Chapter 3 - 03| Hangout

It was Saturday afternoon I was on the way to meet my friends. We all met at the school. I was a couple of minutes late, but everyone was there, even Kacchan.

"Sorry everyone! I'm here now!" I said, catching my breath.

"That's a first. Midoryia is late." Sero chuckled, wrapping his arm around my shoulder.

I laughed, embarrassed, pushing Sero's arm away.

"So, where are we going, Iida?" Mina asked excitedly.

"Actually, Momo said to meet her at the mall," Iida said, looking at his phone.

We followed him. We all got on a subway it wasn't as packed today. Uraraka stood next to me, holding onto the rail. She smiled, engaging in conversation.

"What are you going to get at the mall?" She asked.

"I don't know, maybe I'll get a gift for my mom," I said, puzzled.

It was our stop, so we got off. While we were getting off, Kacchan bumped into Uraraka. I caught her before she tripped. I glared at the back of the loud blonde.

"Thanks Deku."

"No problem."

I noticed she held on to my arm as she walked out with me. I wasn't uncomfortable; this could just be read as something by others. What I expect our friends were teasing us. I groaned.

"Stop, guys, I just helped because she tripped."

"Sureeeee," Mina said, taking a picture.

I gasped and wanted to chase down that pesky beta.

We made it to the mall and met up with Momo. The mall was huge with 5 floors. Many gasped. I'm not one to shop like this. We went inside, and some of the staff followed behind us.

We all went our separate ways. Uraraka, Momo, and Todoroki came with me to look for a tea set for my mother. She hasn't gotten a new one in a couple of years, so why not give her an early birthday gift? I smiled, looking at the different sets.

Momo directed me to a beautifully decorated set in forest green and silver. I think Mom would love this. It cost 350 bucks. Before I could swipe my card, Todoroki did.

"Todoroki, what are you doing? I can pay for it." I said, trying to tell the cashier to scan them.

"I like Ms. Midoryia; she always greets me kindly." I rolled my eyes.

"I'll pay yo—"

"No."

"Todoroki."

"No." He looked at me as I handed the set to the employees.

I sighed. He's not going to let me do anything to pay him back.

Two hours passed before everyone met back up. Momo had our stuff taken to our house. We left the mall looking for somewhere to sit down and eat.

"It's a couple of places to eat over here, just look around," Iida said.

I looked around, accidentally taking the wrong turn.

"Deku!" I heard Uraraka running towards me.

She held onto my arm. I sighed mentally.

"Everyone chose a burger place. C'mon, let's meet up with everyone." She said, pulling me.

We went back. I enjoyed my time eating with my friends, chatting up a storm. What are we going to do in the future? I am grateful for these days. They will never know how much I cherish these moments of chaotic peace. It was time we separated. It was around three when I was getting ready to leave. Some of the girls were talking with Uraraka enthusiastically. I shrugged, giving my goodbyes.

"Hey Deku, could I go with you?"

I looked at her confusedly. I know Uraraka doesn't live near me, so why would she want to take the subway with me?

"Are you sure?" I asked

"Not that I mean anything by it! I-I just want to make sure you get home safely, okay." She said, flustered.

I chuckled. She has always been so kind. I guess she could come with me. I did take notice that some of our classmates were staring at us.

"Alright, I'm just taking the subway, okay, I don't want to get too far from your house."

"O-okay!" Her voice was squeaky.

We walked out together. I heard a commotion in the restaurant, but we didn't pay it know mind. She asked me a couple of random questions. It was funny how she would be surprised by an answer she didn't expect from me. Uraraka and I made our way down the stairs.

"Deku, I wanted to ask you something?"

"What is it?"

"Well, I-I...um," she stuttered.

"Calm down. Take a deep breath, you can tell anything. I'm not judging here." Giving her a reassuring smile.

The train was a minute out before arriving. We swiped our cards. There were a lot of people here. It was a little crowded.

She calmed down, moving in front of me.

"I-I just want to ask if um..." The train stopped behind her.

She looked down, blushing, "Would go on a date with me."

"Ura—" she cut me off.

"Sorry, I worded that wrong! I meant a hangout. I wanted to go to the game room, but I didn't have anyone to go with."

"Of course I'll go with you, text me what time, I'll be sure to go with you," I said.

"I have to go now. Bye." I smiled, waving as I got on the train.

She waved to me as more people poured inside. It was getting jam-packed inside to the point I was getting smashed in the corner between the side of the seats and the closing door. I was madly uncomfortable as I wanted to get off and just run home. I was stuck now.
