VEILBREAKERS
Episode 11: "Bloodlines in the Shadows"
[RECAP MONOLOGUE]
The city never sleeps. It hunts. Weeks ago, we vanished—Kael, Jett, and the tech-bunker that became our cage. We laid low. Hid our names. While Kael trained like a phantom, pushing beyond human limits, something inside him woke up… Dominion Will. The kind of power legends would kill to bury.
Then came the breach. Steel boots. Gunmetal shadows. Blood in the circuits. We fought. We survived. But we weren't alone that night. Someone else came through the fire—a ghost from Kael's past. We didn't know his name then. Now we do.
[NOW – LOCATION: OUTER SECTOR SAFE ROUTE – RAIN POURING HARD]
The rain burns cold against the black asphalt as a single figure walks under the flickering street lamps. A katana sheath slung across his back, its hilt wrapped in worn leather. His jacket—torn, riddled with scars of battles no one speaks about. His eyes… calm, yet carved from storms.
Ran.
[FLASH – THE BUNKER, HOURS AGO]Jett's voice echoes in Kael's head:"You trust this guy?"
Kael doesn't answer. He just watches the swordsman clean the blood off his blade with movements too precise to belong to a stranger.
Ran (low, calm):"You've gotten stronger… Kael."A pause. The weight of a thousand unspoken words hangs between them.Kael (quiet, cold):"You should've stayed gone."
Ran smirks, sliding his blade back into its sheath."And miss all the fun? Not a chance."
[PRESENT – THE SAFE ROUTE]Rain falls harder now. Kael, Jett, and Ran walk like shadows stitched into the storm. No words. Just footfalls and the occasional hum of drones scanning the skies. They're moving to a temporary safehouse—the bunker's compromised. They can't risk staying.
Jett (grumbling):"Still not over the fact you two don't talk about how you know each other. Feels like I'm babysitting two ticking nukes."
Ran glances at him, expression unreadable.Kael keeps walking. Silent.
[CUT TO – HIGH-RISE ROOFTOP. SOMEONE WATCHES THEM.]A silhouette in a black tactical cloak. Speaking through an encrypted comm."They're moving. Directive Core carrier confirmed. Orders?"
A distorted voice replies:"Shadow them. Engage only if necessary. The Council wants them alive… for now."
[SCENE SHIFT – SAFEHOUSE INTERIOR]Old warehouse. Concrete floor. A flickering lamp. The air smells like rust and rain. Kael sits cross-legged, eyes closed, breathing slow. His mind runs through the last fight—the symbol that appeared when Dominion Will surged. That ancient circle, burning like fire in his veins.
What am I becoming?
Ran leans against the wall, watching."You're holding back," he says.Kael opens his eyes, sharp like broken glass."And you talk too much."
[TENSION THICKENS. THEN—ALERT.]Jett curses at the screen."Son of a—They found us again. Multiple heat signatures inbound. This isn't random. They're tracking the Core!"
Kael stands. No hesitation. He grabs his jacket, slides a matte-black pistol into the holster, and checks the blade strapped to his back.
Ran cracks his neck, hand on his katana."Guess we're not sleeping tonight."
Kael, calm as death:"We never were."
[FINAL SHOT]The warehouse doors shudder as metallic footsteps echo outside. The sound of safeties clicking off.Jett:"They brought a squad. Heavily armed."Ran grins, blade half-drawn.Kael pulls his hood over his head, voice like steel:"Then let's make it quick."
