's so boring!

"I'm gonna die of boredom watching fights," I thought, practically jumping to shake off my impatience.

"Oh, is that Midoryia! Why don't you tell us how you feel about today's matches?"

"Hello, um...I think the matches have been really exciting." I said.

"Really? Then could you tell us the secret to your fighting skills you displayed today?"

"Hmm? Alright, I'll tell you. Throughout the entire tournament, I handicapped myself." I said, smiling mysteriously to the camera.

"Don't hold back now! How are you handicapping yourself?" The host asked eagerly.

"You're just going to have to watch closely." I smiled mysteriously.

"Well, the audience and I will keep a lookout."

. . .

I heard my name. It's my turn once again. I shake off the excitement, putting my game face on. I was going against rank 47. Let's just say my match ended off mediocrely. When things were getting good, she tried using her pheromones to suppress me. She got quickly disqualified.

This was my fight, and it ended prematurely because someone got scared and used their second gender to win. It's so unsatisfying. I haven't gotten to chance to use my quirk in anything.

The tournament's results will be available soon. Hopefully, I moved up the rankings at least. That is so annoying! I wanted to go out with a bang.
