Alpha Thorne's POV

The girl sat opposite me, wet and shivering from the rain, but the air in the room bent toward her as if it knew she was different.

I hated it.

In my pack house, in my chamber, I should be the one who commanded attention with my presence.

But Aisla, omega, servant, shadow, drew it from me without even trying. And I did not know how. That made her all the more dangerous.

That was the kind of danger that causes chaos and tear down empires.

She looked at me with steady eyes, and I saw no fear there. Only defiance, although carefully wrapped beneath her trembling hands.

"Tell me what you are," I demanded.

"I'm an omega," she said softly.

"Don't lie."

Her jaw tightened. "I don't know what I am, Alpha."

A bitter laugh escaped me. "Convenient. You expect me to believe a girl who bleeds silver, who bent my son's rage with a just touch, doesn't know what she is?"
