I finally arrived in school. As I walked towards the school grounds I noticed that all the other students were already in their classes, leaving the compound to be deserted .I quickly walked to take a book from my locker. As I approached my locker I noticed my bestfriend Duke, the most hottest guy in school aka the school's basketball team captain was leaning on my locker.
"Duke, what are you doing here??Aren't you supposed to be in class "I said to him a bit annoyed by his presence.
Duke turned to look at me,he looked a bit rattled and surprised to see me initially before saying, "I should be the one asking you that "
I rolled my eyes at that and asked "I am serious, what are you doing here?"
"Mrs Susana told met to find out whether you had arrived and she also said that if you have head straight to her office "
"Hmph..why I'm I always in trouble "I start to pout ,feeling wronged.
"It's because you always come to school late."Duke said in a matter of fact tone .
"But it's not my fault ,sleeping us such a peaceful and blissful feeling "I retorted.
"Well then sleepy-head ,you will continue to be in trouble "
I growled at him and asked "Whose side are you on?"
"Yours ,come on let's head to Mrs Susana's
office "Duke said , holding my hands to drag me along.
Duke can be strict at times at least to matters concerning me ,can't he just tell Mrs Sue that he didn't find me, he plays the role of a protective disciplined older brother too much ,than a friend even though he is only a month older than me.At worst he is too prim and proper but at best he's a good friend. We have been friends since seven years old.
At school, most girls throw death glares at me when I'm seen with him .
Frankly speaking, I understand those girls, being a sucker for masculine beauty I should know. With his silky black flowing hair, deep dark eyes, so dark I wonder if there is nothing in there ,thin pink alluring lips that seems to begging for a kiss,arched brows, why wouldn't they look at him? and wish I wasn't by his side.
We finally arrived. I entered into her office. Mrs Sue gave me the usual long lecture, some how this one was more pathetic than usual and there was another thing I just couldn't place my finger on it, today was different.
"You can leave now, Miss Gale" Mrs Sue said
"Yes , Mrs Sue. Thank you for the pardon "I said and barged out of the room before she changed her mind.
I was met with a literal student stampede. Wow, I didn't know the school had more than hundreds of students. I figured it was lunch period. Was I that late?
Duke saw me and walked over "Did you receive any punishment?"he asked teasingly
"No"I shot back
"I am disappointed "He said acting like a wronged puppy who didn't get his way.
"Like I said, whose side are you on?"I said, stressing on the 'you '
"Like I said, yours, come on cheer up no need to get sour over it .Let's go "he said with his lips almost curled up, clearly hiding his need to laugh at her cute behaviour.
