Chapter 3 - c2: Into the Unknown

Hooray!

"Gold throne built! Achievement unlocked!" I yelled, smiling. Unfortunately, there was no such achievement.

After going to different cave, I got enough raw gold to craft eight gold blocks. One gold block for the seat, three for the backrest, and two for each armrests. It looks... chonky. But it's gold!

It shines!!! And did I say it's gold?! Too bad, I can't use it to buy things. Anyway, after building this throne, my next goal is to furniture my house. I've long since expanded my house from the previous 8x4, three blocks tall, to a more "house-like" look.

Triangular roof, and a T-shaped house, along with a second floor, where my golden throne resides. Oh right, I've also added some windows after finding sand from the nearest river—which wasn't near at all.

Since the second floor was built only for the throne, I wasn't planning on adding anything else, for now. Going downstairs, it was empty, aside from the bed at one corner, pired with three double chests. Looking into my inventory, I moved six chests into my hotbar, as well as six furnaces and a crafting table.

Not long after, three more double chests were stacked on each other, next to the other three. The furnaces were stacked up to three blocks high too, making a 3x2 furnace area.

I should probably craft some stairs and slabs as well, make some D.I.Y. table and chair, but I'm out of wood.

"I swear I had more..." I shook my head, looking into the empty chest. Holding an iron axe, I kicked the double doors open with a beaming smile.

"Time to—" Suddenly, my words got stuck in my throat. "Haaa..."

I tried to avoid it, but alas... The portal stayed lit, right in front of my house. Why didn't I move my house away? Well... I want to enter the portal. But it's scary.

If it was the Nether dimension, then everything would be expected. The fiery hell-like biome, the floating ghasts, pigmen, wither skeletons... but this?

"Me and my damn hand." Oh if only I didn't get too relaxed in this place. With no othe choice, I went near the portal.

"I... I need to get ready. Better get this over with," I breathed in deeply. Stowing away my attempts of distraction, I went back to the house.

When I came back out, I was armed with a brand new set of iron armor, with my old set as a back up. Two iron swords, an iron pickaxe, axe, and shovel, some logs, unlit torches, a flint and still, iron ingots... and lastly, two shields.

Wearing the iron armor wasn't like in the game. It wasn't heavy, yes. In fact, it weighed nothing. But the durability and toughness was real. Apart from that, the helmet covered my entire head except my face. The chestplate covered my entire torso, but not my arms. Finally, everything from my waist down was fully covered by the armor.

As for the shield, it can cover my whole body if I crouch a little. Like in the game, it basically made me invulnerable unless the shield enters a disabled state. Curiously, the mobs here can forcefully do it.

So far, zombies can push it away from me when they get close, and skeletons can "numb" my arm if enough of them shoot enough times in a short while. Creepers, well, blow up to disable it. Spiders are the real hassle, because they can shoot webs and disable the shield from afar.

The saving grace was, the time of the disabled state isn't fixed. I can basically just raise it up again. In simpler words, the disabled state simply means the shield isn't in front of me.

Enough of that, I straightened myself, facing the unknown.

"The achievement says it all. Into the unknown!"

With a shout, I took careful steps into the glowing purple portal. Instantly, motion sickness set in.

The sun blazed in the sky. At a clearing in a lush forest, a group of black haired men gathered in a circle, discussing plans eith solemn tones. They wore dark cloaks with a red and white fan emblem at the back, paired with black clothes underneath. Their eyes were blood red, and near the edge, three black magatama spun gently in a circle around the pupil.

Agreeing on something, the nine of them straightened their bodies, nodding at each other. Then, they flickered out from view.

Not long after, purple particles started gathering out of thin air, followed by a swirling purple portal. Obsidian gushed out of the portal, smashing into the ground and rapidly forming one cubic meter blocks. As the familiar 5x4 obsidian frame was created, the swirling portal quickly expanded, filling up the empty space.
