Chapter 5 - Chapter 5 - Buy a House

Early the next morning.

At the port of Onigashima, a Beasts Pirates ship responsible for transporting food and supplies set sail, heading inland toward Wano Country.

On the deck, near the mast.

Good sat beneath the mast, arms crossed and propping up his chin, deep in thought about buying a house in the Flower Capital.

He had spent the past two and a half months preparing for this day. Now, he had finally saved up enough and was about to own property of his own.

The thought made him a little excited.

Just as Good was thinking about collecting rent, a girl carrying a longbow walked over.

"Yo, what a rare sight!"

"…"

Good's gaze drifted upward slightly.

Long legs, slim waist, big—

Ding!Auto-targeting mode activated!

The girl wore a form-fitting top, half white and half blue, unzipped all the way down to her navel, revealing pale skin and two round, hemispherical objects.

Wealthy and generous.

After examining her critically for a few seconds, Good smiled with satisfaction and looked up at the girl's slightly annoyed expression.

"Long time no see, Speed."

"It has been a while. You've been all mysterious these past few months. What have you even been up to?"

Speed pouted.

She was in charge of procurement, and Good often asked her to buy the latest newspapers. After a while, they became familiar with each other.

Speed pulled a newspaper from her chest and tossed it to Good.

"Here, the latest paper."

"Thanks."

Good took the still-warm newspaper.

Because his boss was a huge fan of entertainment and pop culture, reading every issue of the paper was a must. So buying the newspaper became Good's job, which in turn kept him informed about the outside world.

Good casually flipped it open. His brow furrowed at the headline.

"This is…?"

"What is it?"

Speed leaned in.

"Nothing."

Good shook his head and folded the paper shut.

The headline featured an article about "Fire Fist" Ace, who had just entered the Grand Line — still a fresh-faced rookie.

In a few months, Ace might arrive in Wano. Who knows what chaos he might stir up?

"Good."

Speed sat down beside him, elbowing him and whispering, "I heard you caught Lord Yamato?"

"Mm."

Good glanced at her.

Smack!

Speed gave him a hard slap on his muscular back.

"You really made a name for yourself this time!"

News of yesterday's battle had already spread across Onigashima.

No one had expected that even Ulti and Page One — both real fighters — would lose, yet this no-name guy Good managed to capture Lord Yamato. It shocked everyone.

Even if there was some luck involved, capturing the "Oni's child" definitely required real strength.

A single battle, and he was famous.

People were calling him the "Devil Muscleman."

Good didn't know about the nickname yet and changed the topic: "Let's not talk about that. How've you been? Almost promoted to Tobiroppo?"

"Just one step away!"

Speed raised her small fist and playfully punched his chest.

"Ow—That hurts."

Good rubbed his pecs, instantly understanding her message.

Her fist was coated with Haki!

Though not officially required, mastering Armament Haki was considered a basic condition for promotion to Tobiroppo.

With Haki, plus her keen eyesight and archery skills, she was just one major achievement away from getting promoted.

As for himself...

"Haki…"

Good rubbed his smooth head.

He was fully aware of Haki's existence and nature, but even after transmigrating for two and a half months, he still hadn't figured it out.

Killing intent, fighting spirit, presence—Turning willpower into a weapon. In theory, it sounded simple, but putting it into practice was far from easy.

Who knew when he'd grasp it?

Speed's eyes sparkled: "Good, did you hear? Lord Kaido is preparing for an expedition. This is our chance!"

"Haha, that's still a ways off."

Good chuckled and shook his head.

He'd also heard the news. For him and Speed, this expedition was indeed a golden opportunity to gain merit and get promoted. But preparations would take at least two or three months.

Besides, he wasn't all that interested in promotions. He was more focused on saving enough money to buy a house and enjoy early retirement.

"You're such a poser!"

Speed clicked her tongue in disappointment, but then her gaze shifted—Good had just earned major credit, meaning he must have plenty of cash.

And as pirates go…

She narrowed her eyes: "Good, what are you doing in the Flower Capital? Don't tell me you're visiting the pleasure district to chase women?"

"Of course not. I'm a bit of a clean freak. If I were looking for a woman, I'd go for someone clean and pretty—like you."

Good gave her a predatory look, blatantly staring at Speed.

Now that he was a pirate, there was no point pretending to be some kind of gentleman.

If you want something, say it. Otherwise, how would anyone know? Maybe the girl's interested too. Dry wood meets fire—it could happen.

After all, the women who became pirates were often just as wild and hungry as the men.

Speed rolled her eyes and chuckled, "Alright then. If you become a senior officer, I'll warm your bed."

"Eh~ You said it! If you go back on your word, you're a little puppy!"

Good grinned.

Senior officers in the crew were at least Tobiroppo-level. Though the Tobiroppo roles weren't officially established yet, the crew already had three All-Stars.

Becoming an All-Star was tough, but landing a future Tobiroppo spot shouldn't be impossible with his "cheat" powers.

The only problem?

This woman might eat a SMILE fruit and turn into a centaur in the future…That made things a little hard to accept—

Wait.

With his years of "experience watching certain films," female centaurs did have… alternative riding methods. Maybe it's not so bad after all.

"Snap out of it! Don't get weird!"

Noticing Good's inappropriate expression as he considered their "compatibility," Speed scolded him in exasperation.

If Good really became an All-Star, she wouldn't mind clinging to his coattails.

But was that realistic? With both their strengths, being promoted to Tobiroppo would already be a miracle—All-Star? Dream on.

"You still haven't said what you're doing in the Flower Capital?"

"Oh, I'm going to buy a house."

Good didn't bother hiding it.

Buying a house was just step one. He planned to rent it out at high prices and make money. No one else knew how to rent property.

"Buy a house???"

Speed's head was full of question marks.

Buy a house?

What kind of proper pirate buys a house?!They usually burn them down!

Speed fought back the urge to roast him and asked in confusion, "Why the hell are you buying a house?"

"Well, it's like this..."

Good perked up and enthusiastically described his grand plan: buy a house → rent it out → buy another → rent again.

And he still wasn't done.

Damn this cursed urge to share.

Speed listened, dumbfounded. After a long silence, she finally blurted out:

"Are you out of your mind?"

"Of course not. I've never thought so clearly."

Good lifted his chin proudly.

This girl's just never seen the world—how could she understand the joy of collecting rent?

Stable income, low risk, protection from inflation—property might even increase in value. Isn't that way better than fighting and killing?

"Ugh, whatever."

Speed gave up trying to argue.

"By the way, be careful heading to the Flower Capital alone. The samurai have been acting up lately some of our solo members have been attacked."

"Don't worry."

Good narrowed his eyes.

Whoever dares to stand between him and his dream of owning a homeDies.
